i’d understand it from a cap/business sense. But i’d love to see some overlap deal with Logan Ryan as there is an out in Ryan’s contract after 2022.
Kind of interesting that It’s gonna come down to how well McKinney plays.

Just an article pointing out he's an impending free agent. Literally no information on which way it could go. If he has a great year, I'd bet on him staying.
Personally, don't want to lose Peppers either. Really like him as a player.

Peppers could price himself out of our range if he continues to progress, that's true. But I don't know if Ryan will still be starting here when he's 32. In 2022 I could see McKinney and an entirely new Safety.

It's comical to claim that Logan Ryan would be the reason the Giants don't resign Peppers..
Peppers hopefully has a great year but with that comes an inflated contract so it would be interesting to see just how much..

Ryan is old and no guarantees after this season.
Peppers will be a NYG and Ryan wont unless he restructures in 2022 and beyond.

Kind of interesting that It’s gonna come down to how well McKinney plays. It has to do with Peppers not McKenny . If they need to free cap space to retain him . They options. If Peppers says yes . The can let Ryan walk. If Peppers says no . They Have Ryan under contract. A brilliant move by the FO to place that clause in Ryan's contract.

Abrems seems to have done a masterful job cap wise even with the spending spree, what I have been reading is they will be tight in 2022 but they shouldn't have to go heavy Free agents that year anyway with 7 picks in the top 4 rounds of 2022 draft and 3 late rounders. Supposedly they are good to go after 2022 so Peppers can certainly be a Giant for years to come it depends on what he wants and how much they want to throw at the safety position. Love seems to be a carbon copy of Ryan career wise he just found his way to safety a little faster smart instinctive player he can help fill the void if they choose Pep.

The author must get paid by the word. He crammed 100lbs of shit in a 5lbs bag. When all he had to say was Peppers is an impending free agent. I wouldn’t call it click bait, more like click nonsense..

Oh well. Seems like nobody sticks around here for very long anymore anyway. Getting used to this sort of thing. Every team has the same issue and when you pick up good players, the downside is you can't pay them all.. There were people on here upset we didn't try to retain Landon Collins I'm sure. And actually, Collins going to be so cheap, we can re-sign him to replace Peppers after Washington cuts him ...but we don't want or need him. Strong Safeties are easier to replace than Free Safeties, so let him walk...But we also better let Saquon walk as well unless he wins MVP this season. At least we will get more comp picks unlike in Reese days when no one signed our free agents.

Looks like it was a slow day for the writer and he had to come up with something.

They'll be tight against the cap but there are a few move they'll have open up to them after this season, including releasing Soldier and Shepard that would free up a fair amount of space. It also could depend on how they structure the deal as well given Ryan's contract.
Much will really depend on how different guys play this year.
What if (hopefully) Carter has that breakout year and now we'd have to pay him? What if Hernandez has a great season?
It's not really a horrible problem to have if it means a bunch of our younger players are playing well.

People here said the Giants wouldn't be able to sign anyone this offseason because Gettleman screwed up the cap. $200M in spending later...

Ryan and Peppers aren't even the same type of safety. If Peppers leaves it's not because of Ryan.
