for upholding the integrity of the Giants-Eagles rivalry. Very refreshing to see a Coach go to such lengths to honor this rivalry. This is how Giants-Eagles remains an intense, bitter local rivalry. Let's keep it this way forever.
If the shoe was on the other foot, I would want the Giants to do the exact same thing to keep the Eagles out.
Pederson did exactly what a diehard Eagles fan who hates the Giants, would have done.
Nothing but respect for Doug Pederson.
Plus, the Giants needed the 11th pick to get a Top 2 WR (Chase, Smith). The 3 teams picking directly in front of NYG (10 Cowboys, 9 Broncos, 8 Panthers) all do not need a WR. We all know the Giants #1 biggest need is a #1 WR, and this is a 2-WR draft.

Did you just thank him for pulling a chicken shit move? I’m not even mad we aren’t in the playoffs, we had our opportunities and blew it. What I find unacceptable is a head coach who intentionally benches his QB down by 3 with plenty of time in the game. To secure the 6th pick. As a former player and head coach in this league he knows better.
The Giants/Eagles rivalry is where it is due to hard nosed football between two teams that hate one another. Not this nonsense.

The issue was the entire way the Eagles went about it. Very sleezy.

No, the Giants-Eagles rivalry is making sure the Giants succeed and the Eagles fail (and vice versa) AT ALL COSTS, BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. Whatever it takes - anything is on the table.

Said this yesterday and believe it still:
On MNF or maybe even SNF in week 1, I fully expect it to be Eagles at Giants (hoping fans will be able to be there). If Pederson is not fired, this will make for some of the best TV in the history of the NFL.

Nearly every player, current and former, I've heard talk has agreed. This was a bad move, by a worse organization. I think it ends up hurting them in the log run. Players don't want to play for a team that does this.

I know it may not be a move that makes sense for the Giants to make but man I would sign him just for the fuel to the fire factor lol and if this team did not have so many holes to fill, I'd so make a trade immediately after the 4th pick is made and leapfrog them to 5 and snag our #1 WR. How sweet and poetic would that all be lol.

I'm interested to see how Judge reacts after the first game between the Giants and Eagles next year. I assume he'll do nothing out of the ordinary, but based on his comments yesterday I can imagine Judge refusing to shake hands at mid-field. I could see him simply walking off.

Thought about that but classy thing to do is to shake hands anyway just nonchalant if possible. No need to sink to Pederson's lowly level.

I will speak just for myself as a fan
I would never want the Giants to purposefully tank any game at anytime
Let's see, integrity of the game, professionalism and class are just a few of the works that come to mind
I have no respect for what the HC did in this game see Judge's remarks that is the kind of coach I respect

If Ertz isn't retiring wonder if we can get him on a one or 2 year deal...delete Engram Ertz will definitely have a little fire in him not to go out that way

Nobody (including the Dolphins) seemed to have a problem with the Steelers benching a lot of their starters including the QB which likely made it easier for Cleveland to win and keep Miami out. Let's not pretend this is the first time a team has done this. The Giants should be more upset with not putting themselves in a better position so this scenario could never have happened.

It’s amazing to me how some cannot separate the two issues. Everyone agrees that if the Giants wanted to make the playoffs, they should have won more games. The issue is how to judge what the Eagles did. IMO making a pre-game decision to rest some guys in a meaningless game to increase your chances in the playoffs bears no resemblance whatsoever to blatantly tanking a game when it got close just to get a better draft pick. The latter scenario was just a bad look for the NFL on national TV.

Now all of a sudden he wants to stay and it was confirmed he is coming back next year...according to GM Howie Roseman.

For me, it wasn't the fact that he tanked. It was lying after the game saying he was trying to win. If in the beginning of the game or mid week he says "we're not playing our starters, we're evaluating our backups." I can live with that. That's his team, he can do whatever he wants. It's when they were competitive most of the game with a chance to tie or take the lead, then pull your only scorer out of the game and have the audacity to say you're trying to win is where I have an issue with.

Do any of you guys know how much he has done for that offense over the years? He is worth paying for!

The more I think about it, considering Sunday night's debacle by his prick of a head coach and that tearied eyed press conference he had yesterday the more I like the idea. He is 30 and it will be expensive but I am starting to really lean to full on signing the guy. Of course I am not the GM lol.

We were at work listening to Cataldi on Sportsradio 94WIP. He told Angelo that he would not be coming back next year. What changed about it all I have no idea. Don’t know if he was given an incentive to stay or what have you. But anyway, Angelo was harassing him because Pederson calls in every week and he was trying to get him to tell who he was going to start on Sunday... Wentz or Hurts. That was the same day he told Angelo he wouldn’t be back.
