They are not rookie mistakes they are just mistakes that he is making way too often. Most QBs want to make the big play and force it at times but he makes a habit out of it. Flashes dont make a career. He needs to pull his head out of his butt. Top that off with marginal OL play and there is zero room for error. Thats a big problem. The NYGs have almost no wiggle room. You sound like me when your being “yourself”. I can be very pessimistic. The fan in me keeps hope alive though

This is just some hack sports writer, he obviously doesn’t know what he’s talking about because he’s never been a GM and probably hates the Giants. Plus it’s only pre season, just wait for the new coaching to kick in for week one! P.S Riddick knows nothing.
“The performance of LT Andrew Thomas was really, really alarming. Maybe it’ll be just a blip for him, but he was just manhandled at times by the Patriots’ rush. It’s not like they were doing a lot of stunts or things to confuse him. He was just pushed around and sometimes seemed to step or lean the wrong way.”

Just play the position Andrew!!! Stop thinking and just ****ing play!!!

I was honestly thinking it would get better, how could it not, but this is the dumpster fire of my worst dreams (so far). I don’t see how they will suddenly improve over the next two weeks. People can point to us beating Washington, practices, etc but I’m becoming more and more nauseated thinking about what this Denver D line will do to these f’in scrubs.

Starting to feel that way. Ugh…any small bit of optimism I had (I’m well aware I don’t show it) has quickly faded. Off topic and ranting, I don’t know if it would have made a difference or not (I think it would have) but yesterday’s example was all the more reason why all of the starters should have been playing in every single pre season game.

Thomas had garbage Guards next to him tonight and I felt his struggles tonight were in part related to bad efforts by whoever was lined up next to him. Two nice drives in first half when it mattered slightly. 1 gorgeous TD to Kaden before half. The Jones INT came at the one yard line but the play call was horrid. Designed roll out to his right cutting off half the field. Hate that play. My least favorite of all play calls you can make at the 1 yard line. Seriously? Thomas was taken to the wood shed. Can we please stop making excuses for the 4th OVERALL pick?! Not completely on him imho. He had to cover for the incomprehensible ineptitutde next to him all night. You know what fine I am done trying to be a voice of reason. Forget that it is after one Covid season and it's only been a couple of tough snaps in pre-season thus far with inept guards playing next to him who should not even be in the NFL. I concede this argument to you and everyone who has a similar opinion at this point as I am tired of it. Let's just call him a bust and cut him now and get it over with already. So done with this debate.

The average guess right percentage of any poster here is well below 20%. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Let’s also ignore that every other tackle taken in the same draft year, who have outperformed Thomas, also had to deal with COVID. Glad you’re done making excuses for him though, congrats.

No, we’ll never know if it would have helped but we know it couldn’t have hurt. Of course injuries are always a concern but that’s part of the game. This was the the second to last worst offense last year, an O line that many considered the worst and a QB that is looking more and more like a back up but Judge didn’t feel they needed more work in pre season games. At least I don’t have to hear the excuses that they sucked so bad last year because they didn’t have a “pre season”.

Facts are not excuses. His peers are at a major advantage over him. Other than Becton who seems to be injury prone anyway, they have top notch talent next to them on their respective lines. One guy has the greatest QB of all time taking snaps behind him. I am not going into this any further with you or anyone else who thinks like this. Too many here think he is hot garbage and cannot become anything. I am done trying to explain reasonably why he appears to have struggled at times. If everyone hates him so much and thinks at this point it is time to declare him a bust and perhaps bench him or even cut him then fine so be it. I don't give a crap anymore.

Also too many people like you that make assumptions and accusations against people for things they never said. Where did I say he was a bust or hot garbage? I want to see an actual quote of mine. You can literally make an excuse for every player in the league not having ideal conditions. Thomas got beat on more than one occasion when it was one on one, it had nothing to with the the guy next to him but guys like you will always find an excuse. Thomas may very well work out but all I said, and most realists have said, is that so far he hasn’t performed up to his draft spot or as well as his peers have. Fall on the sword for him though, that’s very noble of you.

I was on Thomas, Jones and the entire inept offense plenty last year when it truly was warranted based on what my eyes saw so don't speak like I am always making excuses for Thomas or anyone else. Note I did not say you specifically called him a bust but plenty are beginning to think like that. It's all good. I will just not debate this topic anymore.

It's not the end of the season, but the way the offense looked was certainly cause for concern, especially with the performance of the OL. I know it wasn't a huge amount of mistakes out there, but most NFL games are decided by 1 score of less. So, it doesn't take a lot of mistakes to sink a season. Thomas looked really bad out there today. Huh? Its only pre season and Thomas improved throughout the season last year. He was the 4th overall pick and DG knows his “hog mollies”. He’ll be fine, just a little hiccup, he needs a little more time time gel. Him improving throughout last season, and by all accounts have had a strong camp this offseason are reasons to hope he'll bounce back.

He looked like feces yesterday, but hopefully you’re right and he will bounce (not sure about the back part).

Oline is fine in this game so far. Nothing overly concerning. Not sure what people are watching but whatever. Thomas gave up about 2 sacks and had a holding call which stopped a drive in less than 1/2 of football. Thought it was a decent performance all in all given all the key starters missing but the line worries me. Nothing overly concerning , only 2 sacks and a penalty .... lol fans like champs must be use to this kind of performance....
