I've been watching this guy all year. I like his film breakdown. He's a bit scatterbrained, but he's good.
Based on his sessions:
1- he HATES Garret. 2- Gates has been a scapegoat for fans 3- Fleming is bad 4- Zeitler and Hernandez have had their ups and downs 5- Thomas has shown promise. Expected bumps along the way, but good overall.

Good stuff thanks, some of the play design seems to be problematic we are running practice squad WRs out there depending on them to get these blocks they need to hit that spot hard in the draft. OL looked more cohesive in this clip and better against stunts. I don't think they have even scratched the surface they will and can get much better.

Kinlaw gave him his flank instead of taking it and giving him ride down field he moved lateral with him guess live and learn.

Just listened to Columbo over on Giants .Com judge lets his coaches talk every week. Anyway Columbo sounds like he is pounding on them hard and did say they are thousands of reps behind in just practice reps he said he brings the juice and is not gonna let them get down. I trust him as a coach he realizes how much the Line play is hurting the whole team.

His evaluation is ok except the the very 1st one, He called the names wrong and the DBL Team with Hernandez and Thomas was terrible. First off when a DBL team is executed up front the 2 linemen need to be foot to foot and shoulder to shoulder, it is obvious it is NOT that way, that is the reason the 9ers were able to beat the DBL team and split the offensive linemen. He blamed it on Thomas when it was actually Hernandez who executed it wrong.
Other than that it was pretty good

I’ve watched him closely, he’s had a handful of bad plays... he’s playing exactly like someone with 3 games at the position. Gates is going to be fine at center.

Yeah I'm sensing the same thing Right now it looks like a bunch of individuals playing on 5 separate islands.. a fatal situation for having any shot at running the ball..and again this is a major victim of the Covid-19 disadvantage... So it actually looks worse than it is in reality for everyone inside.... Leave everyone but Flemming (insert Peart when comfortable)the entire year and I bet it looks very different by week 10

The only thing that I didn't expect was the defense the 1st 2 weeks to actually resemble playing like a unit and keeping the team in the games.. You want to really enjoy comedy of a bunch of instant gratification losers. Join the Big Blue Wrecking crew FB group They already are calling Thomas a bust

Back in the day I never went back and watched film, especially the OL, but in recent years technology has made it easy to do so. I happened to catch this guys week 1 overview, and have been watching him since. Among other things, he continues to say Gates isn't the issue. From the film he's shown, I tend to agree. We're not great, by any means, but many of the mistakes seen in these videos are due to miscommunication and a lack of cohesion. We should see less and less of these issues the more these guys play together. It sounds crazy, but at this time RT and a true TE seem to be our only real needs on the OL. This doesn't mean we shouldn't look to add a bonafide Center and additional depth next off-season, but RT and TE seem to be our only liabilities. Also, this video highlights how poorly our WR's block. The guy doing the video seems to despise JG's scheme, and commented on a few plays where the WR's were depended on to essentially be the lead blockers, but nonetheless our WR's are below average. They either don't get to the mark in time, miss the mark altogether, or get blown up. As disheartened as I am by the apparent regression of Jones, I'm still confident our OL will continue to show small improvements week to week, and will be a solid unit by the end of this season.

Something we talked about all off season was the fact that while none of our WR's were great, the strength of our offense was the potential of all our weapons on the field at the same time which we never saw last year. This season we saw it for a half a quarter... Now we're missing Barkley and Shepard. And Engram and Slayton are off to bad starts... The biggest irony is that Golden Tate (another scapegoat for fans on this forum) is the only WR playing to up his potential.

When's the last time we heard one of our coaches talk like this. It's good that he not only knows where the problem is, and is working to fix it, but is willing to articulate to the outside world as well, instead of laying on a line of BS to us, as if we are all a bunch of dolts.

You ask this as if he's a world beater. Smith has shown very little so far. The fact he may be a better blocker than Engram doesn't make him a good TE. Is Kaden Smith a good enough TE for you? I'd love it if he shows something this year, but at this point we do not have a TE worth writing home about.

Where did I act like he was a world beater with this question that's an over reaction on your part.. This year the whole team is a mess and I was hoping for some more progress with him and Jones but that hasn't happened for any of the players!

With Engram simply doing nothing worth a damn, I see no reason why Smith shouldn't get more playing time if things continue. He seemed more well rounded, but maybe not the straight line athlete Engram is. I'm fine with that. As we stand today, I'd like us to add a well-rounded TE in next years draft. This may change if Smith balls out.

Keep doing the breakdowns. Nice to see tape of Big Blue. It shows the actual game not what we are told after the fact.
