I think that if an owner believes that a HC can lead their team to a championship, then he/she will hire that HC regardless of color. Forcing hires because of race or color is a very bad idea IMO. This whole outrage about Bienemy not getting a job is ridiculous to me. None of the people who are expressing this outrage have the first clue about whether or not he can be a good NFL HC. What has he done in the NFL to “deserve” a HC position besides go on a lot of interviews? The fact that every team who doesn’t hire him is now branded a racist organization is insane to me. I'm not branding organizations racist if they have not had a minority HC, we gave Jerry Reese ample opportunities where he was underperforming as GM after the SB years. It's about creating opportunities. The way the system is now guys are getting mainly token interviews being forced by the Rooney rule. At the end of the day they are being passed over for jobs. So if teams aren't hiring a black candidate after being forced to interview him, you think they should force the team to hire him anyway? Many black coaches have come out strongly against stuff like that. Rememebr the attempt to add draft compensation to teams that hire minorities? Didnt go over well from anyone.

Getting interviews is a great start. Gives them the chance to blow a team away like Judge reportedly did last year Agree and agree. However it is very notable the lack of diversity among coaches and executives in the NFL. The current plan is not working. Forcing #s at the HC level probably won’t either. My question is do they have a plan for getting diversity among the entry level coaching assignments? extend the Rooney rule down to the coordinator level to increase the pipeline.
