Makes you realize how fortunate we have been with the number today hits DJ has taken, along with the heavy number of designed runs. That’s truly unfortunate, I was looking forward to seeing him next week. Then again, the Giants will now face a long running poison, back up QB’s. Hopefully Burrow makes a full recovery and is ready to go next year.

Burrow is a pocket passer, he will be fine.
Damn shame

Wish the kid all the good health in the world and a speedy recovery, it was a gruesome injury his OL blocked a DT directly into the knee looked pretty nasty.

Dang Burrow injury sounds like the Bridgewater injury. More like a 2 year scenario. That sucks. Prayers up for the kid.

The video of it looked terrible and that was from a not very good angle. Dead on straight hit low from the defender. Also may have been the case the defender behind him had him stood up high. I thought both of these scenarios were outlawed by the NFL to guard from this exact kind of injury. Surprised I haven't heard of the defenders involved, and if fines or suspensions were pending.

Bengals curse?
Remember the Carson Palmer knee injury?...Steelers, playoff game. Might have been the first play of the game if I remember...it was VERY early in the game though.
The Bengals were supposed to be the next great thing...Palmer was a talented QB...VERY talented.
After that injury, he was never the same.

Jonathan allen is the football teams DT that hit burrows knee straight on. Sweat also hit him from behind. Still shocked there's no talking of at least one fine/suspension for this.

To suggest a "curse" is so silly it really shouldn't be responded to.
The only "curse" there is in Cincy is that the Brown family sucks to work for and generally players want out of there as soon as they can.

this injury to Burrow is a classic reason why players should get all the money they can because a career ending injury is always looking for a place to happen and these owners are making boatloads of money...

I didnt see it but they said the bengals olineman blocked the defender into Burrows. Pure accident

You really must question the Bengals for signing and playing someone like a Bobby Hart. I'm not blaming him because I didn't see the play, but just having him as your starter tells me that QB protection is not a priority.

I’d think Hart was probably better for them he had become a fixture. The play really just seemed unfortunate. I’m not that guy, so with the ending it had seeing once was more than enough. I’ll leave the analysis to guys who don’t mind that stuff. I’m not a fan.

I think he was talking about a curse tongue in cheek. I agree though that Palmer was never the same after that injury. Had some good seasons, but IMO never reached the heights that he looked like he was going to reach before the injury.

Kind of a Catch-22 -- you have to be a really bad team to even get a shot at Burrow, and then when you get him in the door, you're not good enough to protect him

Let's go way back to Cook (1969) Supposedly the best qb Bill Walsh ever saw .. Permanently damages his shoulder week 3 of his rookie year

Exactly what scares the crap out of me with "running qbs." Or designed run plays for QBs.

Continues to be mo.

Football is a gladiator sport and injuries are bound to happen. What happened to Burrow is unfortunate and it had nothing to do with his style of play. It was a freakish play. Nothing more or less.
What I will also say is that the Bengals better do whatever it takes to protect their investment. I fully expect them to refurbish their oline. They have some really good position players already.

It would be felonious for them to pass on an oline prospect like that.

Of course I was...tough crowd Palmer had that one great year out here in Arizona, defense was one of the best and Carson was throwing guided missiles all year...then they got torched by the Panthers in the NFC championship game. I watched a lot of Palmer...when he was on, none better...that knee injury was freaky severe...had about everything you can do to a knee in regards to damage.

Not sure what you think Palmer couldn't do after the injury. He had a good career. He was still developing as a QB when he got hurt.
I don't know what you are basing the "he was never the same" on. He was still learning to play QB in the NFL.
