Chances are likely if they get a new GM Jones is gone. Unless of course he finally starts to ball out. Keep that in mind.

If they are picking top 2 I think unless he stops turning the ball over he is gonna get replaced because they don't want to be up there again and probably won't be. Hate to say he was a Shurmur type QB west coast O.

Even if he does clean it up a little bit its giong to be hard not to select one of those QBs their ceilings appear to be way higher we all know its anybodys guess when they get in the NFL, but those are two prospect you don't just skip out on unless you alreayd have a boneified franchise QB and Jones is not there yet, and quite frankly he may never be.. thats the point. If that is the situation sure we need other positions to be filled, but having one of the best prospects at the QB position on your rooster with Jones isn't the worst thing in the world.. Could always trade away jones for some picks.. but i'm getting way ahead of myself still plenty of season to go, but based of the first three weeks.. its a big yikes and a shake up is more than likely by seasons end.. with a new GM anything is possible.

we have to take Lawrence is we get the 1 pick. If Jones improves his play we can trade lawrence for multiple 1 round picks later anyway.

I am to I have to remind myself it was his 15th game in a new offense with 0 offseason but still get a chance at the best QB coming out in years got to jump. This whole class is struggling Haskins / Lock is hurt.

It hasnt sunk in to me yet that we are currently not only one of the worst teams in the league but if not the worst, we are very well looking at that #1 overall.
I like DJ and want things to work with him but if we get that #1 overall, you have no option other than take Trevor. Shame that it can be getting to that point/

I don’t think it’s that easy. Drafting Jones was a collaborative effort by the Giants. By getting rid of Jones you fully admit that you made the wrong choice and it was an utter failure. I think Jones stays regardless if Gettleman is fired. But, all bets are off if Lawrence is available in the draft.

i dont think so , jones has potential., get him a C and RT a TE and RB that can block This fan base got exactly what they want (no upgrade at playmakers,a new system Jones had to learn and no offseason A new o line (which i wanted) wiyb said no offseasn and no time to gell Losing their lone threat teams had to game plan against in Barkley because he was too fancy for half this base that wants to have a plodding slow.poke bruiser type because tbey despise good things Everything I predicted unfortunately is coming true ..and people.still act surprised.awaiting the incoming personal attacks

Even if we get all of the above that does not help the turnovers as that is on him. Taking him that early was a big mistake. And it is showing more and more.

By the time this team puts it all together the season will be over. This was a demoralizing loss today. We lost to a team that had every reason to feel sorry for themselves. But, they wiped the floor with us and took out our wives as we watched.

Thing is we are seeing exactly what I predicted would manifest itself with this young team witb no offseason witb an entirely new staff and systems playing teams that have been in the same systems for years Even decimated by injuries teams that know what they are doing will be playing better As long as this team stays reasonably healthy I think they will be playing much better in Dec..

I know - with such a stacked WR stable and the awesome RB’s we have and don’t forget the solid OL Jones should be lights out by now.
Wrong
Are you just starting to watch the game of football?
It sure sounds like it - go away.

You predicted us to get our asses handed to us by a bunch of backups? And be 0-3 before September ends? You must be a masochist. I knew this team would be a disaster, but still doesn’t make it that much easier to watch. I contemplated painting my whole house today, just to sit and watch the paint dry.

i dont think so , jones has potential., get him a C and RT a TE and RB that can block LG, and a defense...speaking of defenses, second game Simmons has been benched by the Cardinals. Giants will not pass on Lawrence if they are picking 1...

Don't see it. Kevin Abrams will most likely follow Gettleman. Abrams was a part of the committee that selected Daniel Jones.

Jones is young and has a lot of upside. imo his job is safe till year 4.

Things for Jones are certainly not going his way. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. It's not his fault. I do like his skillset. His situation right now just isn't good.

I agree that it's way too early to think of moving on from Jones. He has yet to play a full season worth of games and is in his second system without a full off-season to prepare properly.
We gotta give this kid time as bad as he looked today.

Agree. But he's gotta have some consistency around him. We can't continue this carousel of coaches and his players getting hurt.

I guess being a UVa fan, I saw jones more than others.
This Jones is EXACTLY who he was in college. He'll have moments of genius but then look like garbage for long stretches. He can't carry a team. He is slow to process and prone to errors. This is why he wasnt on any other teams radar other than maybe the redskins. He was never meant to be a first round pick.
Gettleman just sucks. As soon as the giants admit that, we can move on and progress as an org. He ruined this team for years with his picks. All we can do now is pray an actually first round talent like Lawrence is available to us.
