The WR who broke all of our hearts was released by the eagles because of his injury history
Ill never forget that 31-10 lead with 7+ left before the the eagles scored 28 in last 7m to win on the walkoff punt
They gained over 220 yards in this 7 min. Vick ran for 130
And overall giants allowed them to score 35 of their 38points in the 2nd half

Has played only 8 games in 2 years. 8 out of 32 and he is old. Still fast though that SOB. On the positive side he has played a whole lot more than the Giants CB Beal who we gave up a 3rd rd pick for.

Jackson is 34 years old, Giants need someone to grow with Jones.

Jackson is 34 years old, Giants need someone to grow with Jones. I wasnt in any way suggesting the giants pick him up Just saw the story and immediately what flashed through my mind was him running laterally across the field from left to right in front of the goal line taunting the giants players before he crossed over. And the fact that he initially fumbledand also retreated before going right through the middle of the STs D. Still can feel that dagger Only thing close to that collapse was i believe the 38-16 meltdown against SF in 4th. Never forget Strahan taunting their fans pointing to the scoreboard and he FG kick debacle at the end with kicker trying to throw the pass and the penalty that wasnt called. Wasnt that a playoff game or one they needed to get in playoffs?

The Eagles released Desean Jackson. He's 35, and has been nagged by injuries for the last few years, but he still has speed and hands, and could help in the return game. My guess is that his services will be relatively cheap, and he's still a weapon. He's probably better at 35 than any receiver we have on the roster right now, and could be helpful to the development of some of the new guys. Yes, the bile is building up in the back of my throat just typing this, but.... it might be worth it to kick the tires. Thoughts?

He is more fragile than OBJ. I will be surprised if anyone signs him and if they do it will be on the veteran minimum with incentive for staying healthy......if so he will be on the DL list before September ends.........along with Odell.

I think we should focus on defense in FA and offense in the draft. With a draft full of WR and TE talent, the idea of spending big on a WR in FA makes no sense to me.
However, for the sake of conversation, if we end up grabbing a WR in FA I don't mind the idea of looking at a cheap, proven veteran. I'd pass on Jackson personally, but players like Hilton or Jones could be decent options. Both are relatively productive, neither are headaches in the locker room, and they'd be somewhat cheap.
That said, my preference would be to look at a younger player who ultimately hasn't lived up to their draft hype. Whether it's due to injury or team chemistry, there are quite a few players who fit this boom or bust mold.....Westbrook, Agholor, Higgins, Reynolds, Williams, Ross, Snead, etc.
The WR FA class is weak this year. To me, the value falls into one of these two buckets.
