I'm listening to Pro Football Talk, they are discussing the potential of a Jets/Seabirds trade (purely hypothetical, not even rumor status).
Jets get Russ
Seabirds get Sam D, Jets first round pick, and the 2 first rounders they sent to the Jets for Jamal Adams.
If I were the Jets, and could convince Seattle to do this trade, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

This trade makes no sense. The Seahawks are trading away a future hall of fame quarterback who is only 32 for Sam I am Darnold and a few scratch off draft picks?
Did Seattle’s GM fall on his head? This is a Jets move, no logic just pure idiocy. Like you mentioned, if I’m the Jets I’m praying for this to happen.
This is a hypothetical of all hypotheticals.

While they don't foresee him being traded, his recent public display of displeasure, and the other QB moves are what led to the discussion, and I agree that they'd have to be backed into a corner with no other way out to trade him.

This make zero sense. The Seahawks have 14 in cap space. Willison's 2021 base salery is 19 . If traded the Seahawks eat 39 in singing bonus (dead cap) . Less Wilson's contact (19) . That makes -20 for the trade. Add Darnold' s 2021 base salrey 4.78 . That is -24.78 Subtract that from the Seahawks' cap space (14). That leaves Seattle with almost -11 million in cap space. They go from +14 to -11 with one trade. No owner that does not have dementia would signoff on that.
Seattle gains no cap space ( loses cap space) and they only have 41 under contract.

Seattle is one of the smartest franchises in the league, they don’t trade their face of the franchise while he’s still in his prime for an underperforming quarterback and some draft picks. Also, tough sell to your fan base. “We’re trading our best quarterback in franchise history for a player who sees ghosts on the field.” This sounds like a bunch of guys spitballing at the water cooler.
