I wonder if he ever practiced at Florida Maybe not but in college, it ain't that hard to be better than a bunch of future accountants, insurance salesmen and financial advisors. It's a lot harder in the pros. He ain't gonna play if he doesn't practice. That seems to be the message, I'm not sure why he doesn't seem to be getting it. I don't think this is his call.

He seems to think he can still not practice and them play meaningful snaps on Sunday. The coaches seem to feel differently.

I think he WANTS to play, which IMO is a good sign. My point is though that I don't think not practicing is his call to make, that too is the coaches call. This to me is a big nothing burger. It's like Engram being out. If he comes back and adds something great, if not then that's fine too and lets keep going.

They are easing Toney into a role the way you would introduce a rookie into a room full of established veterans, who until that point, had done nothing to lose their job.

Yeah I have zero issue with anything concerning Toney. It would be completely different if we didn't have the team we have and needed this kid to produce right away. We simply are not in that position. So I got no issue with them taking their time and easy him in. Of course I want to see him light it up, but no rush IMO. His performance won't make or break our season.

But, but... No, he wasn't. That’s odd. I recall the Giants having the 11th overall pick, and Slater was drafted 13th. Unless the numerical system has changed since the draft, we had the opportunity to draft him. But, we took the magic beans and drafted a piss poor version of Percy Harvin. There are plenty of things to criticize Getty about, but you'd have to look pretty hard to find anyone that thought it was a bad move to make that trade. So, he didn't just pass on Slater for Toney, he passed on Slater for Toney and what will likely be a top 15 (possibly top 10) draft pick. I'm concerned with how little they are using Toney. Can't fathom why they aren't at least using him in the return game.

This is getting comical. Hamstring, ankle, COVID, stupidity. I know its way early but I can't remember a rookie have this rough of a start in all my years. Toney's face should be in the dictionary next to the definition of Murphy's law.... His face should be the one in your avatar. I need an upgrade and you are 100 percent correct.

He's one of our leaders and most important players on D. Maybe if he wasn't also returning punts he could focus on more making plays on D.

The only guy really making impact is Shepard. Kaden Smith gets a couple or plays Rudolph is very new to this offense but shows some signs. Barkley seem to not follow his blocking very well. Or he is rusty so yes Toney could help this team tremendously IMHO and could be a huge help.

Toney hasn't made a significant play in 2 games nor pre season. The only reason I mention pre season is it would have shown me some type of potential. And now in week 3 he is hurt again ? Is he playing ?
But not only Toney it seems 75% to 90% of our playmakers are always hurt. Saquon and Rudolph coming off injurys. Goladay coming off injuries and now hurting himself again in practice and is a game time decision to play. Engram hasn't played a down and another game day decision. Ross still out and hasn't played a down. Slayton was hurt but seems ok now. Plus 2 starting OL starters done for the season.
Who knows what we got ? Getting very old in a hurry.

We put up 29 last week, left 8 on the board and he didn't catch a single ball or have a target. If our season hinges on the performance of a rookie that's #4 on the depth chart we have major problems. Not saying he can't help us out, of course he can; just saying him being slow to come along isn't what will sink this season if we fail.

Who cares about next years compensation of this pick doesn't pan it, its just trading one for the other. Still early, but holyshit red flags are popping up all over with this guy. You know what changes that fast? Scoring some TDs.
