Apparently Ian Rapoport was suspended from NFL network for two weeks because he had made a sponsored post with Manscaped which goes against the NFL brand that has a partnership deal with Gillete. I did find it interesting that I never saw him on NFL network during that timeframe giving any updates like he used to, but I just thought it was because there was no trades or rumors swirling around which is what he's known for. What's interesting is Jane Selter was the one who unintentionally brought it to NFL networks attention by retweeting his original sponsored post and poking fun of him. All in all, I think it was a overreaction by the NFL especially since they've done far less with some of their analysts that had received allegations of sexual assault. But it doesn't hurt to point out how full of shit the NFL is. From downplaying info about head injuries to the fact that they make hundreds of millions a year in advertising alone, yet still can't build their own damn stadiums. Oh and the fact that they were tax exempt for so long. I can't think of any other corporation that could deal with having their employees advertise for competitors. But I do understand the league could be sued for this kind of scenario. It just comes across as quite silly from one perspective. I wonder if it's something he did frequently or only violated once?

From what I had read, he had only done one sponsored post. I mean they couldn't have just warned him and told him to take it down, but yeah I completely agree the NFL has had favorable treatment that many other corporation would only dream of. To be fair to the guy, the 49ers had just done an agreement with the very same company so he probably thought it was no big deal.

Beyond stupid honestly.
