It just makes too much sense here. The pattern is getting easy to read, and it ends up with this hand.
The NY Giants are taking their next QB THIS year.
5: R1 P5 QB Malik Willis - Liberty
7: R1 P7 OT Evan Neal - Alabama
36: R2 P4 G Zion Johnson - Boston College
67: R3 P3 TE Greg Dulcich - UCLA
81: R3 P17 LB Quay Walker - Georgia
112: R4 P7 WR Alec Pierce - Cincinnati
147: R5 P4 RB Dameon Pierce - Florida
173: R5 P30 C Nick Ford - Utah
182: R6 P3 G Cade Mays - Tennessee

This is actually a perfect draft where you adjust to build around a freshly drafted 2022 qb... For those that will cry ...but ....but....what about the defense.. We have nearly 100 million in cap space(possibly more of we move Golladay)and in a strong qb class in 2023 we could have Anderson fall into our laps

That being said, if we could walk away with Willis, Neal, ZJ, Alec and Dameon Pierce along with Ford, our offense would be revamped in 1 season

Giving fanspeak a break, the absurd amount of ads kills me, so here is my post combine draft over at draftnetwork.com.
5. New York Giants
Kayvon Thibodeaux
EDGE, Oregon - Exceptional athlete, crazy agility, explosive, outstanding run defender, very 'bendy', high end hands. He can stay on the field either in a 3 or 4 man front. Relentless pass rusher
7. New York Giants
Trevor Penning
OT, Northern Iowa
- It was between Penning and Cross to me, and honestly it came down to attitude on the field. Penning has that KILLER mentality, he doesnt just want to beat you, he wants to kick your ass publically. He tends to be a waist bender instead of a knee bender, but he is a beast in the run game while also being nearly impossible to bull rush. He's not the 'dancing bear' that Cross is, but he is the ass kicker that Cross isnt
36. New York Giants
Roger McCreary
CB, Auburn
-1 of the elite CBs this draft, 1 of the best press man corners coming out while also being 1 of the best run supporters and tacklers. Amazing athlete with insane short area quickness, extremely competetive and wants the ball. He would be an amazing addition for Wink's defense, especially if we move on from Bradberry
67. New York Giants
Darian Kinnard
IOL, Kentucky
- Like Penning, this dude is a KILLER, outstanding power, a total asset in the run game. Dude plays the game like he was Clubber Lang from Rocky 3. The tandem of him and Penning would be absolutely lethal. Very mobile, very smooth, very balanced. Suprising agility for a man his size, and while he can move well laterall, you can not beat him once he drops the anchor. Not the best in pass pro, has questionable hand placement, but dude gives it his all every down. Can play tackle in a pinch
81. New York Giants
Jeremy Ruckert
TE, Ohio State
-Local kid from Lindenhurst, so immediately I love the pick. He is a total asset when it comes to blocking, almost like having another tackle on the field. Red Zone threat who makes his bread and butter inside the 20. Insanely good hands and catch radius, dude is like a black hole when the ball is near. Not really a threat when it comes to yac, but he makes his catches count. He plays like an early 90s NBA power forward, he uses his body to box out opponents allowing him to get clean catches. VERY similar to Pat Freiermuth
112. New York Giants
Alec Pierce
WR, Cincinnati
- Blend of size, speed, hands, ball skills, body control, and competitive toughness, dynamic playmaker. His ability to track, adjust, and secure the football in traffic down the field is outstanding. Pierce is a deceptive route-runner that accelerates quickly. Pierce is a receiver that “catches everything” and is an alpha in everything he does on the field. He brings the fight as a blocker...I dont know why he isnt going higher
147. New York Giants
John Ridgeway IDL, Arkansas - disruptive force in the middle. Natural strength and heavy hands that, when he shoots his hands, can knock back the offensive lineman and literally press their upper body backward. Ridgeway plays in a low stance where he is able to play with good leverage, which makes him a difficult player to move even with double teams. Not really a quick player, but his size and strength makes up for it. Played alot of 0-tech and was constantly fighting double teams, yet he brings it EVERY SNAP, dude has a NON STOP MOTOR. Not going to offer much in terms of the pass rush, but thats not why you draft a 0-tech NT
173. New York Giants
Zaquandre White
RB, South Carolina
-very good vision and patience when at the line of scrimmage, very good burst and straight-line speed to explode through the holes. For a bigger back, White shows an impressive ability to change direction. good overall power as a runner and has good contact balance. White is a versatile playmaker who offers value in the receiving game as well
182. New York Giants
Matt Araiza
P, San Diego State - AKA The Punt God, Dude has a BOOMING leg, i mean its absolutely ridiculous. He regularly boots 70yd punts like its nothing, he kicked an 86yd punt last season. Won the Ray Guy award for the best punter, He now holds the NCAA records for punting average in a season (51.19), punts over 50 yards (39), and punts over 60 yards (18)... Oh and he LOVES laying the wood and runs a 4.72

