Will the Redskins start their 4th string QB off the street next week?

Wow.
Bring him in to compete with DJ before Chris Carter calls the Giants racist again!
Im surprised the cut him for sure. I figured they would just have him as a backup for a while. I guess Rivera was over it.

Wow
Albert Breer said something about it rubbing the team the wrong way that Haskins excessively celebrated his first 300 yard passing game after a double-digit loss to the Ravens ....
Two coaching staffs decided that they didn't like him pretty quickly ... I don't recall seeing anything negative about his personality, work habits, maturity, etc. before the draft.

You couldnt make up a more dysfunctional situation for a football team. The FO and coaching staff were on completely opposite sides with Haskins.

I would love to hear the war room talk for us deciding on Daniel Jones too. I bet they werent all on the same page either. I loved that we didnt draft Haskins, but hated that we drafted Jones.

Pat Shurmur, who like Gruden was fired, has never come out against the Jones pick or any former staff to my knowledge. Not saying there was or wasnt difference of opinions but this has all come out since Haskins was originally drafted. Its not good.

LOL Shurmur was happy as a pig in shit especially after that first game in Tampa. It is said he was Shurmurs guy and we can see why with Haskins and Lock looking like they do.

I believe I remember hearing Shurmur was the one who wanted Jones, and opened DGs eyes to him, which lead DG to watching the senior bowl and eventually pulling the trigger. Mara probably just nodded. So again, we had our HC really pick the QB he wanted, and then get fired.

As much as I disliked Shurmur as a HC, thought his system was good for Jones and was likely the worst thing to come from firing Shurmur. I think DJ would have made actual improvements being in that system for a second year. Instead we got.. this.

Thats why its dumb to draft a QB early knowing there is a chance you are going to fire the HC after the season. The Cardinals did the same thing and moved on from Rosen right away. Now we most likely will fire the GM who drafted DJ too. Then what? He is a lame duck that might not be what Judge is looking for in a QB. Wasted the #6 pick.

I have to give Shurmur a pass because after Jones came back from his ankle last year he had him taking care of the ball and still throwing TDs. Think he had the right kid for his offense and would have started sprinkling in read options and more RPOs as the kid progressed. Now he might be going on his 3rd OC in 3 years Jones should fire the Giants.

The worst thing DG/ownership has done was have no consistency. You bring in DG/Shurmur in 2018 to essentially continue the way things were going with Eli still at QB. Then the next year you draft the QB high, trade way OBJ and DJ plays the majority of the year, he is now the starter. But then to fire the HC that drafted him and hire a whole new coaching staff only for DG's job to be on the line this year is just setting yourself up for disaster. If DG is fired then whoever is hired (unless its Kevin Abrams) will have no ties to Judge and absolutely zero ties to DJ. Then what, start over again?

That tho is on Judge and the Giants there are plenty of WCO coaches who dabble in the college offenses also waiting out there. Judge saw the tape and knew what he was comfortable with. That said I don't think firing Shurmur was even a thought when they drafted him. I'm sure they thought Shurmur would be taking him to the next phase in 2020. Didn't like the way Shurmur handled in game situations but he can coach QBs and offense.

For the same reasons he was a bad HC in Cleveland. They should have kept Shurmur one more year or fired him after the 1st year of ineptitude. They are staggering GMs-HCs-QBs and firing every other year one of them. It will never work like this. And its showing. I expect us to be a 5-6 win team again next year because of this. Then we bring in a new GM in 2021, and Judge has a terrible 2021, do we move on again? Its crazy to think this is a good business model to follow.

They started that with TCs staff, on small scale firing one or 2 position coaches a year then the coordinators then TC and finally the GM it took about 5 years for them to get through the coaching staff. I said on the old boards they were being run like a rinky dink franchise.

You are given an opportunity very few get. That is all that golden ticket is. He is on a very long list of the I blew it players.

Prior to the draft, I wasn't sure about him, their behavior in those days leading up to it sealed my impression, and sadly for him, he's done nothing since to change it, proved it morelike.
