I don't care if they focus on offense, defense, or kickers because we stink at the draft. The last three years have produced only three memorable in-a-good-way names: Dexter Lawrence, Andrew Thomas, and the increasingly irrelevant Saquon Barkley. I say trade ALL the picks for established players!!! It seems to be a more successful strategy for us lately.

Roasting Surtain ... nobody can cover this dude Looking at those clips I kinda think he did his job when asked to block Technique wise, he understands leverage and hand placement...he's not a big tight end...but if we look at him as a tight end who needs to block, I am not investing a top ten (11) pick on him. It's as Mike says, the incredible receiving traits that we want and what has him rated so high...the absolute stunning get off the scrimmage routes and winning every high point, the mismatches on CB and LB...not dropping anything...ever. Best route running tight end I ever seen. If I take a say... Julio Jones, and tell him I want him to block more...he's not Julio Jones, top wide receiver anymore. Let this kid line up everywhere, and catch the ball. He's then a top ten pick. Oh, how sick would it be getting both Pitts and Toney from Florida? That's a one two punch combo that should make any QB succeed.

That said he is dangerous inside and out would not be upset if he was there and we took him. Rather have a true WR but Judge saw the Gronk/ Hernandez affect in NE Maybe he thinks Engram / Pitts can be productive like that it would have to be in a different way because neither are strong blockers, If this did end up happening then I would still want a WR in RD2

Renner from PFF was asked to compare him to Engram he was blunt said Pitts wins from everywhere and is as crisp a route runner as he has seen especially at that size. He said Engram when coming out only won from the slot not so much anywhere else and his route running was well what it is to this day maybe a little better with 4 years in but Pitts is more polished right now he's big time and Toney would be a nice side kick.

The thing is that because he is a decent enough blocker it actually makes him that more dangerous when is lined up tight the few times he does because running a ..let's say skinny post out of the TE spot on a linebacker or safety would be deadly Making him a full time War takes this advantage away in creating mismatches I mean people forget Shannon Sharpe...probably the worst blocking TE in history.. 3 super bowls and those 3 teams all ran the ball great..why....because he was still technically a TE and would have to be accounted for as such...and motioning him out wide would pull a run defender out of the box...and if a corner accounted for him McCaffery or Smith would roast the defender not good enough to cover either.. If a team tries to use him as a traditional TE they are total morons .....but sprinkling in a fee sets where he does line up as one and he does secondary blocking assignments keeps his ultimate versatility intact...

Amazing how you guys think the draft will solve anything. It hasn't done but mini-squat for the last three years. It won't matter this year either. Bless you for hoping otherwise.
