What’s frustrating is that there were positives from that last game. If it was another Denver-like game, the sting would be less and I could just laugh at the sheer stupidity of our failures/shortcomings.
But, no. There were sparks, potential, a smidge of belief that we might right the ship. WFT’s highly lauded defense looked just as bad (if not arguably worse) as ours. Our defense started slow last season and then came on strong. We are playing the Falcons next. Maybe, just maybe, we are 1-2 and get things right.
But then I look at this:
Saints Cowboys Rams
And then I think 1-5.
Panthers Chiefs Raiders Bucs
Smells like MAYBE 2-9
And that’s it already. Even if we maintain that offense and DJ plays like we should keep him. Even if the defense plays better, 4-7 perhaps? Then we’d have to win out against the Eagles twice, the Cowboys, the Chargers?
Which begs the question - if this season lands us a top 5 pick, but DJ plays like he just did against WFT the rest of the season (which we just showed that we can still lose with his better play) - we totally keep him right?

This was gone over last year at those 5 or 6 winnable games we had. Put it to bed, dude.

I didn't see it before they gave these two games a way.. Teams have definitely started 3-0 and fallen apart (09 team if memory serves) But if we were playing and getting better and 3-0, I could’ve convinced myself it was possible. These losses kneecapped us.

Team is toast. These were winnable games. The only hope is the NFC East is so horrendous again, that 7 wins takes the division

If they go back to losing to the Eagles every game they might set the new lose record!

If he gives them what he did the first 2 weeks 0 picks and only one turnover and is most of the offense he is staying for sure. The question is do they pull the plug on Gettlemen if they win 5 or 6 or 7 games who will be drafting and if they want their own coach how much roster turn over will there be. The Giants needed that WFT game pretty bad and even the Denver game, there biggest strength has been their biggest weakness the defense last year they gave up yards but made people kick FGs now they are allowing teams to get 7 they need to help Williams out he needs another dynamic front 7 guy that can help take the heat off him.

so far those who thought this team would suck have been correct. I disagreed with them but that narrative has been prove to be wrong

These losses kneecapped us. The reason is shocking, the offense looks up to the task the defense that was supposed to be what they hang their hat on is killing them. Even the Denver game the offense moved it when they had it. Logan Ryan said after that game he felt if the D got the ball back to them he thought they could have done some damage, when they did this week the offense did do damage and left double digit points on the field to boot.

if this season goes the way its looking right now it will most likely mean that DG will be asked to retire, if that happens and the team brings in a new GM will the new GM be required to keep Judge as HC, I wonder...

Of course. Because, they will promote within. Kevin Abrams has been working his way up the food chain for the good part of two decades. It’s his job to lose. And don’t take my word for it, check the stats out. Besides, George Young who the league forced on us. Thank you Pete Rozelle. The Giants have always promoted or hired familiar faces. From Ernie Accorsi, to Jerry Reese, and last and most certainly least. Dave Gettleman. The Giants will do their rounds of interviews, and even bring a guy or two for a second interview. You know, to give us false hope. Then, at the 11th hour. We’ll get the breaking news. Kevin Abrams, will be our next general manager of the NY Giants. The Giants motto, rinse and repeat.

I could almost piece together some hope thinking if the defense stepped up to anything like last year, that the oline thurs night was actually decent, and Jones showed maturity and signs that he actually started to look over the whole field.
But then I remember garrett doesnt want to win, and they play to not lose, and they refuse to use toney, and every damn drive, for every decent thing we do, we totally cripple ourselves afterwards.
Dont bother making turnoverse defense, because we re going to go 3 and out afterwards with the most conservative plays in the league, and have judge and garrett defend it 100%
This team doesnt wana win
I thought i was starting to get over thurs but i woke up today disgusted thinking about it. Dont look on general football sites and social media, we are the laughing stock of the league with a reputation for blowing winnable games

And if Judge is fired, Garrett will be the next HC. They can’t fire him just yet. Who’s going to wear all their custom made hoodies? Jason Garrett will be gone soon, they need an scapegoat. And what better person then the man who claps at funerals. That will quiet the mob down for a few days, and the fan base will get a look at Judges best friend Freddie Kitchens. I could see the job interviews right now. Mara: “What is your three year plan on maintaining and rebuilding an NFL roster?” Potential hire: “Whatever you tell me to do, I’ll do it.” Mara: “When can you start?”
