If your a conspiracy theorist your going to love this.
Was driving thru Pennsylvania today and Ritchie the ex FB played I believe he said he played 7 years for the Raiders and Eagles has a local radio show up there. Today he was on the Cowherd show.
Apparently the Eagle organization is in complete turmoil with the firing of Pederson. But some people that Ritchie knows says this was a done deal last year. Thus it was Lurie that picked Hurts in the draft cause the wink and nod deal was Lincoln Riley HC from Oklahoma was coming to the Eagles only if he had his QB. Hurts was his QB in college.
Lurie firing a successful HC is nothing new with this ego maniac. All the good years Andy Reid had how many playoffs, a SB, 1 losing season gone. Kelly had a winning season gone, Pederson won a SB gone. Lurie is nuts and does interfere too much.
If you think Lurie would just fire his coach now if he didn't already have someone in the wings ? An aging team, there best OL Lane Johnson always hurt. Peters their LT is 39. No playmakers to speak of, A QB controversy, They are already over the cap going into next year.
Who the hell wants this job ?
This crap just keeps getting better and better. I love it. I hate the Eagles so much.

I do not think it is that complicated. Yesterday we discussed manipulating the cap. "there are ways around it" There is and Philly did it . They gave too many players big contracts . Then they had renegotiate those contracts (kick the can) , Now it is time to reconcile the books. The problem with can kicking is; as a GM you are assuming the yearly increase will counter the added expenditures being forced into the future. When that increase became a decrease. Here Philly is.

I mentioned Kelly, because he took extreme measures in conditioning and purging name players that had gotten a bit cozy in their big contracts. He never amounted to much as a HC or GM, but his philosophies were sound.

They had that little window of doing things right for once, but evidently went right back to poor business practices. Wonderful for us, anyway.

People like him in Oklahoma so your going to walk into a dumpster fire in Philly where their fans already hate everyone. Your right how much is the money difference ? Who knows ?

He is not going to leave OK. They are a team on the rise and a potential CFP bid next year. If he could manage to beat a top tier SEC team then he could name his tune salary wise. Its a good situation why would he messed that up?

Yep He brought in a lot of the pieces And they really didn't deviate much from what they ran with him...basically a hybrid air raid /WCO
