In only 7 Games he already has more Sacks than Oshane Ximines has in his entire career so far and is only 4 Sacks away from Lorenzo Carter Career Sack Total He probably has twice as many snaps as Ximines too. That says more about what a bust Xman was than anything, I forgot the guy is even on the roster. Roche will be replacing him this week since he's already out for twice as many plays and is making his presence known... Will be nice once Carter is off the field also..

Never expected him to be All-Pro but I did of course expect way more. Seems to have the skill set not sure why he isnt more effective. Low drive to succeed maybe?

I thought he was soft and couldn't tackle early in his career so I saw him the opposite of you. forget it as a pass rusher! Getty should've been drafting olineman with those two picks in the 3rd that year!

That LT sucked, but good on Azeez for taking advantage. If you watched it was pure speed rushes and he ran right around him. It was like watching Solder play for both teams. and like watching Flowers get ran around while playing tackle lmfao and smh

The exact play I was referring to (the Roche stuff) He is fundamentally sound in the running game, watched him a lot last year as the U is my team His upside is Olivier Vernon overall,a very good overall player that is really good at the dirty work but probably not going to put up pass rush numbers Which is fine for us on early downs so that we aren't always in a 2nd and 5 or less like it always seems,or on short yardage plays where we get gashed regularly it seems Me and you were Def on the Roache train in the 2021 mock draft thread. I like your OV comparison, he isn't really 'bendy' enough to be an ideal pass rushing 3-4 OLB, but if he can develop into a run stopping, edge setter, who can occasionally rush the passer, then I will be THRILLED. He is going to be forced to overcome his physical short comings with his motor, and technical prowess. That's what we have been trying to do with Zo Carter and Ximines, but with no luck. exactly. Put the best man on the field!! That seemed to be what Judge preached when he got here so let's do it. Whatever works and makes the most sense

If Roche develops he will be that annoying guy to opposing offenses that get close enough to a passer to effect a play positively for the defense Whether making the qb move into a bad situation, hurried pass,ect.. Just like Vernon Pressures can lead to someone else cleaning up,or bad passes exactly and that's what we need, at least that. Getting more of that coupled with Ojulari and LW, Dex, we should be decent the rest of the year at least.

Also Seems Quincy Roche was making some plays as well Many of us thought he was a bit of a steal as a waiver wire pick up Much better setting the edge against the run... I was thinking about this the other day in a conversation with my son about Carl Banks. Setting the edge seems pretty elementary yet this team has struggled to find anyone who can execute. With Banks it looked so easy and natural for him. He basically told teams, "don't run my way because you're not getting outside and #56 is in hot pursuit." Any one here play DE? Is it that complicated to shirk inside responsibility and just close off the outside? i wonder if there are any vids of Carl Banks setting the edge? Or I might just youtube some and see some examples of guys purposely setting the edge. Would love to see that magic work for the D and if we can get back to that man we might just be on to something overall for the D.

Banks was so good at splitting two defenders and making the play is was glorious to watch!!

That playoff run? Call me spoiled since I have box set DVDs of all the playoff runs so I've never needed to search for them on YT.. If you're in north west Jersey I'll meet you and lone them if that helps. They are fun to watch at times during this bad decade of this team..

Doesn't mean anything comparing 2nd player, who draws alot of attention, to a rookie. Just fun stat.

A complete swarm. yeah man I actually just got around to watching it yesterday. Man I remember those days for sure. I made a reply to a thread sunday or made a post as to McKinney and Ryan collision and to me I haven't seen that in awhile from our D as in swarming to the ball and gang tackling and such; not even sure they did much of that last year. Maybe they did but I can't really remember much outside of LW and Bradberry and a few others lol. I mean for our D to be as good as they were last year I'm sure there were more good things. Maybe I'm just gettin older heheheee

Yessir man I hope so as well, hope he stays consistent and keeps getting better. It's been a long time coming because we've always usually had at least one. If he is that guy then maybe we don't need 2 of them in the draft........