I'm also not getting the Alec Pierce secret...I put on a few game films of this kid and I see a possible NFL star. Day 3 steal from what I've watched.

Man both Burks and Dotson are falling out of the 1st on many big boards... Burks had a near Hakeem Nicks bad combine athleticly(yet Irvin was raving about him and his game tape the past 2 years show he is very Nicks like as a reciever..game changer) Dotson is probably one of many recievers that will fall due to other positions being so deep..

My crush with Pickens is well known. He is going to be a hell of a WR on the right team. But 5th best prospect? Damn it I guess he won't be available for us in the 3rd round anymore lol I still have Olave and Jameson Williams ahead of him. Also Drake London. A lot depends on where they get drafted and how they recover form those injuries though.

James Cook is a 2 down back ....Faalele is huge and can move, but has flaws I'm not sure anybody can fix. Not at 18. Pickens is not even the 5th best wide receiver The Buffalo big board is more realistic IMHO

No trades and how I'm starting to see this draft settle in regards to pro days, and my own views on players. Gardner will be taken over any of the edge players simply to to what we now value, and his immense talents. Penning is IMHO the best tackle in this years class...unless you are fine with Ikem as a guard with possible tackle versatility...which I am. Davis is a two down player, but for those two downs he is the best at it... and being able to help set up third and wink/Gardner pass...he does it best. And who knows playing at 340? We might get some new Davis and a three down player. Walker is the perfect clean up the victims heading through the hard to locate holes...Pitre will help the Wink defense as a great tackler who can play all over the field, from FS to SS...and even LB. We need a tight end, and we now have a hand machine whom catches everything, and runs perfect chain moving routes into zones. I have a man crush of Pierce since the senior bowl and the last two IOL are versatile, can play center or guard, and start in the NFL. I don't expect either to last past the 4th or 5th round.
5: R1 P5 CB Ahmad Gardner - Cincinnati
7: R1 P7 OT Trevor Penning - Northern Iowa
36: R2 P4 DL Jordan Davis - Georgia
67: R3 P3 LB Quay Walker - Georgia
81: R3 P17 S Jalen Pitre - Baylor
112: R4 P7 TE Greg Dulcich - UCLA
147: R5 P4 RB Dameon Pierce - Florida
173: R5 P30 G Dylan Parham - Memphis
182: R6 P3 C Nick Ford - Utah

Im willing to bet we trade one of our top picks.
Frist we need the draft capital, to fill out a roster with youth and rookie contracts. Plus, adding ammo for 2023 gives us insurance if we need to move up.
Second, we cant afford 2 top 7 rookie contracts right now in 2022. I know there is always ways to maneuver, but I think Schoen is thinking the same thing. Our cap space is very small, and 2 top 7 rookie contracts wont fit. I could see us trading one for a 1st rounder in 2023 and a 2nd rounder in 2022.

Kyle Unicorn Hamilton had his Pro Day. Former Irish safety said he ran a 4.56 🦄 in the 40-yard dash, which was his sole workout today. Hamilton said he’s already had Zoom meetings with the Seahawks, Giants and Saints. Bills up next.

