I like the tandem of Rudolf and Smith out there...2 guys who know how to block and can catch the ball.

I'm excited to, hopefully, see this entire offense on the field together. The talent is there I'm worried about all the injury concerns though.

Off the pup list "soon" is not an indication of Game readiness. Rudolph has not had any workout activities since the beginning of December ( 9 months) I still say he won't be ready until week 4 or 5 of the season. If at all..... The season starts in 19 days. Do guy think he is going to be ready is 2 weeks? Half the board is adamant Saquon will not be ready week one. He is 24 years old. He has been workingout on the sidelines throughout camp and before camp. A 31 year old is going to heal quicker? He has been a no show so far. Week 4 or 5 even if he does get on the field He is the definition of an aging player who is probably done. His story has been told by countless ageing players that have come before him . He ain't turning back the clock 3 years.

Injury updates have been so Patriot-esque. I was reading last week that Rudolph was nowhere near ready and could be missing the first 6 games on PUP and now we are seeing video of him running routes and likely coming off the PUP this week.
Hopefully he gets activated this week and can involved in some individuals. All he needs to be is a Red Zone presence, especially the first half of the season.

Why I think it he is at best week 5 or 6 . He has not had any route timing with DJ. No blocking assignment coordination with any of the OTs. If they are not on the same page. It is no more than 2 guys standing next to each other.

I'm glad he's progressing to the point of getting back on the practice field hopefully that means he'll be suiting up on Sundays real soon.. I don't get the need to guess when he's coming back or compare him to other injured player's situations. LOL

He knows what his job is, and he'll be out there with the offense as soon as he’s physically able to play.

My bad, it’s basically the same information though. Nothing but speculation by the press on Rudolph's timetable.

When they said foot surgery a few weeks ago I figured he'd maybe be back by mid October. Just a guess

In the article it reads potential controversy which I do not see, the Giants made the offer in good faith and a win win by signing Kyle as a reliable blocker and red zone target.
He's doing everything he can to heal and be on the field. I am sure he wants to out there as well so knowing it's a long season, if it takes a game or two be 100%, then I can live with that so long as he performs to expectation.

I agree that there is no controversy. He was never supposed to be THE guy for Jones. He is a 40 catch 4 TD guy on average and would be a good end of the line blocker and an occasional red zone target. If the NYGs have to wait some games before he gets in it wont hurt their overall plans.

when the media gets hold of a story that most fans are interested in its time to look out for a lot of media enhancement and professional speculation...

Friendly reminder that all of this is pure speculation by a media member. The sentence literally reads, "Rudolph taking part in any sort of football activity is a big step forward, and could be an indication that he is about to come off the PUP list..." Reports from the media are pure speculation?!?!? When we come back, a report on the roundness of the earth. Now a word from our sponsors............

If one individual isn't synchronized with the rest of the performers, the whole production collapses.

Right, but it’s not rocket science either. He's a veteran, he's been studying the offense all summer. He’s not going to be an 80% snap guy, so there's no reason he couldn't jump right in and run some basic TE hook, curl, or slant routes. Rudolph without much practice is still better than any of the other TE's outside Engram. It'll be the same for Golloday, who's going to get a steep learning curve having had only one full practice. Once cleared, I don't expect either to be that effective right away, but these guys have to play.

The Vikings had a different OC in each of those seasons plus he missed 4 games last season.

Personally, I don't expect much from Rudolph. This will be his 11th season. He's very near the end of his career. I have high expectations for many other players, just not him.

It doesn't look like it, but I'd like to think he could be a valuable addition during an important stretch.

As a blocking and red zone specialist he could be very useful

Oshane is familiar with the system and it is preseason. Explain how Rudolph is the same? You might as well just putting 10 players on the field if he is not up to speed on JG's system and his role in the blocking scheme. Because that is what they would be doing if he is not up to game speed. Fielding 10 players not 11.
