I guess it's better if they get it early in camp vs the regular season. I wonder if Toney spread it to them. It does usually take like 2-12 days to incubate. If this isn't a case for the players to get the vaccine, I don't know what is...

The vaccine also protects against severe infection and hospitalization. It doesn't provide blanket immunity. Besides, I was under the impression that over 80 percent of the team had the vaccine already. Anyone who got hit hard by that pos virus would be first in line to get the vaccine. I don't give a shit politics. You start having breathing problems and everything get really simple....

Was just trying to say it reinforces their decision and should encourage any that didn't to get it. I was under the impression that high percentage of players got it already so wasn't trying to make anyone look bad. Ill be more specific going forward.

if this Delta Variant spreads like they say this season will be like last. Postponements and other assorted curve balls I know 5 people that tested positive for the delta All 5 had traditional cold symptoms and mild ones at that, where as up until now it was rare to have sneezing/stuffy nose type symptoms... All were over in in 3 days... Dunno if they had the vaccine or not but this seems to be what the virus has morphed into.....another version of the many versions of colds that are out there.... Which is what many scientists predicted this would eventually do.

Ooh a covid thread. This should be fun. "Die anti-vaxer" "Die stupid sheep".
Anyway. This sucks but we have no idea where or how he got it. It does not seem likely that Toney gave it to him lol.

if this Delta Variant spreads like they say this season will be like last. Postponements and other assorted curve balls Every time it mutates, it becomes more contagious It is evolving in the wrong direction. It keeps getting better at what it does . At some point it may become more deadly. Why if people get vaccinated there will be less hosts for it to be able to mutate.

Governor Murphy's stats are misleading but he's a politician so it is to be expected. He or someone on his staff should stop him from tweeting incorrect information. The absolute numbers may be correct but you CANNOT state that the vaccine is 99.88% effective unless you are certain that every one of the totally vaccinated was exposed to COVID after full vaccination. He repeats that same mistake two more times.

He repeats that same mistake two more times. Yea, was going to post the same thing. In order for the numbers in his tweet to be true, then all of the vaccinated people would have had to been exposed to covid and subsequently tested to see if they got the virus asymptomatically.

If that happens, and this becomes much more deadly, it could make the great depression look like a summer picnic. Right now, people are ok with the minimal risk and the risk to the elderly and immune compromised. If the young start dieing like the elderly were at the beginning of the pandemic, it might take 20 years or more to recover and the rest of our lives will be in pandemic mode... What a stinking pile of never ending shit.

Better to get the damn virus now and get it over with. Lets just get Martinez healthy. It will give another LBer more snaps to try and make the team. We have like 11-12 LBers trying to make this team. If only it were that simple. It can be contracted again even after getting it once or even multiple times previously. What I wonder is what happens in Martinez's case since he was vaccinated and all the breakthrough cases for that matter after you contract it after being vaccinated and then recover. Are you like invincible to Covid at that point? Or, is it just like the common cold or even the flu. Perhaps it is like contracting the Flu even though you got a Flu shot for that Flu season.

It's time we all just accepted that reality and hope we stay healthy and avoid severe illness vaccinated or not.

From what I've seen it seems to be mutating into a common cold type thong with this new variation... Viruses rarely or ever get more deadly as they mutate especially as your body gets used to being exposed to it

Are you like invincible to Covid at that point? Since he is vaccinated, the impact of the virus are reduced (extremely low potential for hospitalization and death). With each new variant, the virus changes and can be reinfected. Everyone talks about following the science. Lol, the science can change with new variants. It's a shit show and may take years and years....

You don't see 80,000 new cases a day of the common cold in July... Per the bold, in the US in July, your point is possible but there is not a means of detecting how many colds people are catching per day, never has been. 80,000 in a country that is this size may not be all that much in the grand scheme of things even in July. Children alone constantly catch colds all year long. Believe me I know, I worked as a day camp counselor (not even sleep away camp) for 6 straight summers. After a few weeks of twice a day swimming, particularly in the cooler summers during those years, the children would be getting colds left and right. Some would still be sent into the camp, not pleasant for me, other counselors/staff nor the other campers! Granted of this 80,000 number (or whatever the count is in the US) how many are kids who cannot be vaccinated and I mean are parents even testing kids for Covid the day they show initial symptoms or at all at any point in time during their bout with symptoms? Highly unlikely so hard to say if that number includes children under the age of 12 or any teenagers not yet vaccinated who are also prone to getting sick on the regular. Unless there's a stat out there for it, hard to know.

Also seems that treating the sympathy has improves over the year as well..

Small percentage wise and in line with the vaccine efficacy rates. The only problem with all these % is that it is based solely on known cases. There were so many more cases of Covid that we had no idea even happened, those don't make numbers look good though. I take anything that someone in the government says with a grain of salt. I would imagine, if the vaccine works as it should, that there will be more people with little or no symptoms which means even greater number of infected that never report.
The only reason I found out I had it was because they did antibody tests on entire military units. You would be shocked at the number of people that had the antibody but zero symptoms.
