In the case where it’s “inches to go”, can the center keep the ball and stretch for the distance needed?

It is called a center sneak, But it is impractical . The Qb has to take possession of the ball and hand it back to the center. He cannot snap the ball to himself.

I know they are ineligible recievers but I guess not runners unless it is a fumble in which case they can not advance it. What about if zielter or a tackle pull as if they are blocking but then take the hand off? Is that technically allowed?

I think the QB has to take possession of the ball and hand it back to the center . I think any player on the offense take a hand off as long as he is behind the line of scrimmage.
