NFL head coach had to explain to the media how and why he curses during football practice. The head coaches should be role models for the players and be a shoulder to cry on. Players don't like meanies anymore and need safe spaces for mental relaxation. In all seriousness, he didn't need to explain crap. That coach should grow a sack and stuff some balls in there....

This is your breaking point ? I’ve been embarrassed of the giants for nearly a decade 😂
In all seriousness..the problem is social media. All these reporters need stories to make money, even if they’re bizarre

So giving murderers, rapists and women beaters millions of dollars to entertain the masses didn't embarrass you but talking about cursing did? Odd.
There is a reason that I refer to them as "the media" and not journalists. Journalism is completely dead. Video killed the radio star and the internet killed the journalist. Their story doesn't have to pass an editor anymore or compete for print space or even be remotely accurate or true...it just has to get clicks.

So many other things to be embarrassed about the NFL so this one is way down on the list for me.. Well actually it doesn't even register as an issue for the NFL but with society in general it does..

It only registers for the entitled buttercups that have no personal accountability and want to blame everyone else for their failures

When I was in Marine Corps boot camp at Parris Island in 1990, they used to refer to this as the "Mothers of America". When we were in garrison Drill Instructors had to put on a show, they wouldn't cuss at us but had many other creative ways of making their point, but when we were in the field, there were no rules.
I get sensitivity to a point, but you are already in a sport where the goal is to bash someone's head in to move an inanimate object a specific amount of distance.

The reporter asked Judge about Kelvin Benjamin comments that he would never make it to the superbowl, he curses all the time, and that Judge sabotaged him. Judge only responded on the part about the cursing so he didnt have to comment on the other two questions, it was actually pretty smart on his part to just focus on the cursing.

Judge is a sophomore coach who took over one of the worst teams in the league and who the hell knows if he will ever coach a Superbowl team. What I know from the Giants roster is that this isn't a Superbowl caliber team at this point in time. Hell, this team may not even be a playoff caliber team. A lot of players need to take big steps forward in order for this team even to be a one and done playoff team. Good point about choosing the best way to answer a question. Judge seems to have a knack for handling the media.

Shifting gears I remember when athletes used to be applauded for their mental fortitude in the face of adversity....I mean at the professional/olympic level ones ability to handle the pressure of the situation in front of you versus your opponent is the difference between winning and losing most of the time.....but now when those athletes crack under the pressure they cry "mental health!!!!".....GTFOH......you blew it.....you couldn't cut the mustard this time....own up to it.....don't cower behind some lame excuse.....there's a big difference between clinical mental health issues and choking under the pressure.....it's nauseating and those with true mental sickness and those medical professionals in that industry should be disgusted at these athletes repeatedly using that crutch.

I agree with the person that said journalism is dead. Newspapers are an endangered species. Any sports channel you turn it to these days have some clown on TV screaming their opinion and/or some clown coming up with a hot take. Hot take ho's and shock jocks have replaced real journalists.

I think that you're being way too harsh on the athletes. No one "cries" mental health. They cite it. Your type of reaction is why most people (athletes in this case) with these issues are hesitant to admit them. Junior Seau for example hid his issues with mental health and CTE, mainly because he felt ashamed. I honestly think it takes a lot of courage to admit those issues. Downplaying them and accusing them of faking it couldn't be any more ridiculous.

Nah....I was clear...if it's clinical it's warranted....my GUESS is most aren't these days.....the "yips" and clinical mental health issues are two completely different things.....but that line is being blurred these days by all these whiners.

Yes. This is why they don't call it PTSD anymore, it's just PTS...because it's a normal reaction. It's not a mental health issue if you could not handle to pressure, it's a fact of life that effects everyone some just overcome it better. The skills of people entering the league are all very close, some adjust to rigors of the life better than others.

Yep, he was real good at it. That was the 60's or early 70's and they were rushing Devil Dogs out to get them to Viet Nam. In Boot Camp I was in 1st Battalion near the front of Parris Island around all the big wigs so they had to play nice during "business hours". 3rd Battalion was further back and from my understanding they caught big time hell.

When deadlines are do in the newsroom, there is plenty of cursing by the editor. I would have asked them if their editor ever cursed. I'm sure they would have laughed.

I wish Judge answered the media like The Dude does in The Big Lebowski when The Stranger asks “I got one question for you Dude, do you have to use some many cuss words?” and The Dude answers “What the **** are you talking about?”

i don’t wanna speak for the op, but i understand a certain disdain for the hypocrisy and duality of it all:
Choke slammed the mother of your child onto a pile of illegal machine guns? Here’s a contract.
Curse at football practice? Explain yourself!
I’m not embarrassed by it. Just make a mental note and chuckle at the circus that it all is

The no editor or publisher to filter the BS is huge. The public doesnt understand these safeguards no longer exist.

Explaining why he curses is no big deal. At least he is cursing!!
Also its different to get verbally and profanely abused than a a HC just cursing "normally" at practice.
**** it.....who gives a **** anyway....

“The cussing part?’’ Judge said. “I mean, look, I’ve got some colorful language. When we’re out at practice, you watch, you guys can figure that out. Listen, I know how to clean it up at the right time. I don’t curse in front of, you know, my wife. I don’t curse in front of your kids, your wife, grandmothers, my mother, whatever it is.’’ nypost.com/2021/07/29/giants-joe-judge-responds-to-kelvin-benjamin-cussing-critique/

Kelvin Benjamin has took the honors as the biggest pussy. An achievement Madonna has had for decades. Cursing has been going on in the NFL since the days of leather helmets. Pushing a player to his max involves plenty of expletives. You don’t like it? Work in the clergy..
