Holy s**t...... batman
Just rumors for now he has to become available - 1st and the Texans have to accept what the iggles have to offer. If I were them, I would go for a King and Queens ransom, most of the royal family and throw in the court jester just for kicks

Not a rumor, just some moron saying that the Eagles would be well positioned if the legal mess is cleared up. These types of articles are being spit out by "journalists" at a furious rate because nothing else is happening right now.

the reports on Watsons off field behavior here in Houston are really nasty and I don't know how he can overcome them, if one of us was involved in something like this we would already be in prison. Actually I really like Watson as a football player and never would have suspected him of behavior like this, just goes to show that you can't tell about people...

Watson has the money to settle. He could set these women up for life. I would think the league has to suspend him for at least 1 year minimum without pay.
I would be surprised if any team wants him to be the face of their organization. But yet teams signed Michael Vick and I never thought that was going to happen. Who knows what this league will do. Remember it's about money.
As far as the Eagles having the ammo for a trade they have it. Next year they get three 1st rd picks. And they could throw in Hurts if they want Watson. Houston would probably not get a better offer.

That's why I was curious what the off field behavior reports were since there is not much public information being released.

That's why I was curious what the off field behavior reports were since there is not much public information being released. This the latest on his legal troubles . It is not looking good for him. sportsnaut.com/texans-qb-deshaun-watson-return-latest-2023/If you look at the timeline on this, barring a drastic sea change, Deshaun Watson will not be playing in an NFL game until the very minimum 2023. That’s the earliest. How did I get to that point? He’s going to be put on the Commissioner’s Exempt List – that’s going to happen likely in the next month before training camp opens up.”

Ok.... to respond to the existential angst here; Stat-wise Watson is incredible but he had those stats on a 4 -12 Texan team. No one player can lift a team or make that team good. However if he goes to a playoff caliber team that maybe need an upgrade at QB, then that could be significant...Say fer example he went to the football team in Washington, who already have a fearsome front 4 and a quality D, they could make some noise acquiring him...Iggles? Ha! A dumpster fire would be more stable of an organization (yet watch us lose to them at least once this year ) Denver makes sense too and maybe Vegas (baby)... Texans hold all the cards here. They will hold out for a King's ransom and get it

He very well may be placed on the exempt list this year. If he gets criminal charges against him. He may be exempt next year as well. What GM wants that debacle attached to a trade he orchestrated.? Talk about packing your own box. If his legal troubles go in the wrong direction. He may be done period.

the only franchise I can think of at this moment who would take on a player with that kind of baggage would be the cowboys, they have never had high standards when it comes to acquiring players so Watson might make a good fit there...

Due to the aforementioned legal troubles I don't think the Texans hold all the cards. Given the baggage Watson may have, they may have to cut him. Smart teams may wait that out or wait until more info is out and the Texans may have to decide between keeping him or getting reduced compensation to ship him out of town.

Don’t kid yourself. Every team would take a chance on a troubled player who has great potential. We knowingly gave Josh Brown a contract with a domestic abuse case.

Texans are holding their ass unfortunately...... If they are lucky they get a get out of jail free card from a catastrophic dead money hit if his legal troubles is seen as conduct detrimental...... Unfortunately they can't even tank because Tyrod Taylor is too good at being a game manager /mistake free qb where they can win 5 to 6 games and the Eagles have all the firepower to clinch the number 1 spot if needed

I disagree. Pretty much every team in the league is willing to give players the full benefit of the doubt if that player is talented. If Watson was Matt Barkley, he would have already been cut. If DeAndre Baker had shown that he was the real deal, he would still be on this roster. The Giants morals are just like every other team's morals. If you need proof, just look at how they handled Josh Brown. They even doubled down on him publicly, which was actually lame. Talent increases tolerance, if you know what I mean.

Was speaking more to players who have yet establish themselves. Watson is a star, and if I’m the Eagles I’m moving mountains to acquire him.

you guys may be right about Watson and I'm wrong in what I wrote because its ALL about winning and Watson is a game changer at QB, which asks the question how much can a player crap his pants and still be acceptable to a franchise...

As long as he’s still playing at a high level. Teams will eat shit every day of the week, and twice on Sundays.

Don't care.....**** Philthy. Also I want the NYGs to be a great team. I dont want them to be the better team just because the other team sucks. This may be an unpopular opinion but I'd much rather have an easy division than a competitive one where you possibly have 3 playoff teams. Take a look at the AFC North and in particular the Ravens-Steelers games. Usually teams that face them the week after their rivalry game benefit because those players are physically and mentally drained. The Patriots didn't complain that they had a terrible division, in fact it was one of the main reason they went to 9 Superbowls and won 6 of them over the span of 2 decades.

I guess I figure if the NFCE is a competitive Div then it gets you prepared to beat good teams going forward.

Reason #451 this rumor is simply that, a rumor: The eagles have zero ability to fit Watson under the salary cap this year (especially with all the Wentz dead money) and the years after that as well. They'd have to gut their roster to do so.

what is it that makes certain teams play excellent football every year and certain teams bottom feeders, is it quality management or excellent coaching or a combination of both, I ask because I don't understand why any team like the Giants or Cleveland and teams like them hit bottom and stay there, this is something that I truly don't understand...
