This year in 17 games the old standards have gone by the way side. A 4,000 yd passer is less than 250 a game. What starter shouldn't reach that mark ? I'm expecting Jones to be significantly over 4,000 yds even running the ball with Barkley. Hell 280 yds a game is close to 4,500 yds for the season. A few TD passes would be nice too.
A 1,000 yd RB or WR so what. What is it 55 yds per game, 28 yds per half ? Our 2nd and 3rd receivers could hit 1,000 yds. Dallas comes to mind immediately. Imagine what "Air Coryell " would do in 17 games with the new rules. WHEW ! Marino in 17 games with a third wideout and todays rules, OH BOY !
I think we actually have 5 receivers beside our #1 Goladay that could have 1,000 yds. Now not all of them in one year but realistic potential to reach that number. Barkley, EE, Slayton, Toney, and Shep. I do feel these 5 could reach 700-800 yds apiece and it shouldn't be a stretch in 17 games.
And Ross and Pettis have the speed but I just don't see how they get that many targets, there's only 1 football.

True the standards have changed, however it is also only one more game added. If the Giants play like they did in 2020, it really won't matter how many yards per game they need because they still wouldn't have reached those marks.

Score more points. Have a higher red zone percentage. Only the Jets were worse in PPG last year.

20 QBs had 235+ yards per game last year. So 4,000 yards should be attainable. I do think you are down playing 1,000 yards for a WR or RB though. "What is 55 yards per game", well what is 58 yards per game? The average barely changed lol. It's not suddenly meaningless because of 1 extra game. It means pretty much the same as before.
My expectations is that we can score. I expect that the game doesn't end when we fall behind. I expect adding Golladay, Barkley, Jones, Toney and Rudolph to this offense that we perform better than 31st. Top 15 at least, top 10-5 potential.
It all starts and ends with health though. Everyone on this offense (other than the OL) has health issues. Tremendous potential though. Now go prove it.

Someone throw cold water on Rich, he’s going off the rails talking about the offense again. Why don’t we just say every skill position will get 1,000 yards? Except, Engram. He’s the Antichrist.. We have more questions on our offense than the bar exam. Jones is suspect, Barkley is coming off an injury, same goes for Golladay and Ross lives in the trainers room. Let’s not forget the second most important position on the field. The offensive line is a bunch of kids who need to learn on the fly. Yeah, it’s nice to have big expectations. Just, be prepared for the high fall if you don’t see them.

But I agree 1 game barely changes the dynamics needed to reach a certain goal. I was just stating that what once was considered a good season is just that much more watered down and that we have a number of players that have the talent to reach this figure. And God knows we need to score more than 17pts per game average. Of course were all concerned with Jones, Barkley and the OL to remain healthy through out the season.

After last years offense I can't help but get excited over what our offense can do. You know our OL the last 6 games last year improved like night and day maybe we can start from there and improve on that ? I know sunshine and flowers. But everything together just improving a little could be eye opening. Say the OL is starting from the improvement at the end, Barkley actually stays healthy, the receivers actually make the offense potent. Now of course Jones has to do everything better and stay healthy. Now he probably does improve from last year with everything around him just being a little better. Hey anything here can go sideways but until it does why not embrace the good things that can happen. Don't worry there's going to be plenty to gripe about too. I'm just waiting for the first dropped pass by Engram. I got my Scotch ready.

He's the QB for the New York Giants duh. Haha. I mean him being healthy and hopefully playing all year. We were scoring 24 points a game the 6 games before Jones' injury (after the first 4 games of the year when we started to click, we'll call those preseason games).
After his injury, the final 5 games, we averaged 13 points a game. If our OL can just stay as good as last year (shouldn't be hard) and we add healthy Jones, Barkley, Golladay, Toney and Rudolph we should be able to score 24+ a game rather easily. 24-25 ppg puts us right at the 50% mark of the league which would be a huge improvement.
I don't expect to have two 1,000 yard receivers though. Shep has had 90+ targets and 65+ catches three times and never broke 900. He's a stud but is a short route Steve Smith type. Slayton averages 15 yards per catch on his career but gets 750 each season. Even with the extra game I only see Golladay reaching 1,000 yards. It's still a tough mark because you have to be consistent and healthy.

As for our injuries. What are the odds we don't suffer a major injury in the skill positions? Literally every starter is an injury concern. This is when I would just shut injuries off in Madden and not worry.

HaHa Mike, I thought you were talking about receivers. lol, Don't worry Mike I'll catch up with the rest of the class. I agree . I expect to increase our average 7 pts a game or more. I wouldn't be shocked if we added 10 pts to our average and I'm serious. We could have 5 -6 players with 700 or more yds receiving. Goladay, Barkley, Shep, Toney, Slayton, EE, I don't think this is far fetched. After last years offense this would seem like "The Greatest Show on Turf " offense.

I’m down.. Let me give it a whirl.. The NY Giants are in position that they haven’t been in sometime. They got young talent, mixed with veterans. Hungry players who all but bought in to what Judge is selling them. The front office was aggressive this offseason, giving these coaches players to work with. This team is going to the playoffs, and will surprise some of the most critical doubters.. See, that wasn’t so bad. Now, excuse me. I’m going to puke..
