10 things to watch in Giants vs. Seahawks
By Dan SalomoneSERIES HISTORYThe all-time series between the Giants are Seahawks is tied 9-9, with Seattle winning the past four contests (2011, 2013, 2014, 2017). The Giants' last win in Seattle came on a 2010 road trip when Eli Manning threw three touchdowns and Ahmad Bradshaw ran for two more in a 41-7 victory. LAST TIME OUTWith a 19-17 victory in Cincinnati, the Giants improved to 4-7 after a 0-5 start to the season. Their three-game winning streak is their longest since recording six consecutive victories in 2016, the last time they made the postseason. The Giants sit atop the NFC East, holding a tiebreaker over Washington (also 4-7) after sweeping the season series. The Seahawks, meanwhile, defeated the Eagles 23-17 in Week 12 to improve to 8-3. Seattle, which started 5-0, is 3-3 since its bye week. DANIEL JONES DOUBTFULDaniel Jones is officially listed as doubtful for Sunday's road game against the Seattle Seahawks but will travel with the team. Jones injured his right hamstring in last week's 19-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals and was replaced by Colt McCoy, who could start on Sunday if Jones cannot play. NEXT COLT UP
McCoy is in line to make his 29th career start in 11 NFL seasons. He last started on Oct. 6, 2019, for Washington against New England. Last week marked 421 days between appearances for the veteran backup.
"Colt's had a good week of practice," coach Joe Judge said. "He's working hard. Colt's got a lot of experience. He doesn't really miss a beat. He gets in there, it's like riding a bike for this guy. He gets in there and he competes. Everything is very, very competitive with Colt. He goes in there, especially offense versus defensive period, we're making it competitive. He gets a lot of the juice flowing there throughout the team. He's not afraid to mix it up and talk a little smack with the guys. It's fun seeing him operate."
WAYNE TRAIN
Running back Wayne Gallman has reached the end zone in five consecutive games, the longest streak by a Giants player since Saquon Barkley scored touchdowns in five consecutive games from Sept. 23-Oct. 22, 2018. He is the first Giants player to rush for a touchdown in five consecutive games since Andre Brown had a streak of six straight games in 2012-13.
LEONARD WILLIAMS
Defensive lineman Leonard Williams needs one more sack to match his career high (7.0 with Jets in 2016).
JAMES BRADBERRY VS. DK METCALF
Bradberry, who is tied for second in the NFL with 15 passes defensed, earned his stripes in the receiver-rich NFC South, where he played his first four seasons with the Panthers. But "you don't have a lot of guys walking the earth" like Seattle's DK Metcalf. The 6-foot-4, 229-pound wide receiver leads the league with 1,039 receiving yards, and his 12 receptions of 30-plus yards are four more than anyone else.
LOGAN RYAN IS A GOOD SPORT
Defensive back Logan Ryan leads NFC free safeties in Pro Bowl voting by fans (Pittsburgh's Minkah Fitzpatrick leads the AFC). Roster selections are determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches. Each group's vote counts one-third toward determining the 88 All-Star players. NFL players and coaches will cast their votes on Friday, December 18.
This week, Ryan was also named the Giants' nominee for the 2020 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. The award, established in 2014, is presented each year to an NFL player "who demonstrates the qualities of outstanding sportsmanship on the playing field, including fair play, respect for opponents and integrity in competition." It is named in in honor of the late founding owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Rooney, Sr.
GA-NO DOUBT
With four last week, Graham Gano extended his streak to 24 consecutive successful field goal attempts. He now has the second-longest streak in Giants history and needs five more to tie the record.
HOME-FIELD ADVANTAGE?
Despite the lack of fans, the Seahawks are still 5-0 this season at home this season. Since Pete Carroll took over in 2010, the Seahawks are 68-23 as the home team, including 6-0 in the postseason.

I would love to see the Giants beat a playoff type team and propel themselves into the playoffs. We all know Seattle offense a juggernaut their defense a siv.
Our defense is good. We could/should shut their run game down to crap. Their air game now how much can we hold them to. Can we keep them under 24 ? Philly did. How many points can we ring up with Colt at QB ?
We can do it but no back breaking scoring plays by their receivers. Or 170 yd plus games by Metcalf or Lockett..

This game was pretty much looked at as an L since the schedule came out. I think with a healthy DJ and Saquon, would have been tough to beat this team. As long as they dont lose 41 - 6 tomorrow, its really not the worst thing in the world.

The key to me is the Giants need to continue to be able to run the ball consistently, like they have been the last 5-6 games. That's Colts best chance to make some plays and run RPO and play action, and score points. That and they need to keep Wilson under control and contained as much as possible, and not let him make big plays down the field improvising. I don't think they will be able to run on our defense.
Giants 23-17

Seattle's run D is good and Jamal Adams has to not be allowed to make a game changing play or plays. Seattle also has 31 sacks on the season. The secondary is the weak link. So their weak link is defending our weak link. Kind of a wash. As Carl banks has said when Wilson starts to scramble the rest of the defense has to stay with their assignments and let the DL and LBs get to Wilson. Rather let up a first down then a broken play TD.
The Giants will need a few breaks and not turn the ball over to have a chance. Wilson is one of the best and can win a game on his own when things are clicking.
Seattle 24-17

Gallman is the key; if he can move the chains and keep the offense moving, maybe the defense won't be gassed by the 4th quarter.

If Colt McCoy looks like an obligatory backup NFL quarterback that you wish didnt need to see the field, Giants 13 Seahawks 27

This is a game reality hits us in the face. We’ve had a nice little run, beating up bad teams on the way of a 3 game win streak. But now, we’re facing a team that puts up video game stats on offense.
Depending on Jones availability today. If McCoy is our starter I think this game can get ugly quick. We all want to say “he’s a pro” and it’s about time the opposition losses to a back up.” I just don’t see that happening.
For us to have a chance Gallman is going to have to play out of his mind. And the defense has to play like the ‘85 Bears. So, in other words. Highly doubtful we win this game. But, “any given Sunday.”
Win this game. And I’m all in..

The offense could only muster 10 points by halftime last week against the Bengals. That was with a healthy DJ. I think they are gonna need more points than that unless our D absolutely decimates Seattles offense Lol. Regardless, this will be a good test for the Defense. They havent exactly held a top offense yet, so this will be good.

I can't get that sideline exchange between Dixon and Judge out of my mind--the one when Ballentine lined up wide with NO ONE on him but never looked Dixons way. The exchange on the sideline looked as if Dixon has the green light anytime the D blows a ST assignment. He was exasperated. I'm positive that football IQ mistake sealed Ballentine's fate.

Just above The Sea Hawks. we should be able to hang with Seattle . Especially with their weak D and Wilson's propensity for getting sacked and throwing INTs.
