The problem with 10 is that it could be a tease. Remember this is a 17-game season, not 16. 11 would be a dramatic turnaround and clear evidence that the young roster is beginning to lift the franchise back. This is what I find confusing from some folks. Coming from 6 wins in year three, a "dramatic" turnaround is the only thing that would be acceptable.
A mediocre season in year 4, after three seasons of 15-33 would be disheartening to say the least.
And to me, 9-8 would be mediocre.
It would be terrible for me. I am tired of losing and 9-8 is a losing season for me. It is a losing season because it means that after all this time (and all this FA $) we are still not competing to be one of the better teams in the league (top 10 or so).

we're not quite there yet. I think theres still another year before real relevance. not to say we cant have a 'good' year, or maybe even take the division. I think theyll be on the cusp, so ill go with 9 wins, which to me IS a successful season if we break a .500 record.
the optimistic side of me thinks the defense could be really good, with even some pass rushing surprises, and jones finally locking in as our qb. the negative side of me still thinks the defense will be good but the offense is a bit of a mess still.
I dont like to put it all on the qb, but I cant remember a year where so much really is riding on how the qb plays. jones HAS to 'get it'. i dont care if the oline is still a work in progress, unless its a total disaster jones has to make it work, hes athletic, he can move around, but he needs to have awareness and read the field and make things happen out of nothing sometimes.
