Smith again...but that's the knock on him...so slight of frame and could be injured quite easily in the NFL...still, he is a separation master He can bulk up Honestly how I manage my playmakers is not to resign these guys ...pay the big guys up front if they are good and keep drafting guys who can catch and do things with the football once you establish your playmakers..maybe keep a complimentary type guy on a moderate deal (provided you have your longterm franchise qb)... As you also said, being in a position these days with most other units bolstered and the cap being no future issue - the receiving talent in the draft is trending to be optimal for this approach.

Devonta Smith can play any receiving position out there. The guy has the football IQ to match his talent. I could watch this young man play WR all day long. On another note, imagine having Waddle, Smith, Jeudy, and Ruggs all in the same WR meeting? That's what Alabama had last season. Hilarious! And people wonder why Tua looks hesitant at times this year... You go from a virtual all star 10 formation to a slightly better playmaker cast than we have ...

On the plus...at least Notre Dame can feel comfortable in the fact this game will not come down to a the need of a game winning field goal

I liked Ruggs over JJ last year...seemed the Raiders did as well. He's been awful thus far, but Jerry Jeudy dropped 5 balls last week...absurd amount and also having a crap rookie year

No outside speed ! Imagine if N.D. had a Smith or a ( healthy ) Waddle.
