Hey, they were 0-2 once and won the super bowl. just wanted to say it before someone else did, but hell no!With a defense that actually looked worse then this one somehow.. We can only hope, but it is what it is....we'll all watch and bitch.

I think we needed to win both of the first 2 games to reach that number and the elusive playoffs. I'll be like Mora screaming " PLAYOFFS ! PLAYOFFS ! "
At this point 5-6 winnable games to me. When we can win most of these close games like WFT then we'll have a shot. How many of these type games did we win and lose last year ? I fear the same.

Yeah it's unlikely. We sneak in if the division winner can be around .500 again. I'm not a Dallas believer like everyone else seems to be. If theres a team that can break from the pack and finish well above .500 it's eagles. That's the team to watch.

Absolutely, so long as we have three seasons to do it.

I see a path to 11 wins at best. Do I think that will happen? No. However, if the defense can get back to playing like they did last season, and Jones can consistently play like he did Thursday night, there are enough winnable games left to do it. They really dug themselves into a hole losing two winnable games out the gate though.
As for your question about Jones. If we end up having another disappointing losing season, but lose in spite of him, I think its a toss up whether he stays or goes.
Personally, I think it'd be enough for me to want to see him stick around if he finishes the season playing like he did Thursday on a consistent basis. However, if the team sucks, that will likely mean the end for Gettleman, and rightfully so. Bringing in a new GM would completely change things, as it's pretty typical that the new guy will want to pick his own qb.
So unless Daniel Jones finishes the season as an undeniable elite franchise qb, his fate will be very much aligned with the success or failure of the team as a whole.

Did they fire Patrick Graham? Did you have the same narrative with Spags in 04 after game 2?

Sell some optimism. Aside from “any given Sunday” - it’s hard to see that many winnable games. If a corner gets turned, we likely can go 3-3 in the division. Can beat the Raiders maybe, maybe Chargers, maybe Bears - panthers and dolphins are possible. It has to all start with the Falcons. That’s at best 9 - and not leaving room for any slips.

Did they fire Patrick Graham? Did you have the same narrative with Spags in 04 after game 2? Tim Lewis was the DC in 04 but I will cut you slack. I understand your thought but after practically a decade of losing my patience is thin. I see safety's defending the goal post and the middle of the field is left wide open 2 games in a row. Can it change? I honestly don't know.

I was pleased in what I saw from the QB and and O-line . That is a foundation that was missing. The D is too talented not to get it together.

Of course. Because, they will promote within. Kevin Abrams has been working his way up the food again for the good part of two decades. It’s his job to lose. And don’t take my word for it, check the stats out. Besides, George Young who the league forced on us. Thank you Pete Rozelle. The Giants have always promoted or hired familiar faces. From Ernie Accorsi, to Jerry Reese, and last and most certainly least. Dave Gettleman. The Giants will do their rounds of interviews, and even bring a guy or two for a second interview. You know, to give us false hope. Then, at the 11th hour. We’ll get the breaking news. Kevin Abrams, will be our next general manager of the NY Giants. The Giants motto, rinse and repeat. wouldn't you think that by now they would see this method sucks.. No, no I don’t and a small portion of this fan base still support this method.

What’s frustrating is that there were positives from that last game. If it was another Denver-like game, the sting would be less and I could just laugh at the sheer stupidity of our failures/shortcomings. But, no. There were sparks, potential, a smidge of belief that we might right the ship. WFT’s highly lauded defense looked just as bad (if not arguably worse) as ours. Our defense started slow last season and then came on strong. We are playing the Falcons next. Maybe, just maybe, we are 1-2 and get things right. But then I look at this: Saints Cowboys Rams And then I think 1-5. Panthers Chiefs Raiders Bucs Smells like MAYBE 2-9 And that’s it already. Even if we maintain that offense and DJ plays like we should keep him. Even if the defense plays better, 4-7 perhaps? Then we’d have to win out against the Eagles twice, the Cowboys, the Chargers? Which begs the question - if this season lands us a top 5 pick, but DJ plays like he just did against WFT the rest of the season (which we just showed that we can still lose with his better play) - we totally keep him right? if this scenario happens and we're picking top 5 , you can bet on Gettleman being gone. At that point all bets r off and there is no guarantee the new gm will want DJ as his rebuild QB , in fact I think it's more likely a gm would look to get there own guy because that's what new GMs generally do. We have to be honest that most of the league does not value DJ like Gettleman and Giants brass do. If we hire an outsider for GM , it's likely they'll go in a direction at QB unless DJ lights it up the rest of the way

I was a Dallas believer only because of their offense, slightly improved defense, and being in this horrendous division but they’re really banged up right now. I could see them losing to the Chargers and maybe the Eagles, making them 0-3. With my luck though, they’ll win and keep me in a constant state of rage. Even their loss to TB was considered a positive to their fans as I knew it would be.

If the D comes together I hope for some wins.