The Kingdom is a wacky big board and should ve avoided ...they had Dean as the 1 overall a few weeks ago. James Cook is a 2 down back ....Faalele is huge and can move, but has flaws I'm not sure anybody can fix. Not at 18. Pickens is not even the 5th best wide receiver The Buffalo big board is more realistic IMHO The Buffalo board has been my favorite the past 2 months Unfortunately Sky Moore had been MIA from it for a long time as well

That would be perfect

So What if we identified a qb we can develop in case we can't get enough ammo to compete with Houston and Seattle in 2023 and would have to finish with a top 2 Pick in 2023 if we want a qb?
I like Jones still, but it's a very dangerous game of qb chicken with a qb on the last year as we don't excesize the option for 2023.
It is obvious nobody is wanting to give up what we want to move up,My guys say they can turn their chosen one into a top modern QB...
So...
5: R1 P5 QB Malik Willis - Liberty
After a last flurry of activity to move up I didn't get a bite for a 2023 1st so I said **** it,Willis it is,clean slate for qb for 4 years and will now rebuild around this guy...I'll put Jones on the market for a future Pick as I think I can get better value that way (a 2023 2nd from New Orleans works day 3 in the draft)
8: R1 P8 OT Charles Cross - Mississippi State
Had a minor bidding war for Pickett ..got a 2nd to move back one spot for the best pass protector in the 2023 draft as it's a passing league..
36: R2 P4 C Tyler Linderbaum - Iowa
Remember when he was a top 10 Pick? Not passing this guy up,will continue to build the wall for the new franchise qb and give him a great young center to grow with
43: R2 P11 DL Devonte Wyatt - Georgia
BPA..don't want to completely ignore the defense and the best way to add is build from the front and out...make tbe front 3 great again, helps everything behind it
67: R3 P3 WR George Pickens - Georgia
A year removed from his injury,a very deep class in a very deep draft theee guys will fall.I was targeting Sky Moore here but he went 2 picks ahead of me.Pickens will make Golladay expendable, even by maybe the trade deadline.
81: R3 P17 TE Charlie Kolar - Iowa State
Wanted Ruckert here, went 1 Pick ahead of me,took a similar style player, more reciever than blocker but still a great 2 way guy..
94: R3 P30 WR Khalil Shakir - Boise State
Modern NFL offenses are evolving to basketball on grass.More and none human joystick type dynamic playmakers are being deployed. Add him to Toney..
112: R4 P7 RB James Cook - Georgia
Bunch of backs log jammed here, took the explosive home run threat..because I want players all over the field that strike fear into opposing defenses.
147: R5 P4 TE Jake Ferguson - Wisconsin
Think Jake Ballard....another weapon who already has high end blocking in his game
173: R5 P30 CB Ja'Quan McMillian - East Carolina
I know people see I've traded Bradberry.. I repeat its a dead year, let's see what we have in Robinson while I add a day 3 guy that can be a backnend type guy.
182: R6 P3 G Lecitus Smith - Virginia Tech TRADES
This is how deep this class I'd He could possibly start as a rookie.. Adding this guy who could push Lemieux and/or Bredeson here is sick
Trade Partner: New Orleans Saints
Sent:
QB Daniel Jones Received:
Future Round 2 Pick Trade Partner: Atlanta Falcons
Sent:
Round 1 Pick 7
Received:
Round 1 Pick 8 Round 2 Pick 11 Trade Partner: Kansas City Chiefs
Sent:
CB James Bradberry Received:
Round 3 Pick 30
So,not only did I get a new franchise guy on a rookie deal but surrounded him with talent all over,O line and weapons. With probably over 100 million in cap space in 2023 and a top 15 picks and an extra 2nd ..

Why does everyone just assume yep he’s a franchise guy. He hasn’t demonstrated the smarts to command an nfl offense as a franchise qb. People are falling in love with his athletic profile, but the tape doesn’t lie. He screams bust.

Every post reads "if" the Giants feel he is the franchise .... even GL's post reads the same. Not a single poster assumes WILLIS will be the franchise. However, if the Giants as an organization feel he could be the franchise ...these play mocks simply play off the same what if. If you feel you know all about Willis from your reading articles, watching tape or what you feel in your bones...that's a respect your opinion situation. You're on record as saying he screams bust. I tend to suggest he either is a bust, or home run. Low floor, and high ceiling...with all the traits of a modern QB. I guess so does every scout from underwear fans to the paid to observe staff. I respect your opinion on how you feel....but again, "everyone" does not assume he is the franchise guy. BTW...hate to be the GM who trades away a boom pick and keeps a bust. ... I assure all fans will be complaining just a bit if we trade the 5 or 7, Willis is taken by that team trading up...we keep Jones who more then likely busts out... and proceed to get some large bulldog DT in the middle first with a bunch of future picks... while Willis becomes the next big thing. This is also possible, trading away or passing on a franchise...and will be as much a GM killer as taking Willis and having him scream bust.

