I agree that it's way too early to think of moving on from Jones. He has yet to play a full season worth of games and is in his second system without a full off-season to prepare properly.
We gotta give this kid time as bad as he looked today.
Not to mention his weapons have been reduced to Slayton and a bunch of nobodies
Our receivers don't scare anyone and we have no run game.

If they are picking top 2 I think unless he stops turning the ball over he is gonna get replaced because they don't want to be up there again and probably won't be. Hate to say he was a Shurmur type QB west coast O. Oh without a doubt. Even if he does clean it up a little bit its giong to be hard not to select one of those QBs their ceilings appear to be way higher we all know its anybodys guess when they get in the NFL, but those are two prospect you don't just skip out on unless you alreayd have a boneified franchise QB and Jones is not there yet, and quite frankly he may never be.. thats the point. If that is the situation sure we need other positions to be filled, but having one of the best prospects at the QB position on your rooster with Jones isn't the worst thing in the world.. Could always trade away jones for some picks.. but i'm getting way ahead of myself still plenty of season to go, but based of the first three weeks.. its a big yikes and a shake up is more than likely by seasons end.. with a new GM anything is possible. Jones wasn’t that (Franchise type QB) guy in college and he hasn’t looked like that guy besides his first game vs Tampa. He does look like Eli a lot when he’s killing us with turn overs and missed throws.

This...The defense just loads up on the run and with receivers like Golden Shower Tate and Evan “featherstone” Engram they really just keep everything in front of them.

Neither does our QB, pass rush, D-line, Linebackers, RBs, and most of all our Oline. Gettleman sucks.

I don’t think it’s that easy. Drafting Jones was a collaborative effort by the Giants. By getting rid of Jones you fully admit that you made the wrong choice and it was an utter failure. I think Jones stays regardless if Gettleman is fired. But, all bets are off if Lawrence is available in the draft. lets pump the brakes people, jones has not even played a full season yet, nor has he had all of his supporting cast on the field at one time. He did last week for what, two quarters. Lawrence isn’t solving the problems with this team. There are way too many holes from top to bottom. As far as the offense goes, dj is the giants leading rusher, that’s all you need to know. Not a recipe for success.

I guess being a UVa fan, I saw jones more than others. This Jones is EXACTLY who he was in college. He'll have moments of genius but then look like garbage for long stretches. He can't carry a team. He is slow to process and prone to errors. This is why he wasnt on any other teams radar other than maybe the redskins. He was never meant to be a first round pick. Gettleman just sucks. As soon as the giants admit that, we can move on and progress as an org. He ruined this team for years with his picks. All we can do now is pray an actually first round talent like Lawrence is available to us. Some will argue he carried at Duke. I haven't watched him enough in college to know, but i'll take your word for it. At any rate I'm not sold on the kid, I honestly just have no idea what to make out of jones.. I just have a gut feeling and my gut tells me if he hasn't cleaned up the same mistakes he was known for in college in year two we have a problem. I do feel two years is way to short to give up on a QB esp picked at 6, so chances are he'll get 3-4 seasons to prove himself unless something goes horribly wrong and Judge and whoever the new GM is decide they want their own guy. BC once Gettlemen goes, there's two major influencers in the Jones decision gone (Shurmur and Getty) once those two are gone who's left? Abrams? and if he takes over we have even bigger issues.

They can't really bail on him after only two seasons, they can, but that's then wasted draft capital. Either way, at the moment I don't care what they do with Jones keep him or leave him.. i'm just kinda ehh whatever. We'll see what week 17 looks like. Maybe he starts proving himself by then..

we have to take Lawrence is we get the 1 pick. If Jones improves his play we can trade lawrence for multiple 1 round picks later anyway. If we get the #1 pick, Gettleman will be gone and Lawrence will be our QB. Jones will be traded for a 3rd rounder ... putting an exclamation point on the Gettleman era.

If he gets promoted to GM i'll be very disappointed, however it is something Mara would do.

Engram was a real stinker as a #1 pick.
Shepherd, I believe will not ever be a factor.
He got his contract (good for him) (bad for us) and will be mostly out with injuries going forward.
We need to prepare for a top 3 pick and trade down for 3 more starters.
This roster still sucks.
We may also need an upgrade at DC. Right?

Your boy Gettlemen is the reason its bad. You among many others here kept telling me about how he can build a winner? well? 3 years in? how many more do we need? Terrible hire. Terrible management. The New York Football Giants in a nutshell.

So, we have to wait till everyone is healthy then we can make our judgment? This is the NFL, he may never have his full arsenal to play with. And yet, the kid trips over his own two feet every week.
