RB Saquon BarkleyThe first player in Giants history to begin his career with back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons returned to the field. He was limited to individual drills, but that didn't slow him down one bit. After saying he accomplished all he could while working with trainers off to the side, he relished the opportunity to return to the field with his teammates and attacked everything he was allowed to do. Barkley addressed the media after practice and said what most people don't understand about coming back from ACL injuries is it's not about how you feel at the beginning of the week; it's about how you finish. WR Kadarius ToneyThe Giants have another dynamic playmaker ramping back up in Kadarius Toney, the first-round pick out of the University of Florida. Toney took on more today and found a rhythm with Daniel Jones. "I see a guy who's doing a good job taking it from the meeting to the field," Judge said over the weekend. "For any young guy, it's important to demonstrate that you can just hear the call, relay it, line up and play. He's been really good in terms of transferring the material within the details within the assignment, and that's been really good. I think he's a guy that, obviously we've talked about before, this guy really does love football and shows up, and just his energy on the field, the way he smiles and goes about it. Look, it's exciting for us to have all these rookies when we get a chance to coach them. Having KT out there and doing more and more each day -- he'd spent some time ramping up. We're still phasing him in a little bit but doing more and more each day. It's all been positive." QB Daniel JonesNo one was happier to see his playmakers come back than Jones, who was on point throughout Monday's practice. But the target of his best throw was someone who has been full-go since the start of camp – tight end Evan Engram. "I think the biggest thing through camp for me, for any position, is understanding it's a process," Jones said. "It's not being caught up in the results or trying to evaluate if it was a good day or a bad day. There's lessons you've got to learn from each day and focus on that, focus on improving here and there and not really getting into judging a day or evaluating a day or evaluating a string of days. It's about building something and trusting that process." www.giants.com/news/saquon-barkley-returns-kadarius-toney-daniel-jones-training-camp-standouts

Look, if Engram can finally live up to his potential this year, I'll get off his ass. He's obviously not getting traded so let's hope he can get it together.

I am totally with you JBB but I am not counting on it. I can't recall a single guy with those flaws fixing them miraculously in year 4. Here's hoping he does.

This would be 3 playmakers with speed. Imagine if we could count on these 3 every week. I am so hopeful to see this happen.

Maybe Engram's career is gonna be productive TE rather than elite star. And you know what, that's fine. If he catches the ball, and creates some mismatches sometimes, that's great. The Giants don't need him to be Travis Kelce.
Glad to hear he's had a good camp though.

Wow I'm surprised to see him bumped up the the 1st team, he was just moved to the 2nd team a few days ago. Good on him, must be impressing people. It's very good to hear him grasping the position so well. He does not have a ton of experience so this is a good sign. Easily the most exciting player we added this year.

He did miss a bunch of time this offseason so it was a matter of how fast, not if. His time with the #2s didn't last long lol. The only thing that would have held him back was his knowledge and that doesn't seem to be an issue.

They gave Shepard some rest and Golloday is out, that's why Toney got some reps with the first team. I don't think Shep and Golloday have any worries about losing their starting jobs at least at this point.

The kid will be part of the game plan no matter where he is on the depth chart I don't disagree. The best way he can be used at this point is off the bench filling in all around the line of scrimmage. Shepard also plays outside, he’s not just a slot, so there is alot of flexibility with Golloday, Shep and Toney.

I don't think anyone is jumping for joy because Toney caught a pass. It's more a discussion about his knowledge of the playbook and him earning the right to play with the ones. On the flip side if the coach said "Toney really needs to work on his playbook knowledge" I would be right there with you being pissed about it, but if he misses a catch I'm not going to flip out.
Bit of a difference IMO.
Same with Barkley. No one is commenting how smooth and fast he was on some big run he had, it's more "hey look Barkley looks to be healing". As you said it's very promising.

More a comment about he must be impressing the coaches if they are moving him up like that. He doesn't have to take a job but he has to earn the trust/respect of the coaches.

Thanks for the response but it doesn't has anything to do with my comment and I'm still wondering how you came up with it.. I'm certainly not "pissed" about any player with this team especially a 1st year one.. Now if you want to claim me being pissed about the worse rebuilding of an oline in history that's going on I feel that would be a correct statement..

Just using Toney as an example and not saying you are actually pissed. Pointing out the difference from being upset at a missed play in practice vs being upset about a lack of effort or knowledge ect. Same with being positive about having knowledge or impressing coaches vs making a nice catch.

He's clearly still one of our top playmakers right up to the point where ball meets hands. I expect him to be a mismatch in our favor every time he lines up. You take chances with a guy with his talent. Just hope he's not a 50/50 TD/TO like last year.
