In timing offenses this happens. Bobby Skinner breaks this down perfectly.
I had said in another thread I am pretty sure he is coached to do this.

He also showed that
on plays w 2+ Routes over 15 yards Jones was 12/14 214 1 TD
On plays w 1 or less of these deep routes 10/23 53 yards …
Jones isn’t a west coast quarterback…IMO he would’ve thrived in Gilbrides offense

Safeties playing 20 yards off the LOS on that 2nd play I saw. Seems a bit excessive.

That’s interesting because Jones was staring down receivers in college and with Shurmur. Garrett also allegedly “developed” Dak and Romo yet neither one of them had problems staring down receivers. So all of these coaches, including the “great” Cutliffe, all coached him to stare down receivers. Ooooooookay.

If the the entire defense can play within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage . It is a task to move the ball.

My gosh, he’s one read or has made his mind up pre-snap. Hope tomorrow night is different.

This is so obvious it is mind boggling. They stuff the box, we didn't force them not to. We lost.

You did tell someone they respond like they never played HS football but now I know you're way more than that!! I was mocking Gunnerville since he actually wants our usernames to designate if the fan played football or not but if it also applies to you then I'll take it!! GO GIANTS!!

If you've watched and can accurately analyze film and understand whats happening then it doesn't matter if you played or not. I have played with guys that don't know what to do with a players tendency without a coach to lay it out for them. I also have played with guys that are geniuses in finding the smallest tiniest advantages where they would otherwise not be able to see the field due to physical limitations. When the mind and body both line up.... you become a beast. Part of the reason Deion Sanders was so good... guy was a film junkie when it came to QBs and WR tendencies.

Jones' performance is definitely part of the problem.
However:
-add in shitty play calling
-receivers that hardly ever seem open
-poor pass pro too often
-shitty run game
-poor coaching, game plan and play calling
How is this kid supposed to over come his own issues while he has to battle 5 other issues out of his control

Wasn't exactly much to quote man. He posted some videos about Jones you replied "he is one read". If I replied "he isn't one read" in addition to my comments would that have made a difference? I replied to that part of your post because you seem to have an issue with people discussing things.
I do agree with you, I hope tonight is different.

Well with the one caveat being: It’s welcomed discussion if the message aligns with agendas and the messenger isn’t vilified. It would be cool if people could discuss things without the other side attacking them. Let me know when either side does that lol.

DJ needs to be allowed to throw the ball DOWN FIELD!
He throws a beautiful Deep ball as seen on that Play to Slayton. Let the man Air the damn ball out, if the Line can't give him enough time...the man is a Athlete, Roll Him Out! Plenty of teams around the NFL with Bad Lines too but that doesn't keep them from getting the ball down field.

How much did he do wrong? In game one Jones didn't seem to do a lot wrong (the obvious fumble, staring down WRs on a few plays). Are the things he did wrong correctable with coaching? I think he got his butt chewed and slid from there on out, and his staring down WRs seems better than last year...but still not perfect. So is he improving his flaws? I personally think so. Is he where we want him? No yet.
When I approach it like that I can't see blaming him. Especially when you add in all the things you listed. They were talking today on the radio about how he simply is not the right fit for the system Garrett is trying to run. If this O doesn't straighten out I think Garrett is getting replaced with Kitchens or the LSU kid.
