Looks like the market for OL is going to be quite big after all. Though I wonder if either of them retire.

Their going to have to sign them back at a considerable lower cap hit. Even if it's a 1 year deal. We seen how good they did without them in the SB. Didn't even score a TD.
These NFL teams should have taken a hit and left the cap what it was for a year. What they couldn't afford say a 15 million dollar difference. They make the rules. Change the rules for a year, they had the perfect cover to do this with covid through out the season.
Everything would have been much smoother.

I can see one of them returning on a lower deal but I do believe the Chiefs will look to get younger at one of the OT spots in the draft.

Wild seeing these guys released and knowing Solder is still accounting for $16M cap hit at the moment.

The idea of keeping Solder just seems silly ... he has played poorly for us, did not play at all last season, and will be asked to move to RT where he hasn't played since his rookie year? And with a big contract? Me thinks he is gone....

I think they can designate him as a June 1st cut, which like GL said above would cover the cost of the draft picks. Hopefully thats the route.