This is also possible, trading away or passing on a franchise...and will be as much a GM killer as taking Willis and having him scream bust. Could not have said this better.. I'm one of the "wait till 2023" guys myself but also realize that we have to see what we are against competition wise for one of the better guys in 2023 already Houston right now is a top 5 pick team this year and with 4 1sts the next 2 years. You also have to figure the team with the 1st overall pick (unless one of the teams that has an extra 1st has received that golden ticket this year via a trade and is set)will be looking qb? So that's Bryce and Stroud right there .. And exactly what this draft is all about, adjusting the draft to get as complete team around the new qb as possible asap unlike Gucken Fettleman who built the team like it was prehistoric times and you could keep the training wheels on a young qb for a few years (because back then the forward pass was a luxury for teams like this) You should see the hate I'm getting on BBV for this draft "yOu iGnOrEd lInEbAcKeRs"(a mortal sin on that site) wHaT aBoUt tHe dEfEnSe...defense.... Sorry You gamble on a young qb in the first, everything gets pre empted....our defense is still decent enough to hold the fort this year while the offense develops....and if we luck into a boom and we surrounded the guy with a lot of young talent on that side of the ball.(my scenario we got rid of Golladay for a younger upgrade on a rookie deal, another human joystick to go with Toney and 2 starting TEs,2 day one starting O linemen and a potential starting guard ,means even though we probably lose Shep and Slayton in FA we have the cap space to possibly get some cheap mid or back end roster playmakers and a mid round /day 3 playmaker on a rookie deal),over 100 million in cap space and already 2 extra day 2 picks in 2023 to add to our draft to build out the defense,re up guys that play good with lots of year 1 guaranteed money frontloaded (why teams that always have cap space and are good have this),get one piece on defense ...

(IMHO, best get to the QB guy in this draft with both the technique and athleticism ...but can he learn to play 3 downs and stop the run?) 67: R3 P3 DL Travis Jones - UConn 78: R3 P14 LB Christian Harris - Alabama 81: R3 P17 LB Quay Walker - Georgia 98: R3 P34 G Dylan Parham - Memphis 101: R3 P37 TE Greg Dulcich - UCLA 112: R4 P7 RB James Cook - Georgia 120: R4 P15 CB Josh Jobe - Alabama 147: R5 P4 C Nick Ford - Utah 173: R5 P30 CB Zyon McCollum - Sam Houston State 182: R6 P3 S Yusuf Corker - Kentucky TRADES Trade Partner: New Orleans Saints Sent: Round 1 Pick 7 Received: Round 1 Pick 18 Round 2 Pick 17 Round 3 Pick 34 Round 3 Pick 37 Round 4 Pick 15 Trade Partner: Cleveland Browns Sent: Round 2 Pick 4 Received: Round 2 Pick 12 Round 3 Pick 14 The piss of every Giant fan draft...yet, oddly I can see this happening Buffalo Big Board 5: R1 P5 QB Malik Willis - Liberty (I'm not believing he can become the guy....seems too laid back vs a Josh Allen who had this insane desire to become the best...still the biggest ceiling by a mile in the most important position on any sport...gamble worth the 5 pick in this spot?...I think it might just be) 7: R1 P7 CB Ahmad Gardner - Cincinnati (sorry, he's coming off before any edge on our board) 36: R2 P4 OT Bernhard Raimann - Central Michigan (day 1 starting right tackle) 67: R3 P3 EDGE Arnold Ebiketie - Penn State (insane talent in round 3...easy choice0 81: R3 P17 TE Greg Dulcich - UCLA 112: R4 P7 LB Quay Walker - Georgia 147: R5 P4 RB Dameon Pierce - Florida 173: R5 P30 C Nick Ford - Utah 182: R6 P3 G Cade Mays - Tennessee Wow Wow Wow A violent Oline,a.dynAmic route running demon that can be moved all over the formation and perfect for the Daboll/Kafka offense (1st draft) Now add in all the other goodies (a pass rush specialist a dynamic home run threat RB]
