The Giants need a complete change to their Football operations and philosophy. The head football coach must be the final football authority. He must have complete authority and control over all Football Operations without interference from ownership. He must be the ultimate authority to hire, fire all football related staff, control the roster, draft players, make trades and obtain free agents. He must be responsible for all football related decisions.
His staff would include the General Manager, the entire front office, medical, and scouting departments. In order to not create chaos, he should be officially hired after the final game of this season.
It will be expensive since contracts will have to bought out, and salaries will be super competitive. It's a big job and will require the right person for it.
My candidates are Dabo Swinney, Kirby Smart and Nick Saban - in that order.
If Mara really wants to win at all costs, this is a way for him to do it.

Didn’t we do this already? As long as there is a John Mara, and his goofy brother Chris Mara. Swear, he’s Clint Howard to John being Ron. The way they construct business will always be the same.. Lousy..
If we’re lucky.. John will fall on his head and have a dream of creating the flux capacitor. And not have the time to meddle with the day to day business. Otherwise, expect the same shit, different day.

Until the Maras are fully removed from making any decisions about this team, expect the same old shit. They are stuck in the past and it really doesn't matter who the GM or the HC are.
