The level of irony in this is... comical. Tiki Barber: Eagles' Carson Wentz is 'perhaps the worst teammate you could possibly be' A report recently surfaced that Wentz wasn't happy being the backup quarterback behind Jalen Hurts "Carson Wentz is being perhaps the worst teammate that you could possibly be ever. Now here's the problem. There is a narrative around Carson Wentz that as good as he is or potentially could be, he's just never been able to be the man. The championship was won by Nick Foles, who they love, and Doug Pederson had a good relationship with him. Foles ran the offense a lot more efficiently than Wentz did. But coming back, you get rid of Foles so there is no quarterback controversy and it's Wentz's team." www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/tiki-barber-eagles-carson-wentz-is-perhaps-the-worst-teammate-you-could-possibly-be/

I figured I’ll get in here before the Tiki bashing begins. I never hated the player, or had ill feelings towards his opinions. What he did off the field is his business, and what he said about Eli and Strahan's contract is between those players. When I think of Tiki I think of the best running back this franchise has ever seen. And yes, he’s better than Barkley. When Barber retired he was in a rare group of running backs. Three backs had 10,000 rushing yards and 5,000 yards receiving in a career. Marcus Allen (HOF) Marshall Faulk (HOF) and last Tiki Barber. And Tiki wasn’t the full time starter until his 4th year. I think he deserves to be in the hall of fame with all the other greats..
As for Wentz. He’s in a tough spot. The Eagles traded up to draft him, they gave him a huge contract, he gets hurt and misses the super bowl. And now, he’s benched. Hard to take all of that on the chin and be a good teammate. Ego usually gets in the way. Wentz best course of action is bite the tongue, prepare every week like you’re a starter, and wait your time. He’s got age on his side, and has shown he can play at a high level in this league.

the best thing for Wentz is that he gets traded after this season to a QB needy team because I think he can play in this league.

They will instantly have to absorb an instant 34 million cap hit next offseason They are aprox 75 or more million over the cap next year... They have more dead money incoming by cutting some players not named Wentz... He can't be traded

Giants went through similar but nowhere near as bad after the 2011 Super Bowl win.

How exactly not wanting to be a backup being the worst teammate he could possible be? How is that different than announcing you retirement in week 10 of the season?

Wentz is acting like any self-respecting QB by not wanting to be demoted or settle for being a backup. Of course he should be angry that the organization didn’t back him after the money they gave him.
I have no idea where Tiki is trying to go with this.

Tiki Barber was one of the best RBs in NFL history from 2002-06. Maybe even the best.
He was still an ass though with his comments and a bad teammate, so its just ironic he is calling out Wentz here.

What did Tiki do that was so bad when he was a Giant? Announce that he was retiring after the season? If that is wrong than what did you think of Derek Jeter and his good-bye tour of MLB?
I didn't like Tiki's comments about Eli but that was after Tiki was retired. He was not a Giant when he made that comment.
What Tiki did was work his ass off every day, both on the field and in his training. He turned himself from a slightly average RB to a guy who achieved greatness no Giant RB had ever achieved.
I'm so ****ing sick of the Tiki hate. He may or may not be a jaggoff off the field. I don't know. But he was a great friggin Giant.

Tiki announced his retirement during the season. Big difference from Jeter announcing it before the season started. It was a bad look on Tiki's part and I'm a huge Tiki fan.

He did not retire at the end of the season . Now I would not have a problem with that, but after the season he decided to trashed the HC and Eli during the following season. Karma bit him for his comments. To go back to what I was saying .The way Tiki went about doing what he did. He should refrain from calling anyone a bad teammate what he did with the events of his retirement. By the way Merry Christmas my friend.

Uh, no. I dont care that he retired in his prime... He was an asshole to some of his teammates. Then continued bad mouthing coaches and players of the Giants after too. Love him as a RB. But he was a douchebag.

wasnt Wentz having an MVP type year when he got hurt? Then Foles came in and had the unreal run.
Wentz is frustrated and it shows. Not an unusual thing given his situation.

Wentz is not the same QB after that knee injury, blame Philly FO for getting all giddy that yr cuz he was having an MVP type season & giving him that contract. How about a team wait till that QB actually maybe wins em a SB or 2. Amazes me how just cuz a certain player is having a great season, the FO goes into knee jerk mode & wants to sign em up to a multi hundred million $ contract based on just that 1 season & not on their entire body of work over a 3yr or 4 yr period. Look how "great" the Ewok has been since telling Jerry to pay him while still under his rook contract & tell me that he's been worth it. Stop overpaying these clowns over 1 great season where they "almost got you to the SB, & pay em based on a continuous basis of excellent performance on a yr to yr basis. Freaking millions of Americans outta work this yr & these asswipes are not satisfied making $25 million a yr to play a damn game & want more! Talk abut being unappreciative!

I'm not certain I remember the whole "Tiki was a bad teammate" thing. He had some bumps...Stray's contract comes to mind...but I don't recall Tiki being labeled a bad teammate at the time.
