If things shook differently 2 more wins we would be 4-3 things would be different the Giants aren't as bad as they look it's bad luck and injury but besides the Cowboys we are the same record as the Skins and Eagles...

Who wouldn’t love a better record?
But a better record wouldn’t change the fact that this team hasn’t demonstrated the ability to beat good football teams.
Beating bad teams is a start, but not enough to get me excited.

Who wouldn’t love a better record? But a better record wouldn’t change the fact that this team hasn’t demonstrated the ability to beat good football teams. Beating bad teams is a start, but not enough to get me excited. The Saints are not a bad football team. |

We screwed the pooch early not being able to finish games we should have won. Even that Denver game were self inflicted wounds. We took our lumps and here we are. If we are good enough to make the playoffs then we will beat some of these tough teams ahead of us. If not then we will not come close to the playoffs. We have 10 more games to prove how good or bad we are.
I think we are better than 2-5 personally, but the health of this offense is a disaster right now. We need to find a way to win cause we can't afford to wait for them all to be back.

My dad used to have a saying when i said the giants would of beat this team or that if they could of made 1 more play or giants should of beat xzy teams which would mean theyd have 2 more wins
He'd say thats why i call them the: "WOULDA,COULDA,SHOULDA GIANTS"
That still holds true today

Theres always some excuseas too why they didnt win more games. Why they are not good . Injuries, young HC, sign wrong FAs, draft, GM, Maras etc. Every year, year in and year out its always something as to why we stink.
Every off season they sell us a bill of goods as to why they will be so much improved this time around. We all buy into it only to be let down once again.

To me that's the difference between being a good team or not. Good teams, winning teams, make those 1 or 2 plays to win a game. In the NFL we all know that's often what it comes down to..1 or 2 plays a game.
A dropped pass (Engram, Slayton), a bad penalty at the worst time (Lawrence), we've seen it many times.
Winning teams make winning plays, losing teams make losing plays.

honestly, we deserve our record.
in typical giants fashion of the last few years, weve played far too conservatively, dropped too many passes/interceptions, blown too many tackles, had badly timed penalties and just havent taken advantage when an opportunity comes our way. weve been blownout by a couple good teams out of our weight class.
we are 2-5 and thats about right.

Nice work DonnieYen Yea but you can go back 4, 5, 6 or more seasons and see games like that when they were so close and 1 play, 1 penalty, 1 defensive lapse, coaching mistake, fundamental lapse or injury caused them to lose tons of 1 score games. A few seasons they had 6+ of those type losses But you see its a pattern. Its always something. We always will have threads titled "What if......?" Its losing culture and as said winning teams find a way to make that extra play, get that big stop or not commit that costly penalty. Also the majority of the winning teams over past seasons also found a way to keep their key players healthly Ours are never all on the Field at the same time for multiple games to get some confidence and experience together. Never. 1 or 2 come back and almost immediately 1 or 2 go back out |

Yeah, probably should have had the skins game and falcons game. But we all point to one or two missed plays, but in reality, and most likely still now, we are a bad team. If we start beating good teams, I'll start loathing our tough losses. Until then, we are in every way our record. |

I think there’s a lot of name association that makes people think they’re better then they are. Not much different from saying Washington doesn’t have a bad defense because of who’s on paper and who their coach is…their defense is one of the worst in the league. Nothing against DJ or our offense but all that hype after we almost beat a great defense, was just that, hype. Turns out they suck hind teet. |

I said that week we didn't look like a bad team we looked like a rusty team. Tons of injuries in the preseason limiting reps will do that. I also think Judge needs to figure out a bit more on how exactly to get his team ready to go for September. |

Maybe someone is, I don't read every post, but for the most part people just talk about why we lost. That's a reason, not an excuse. There is a reason every team has lost. |

But the Giants followed up that win by being embarrassed against a couple of pretty good teams. They are what their record says they are. Beating KC on MNF would help a lot. |

We could just as easily be 1-6 too. If Peppers didn't make the highlight of the year by calling heads in overtime we might have lost that game.
My point is that you're right, we could argue that we should be better, but we could also argue that our record should be worse. At the end of the day, good teams don't jump offsides on game winning FG attempts and they don't drop easy interceptions in the opponent's end zone. Our record perfectly reflects the quality of our team.

It seems like every yr, this team loses 2-3-4 games it had no business losing & then come Dec, we have to rely on a crap load of teams to win or lose so we can sneak in the playoffs via the damn WC. So far this yr we've blown the Skins & Atl games. Instead of being 4-3 & right up Dallas behind, we're stuggling to stay ahead of the Skins & Eagles for last place. KC is very vulnerable & is no longer an instant loss like it was a month ago. If Judge hasn't hammered it home to this team that every remaining game on the schedule is a must win game, then I don't want this guy as our HC come season's end.

I do think Judge has some work to do (he's not the only one btw, first time ever 3 preseason games after his first year having zero) but I also think it had a lot to do with the number of injuries. Hell Kenny Golladay literally told us to expect that. The rust did not shock me at all, the play of the D did though. They should have been balling out after a healthy summer, that I put on Judge and Graham. |

Now the narrative has been " the giants beat a bad team" 🙄2 weeks ago they weren't a "bad team". 2 Weeks ago Sam Darnold was a god damn phoenix that rose from the ashes to lay waste to his enemies....now the Panthers are looking into trading for Watson and are almost certainly going to move on from Darnold first chance they get. The NFL is a fickle world. We were kings for beating the Saints then we lost to two of the best teams in the NFL and we are viewed as horrible lol. The only team to beat the Rams are the undefeated Cardinals, the only team to beat the Boys are the 6-1 defending SB Champs. |

It's so true. And, stating the obvious, the QB position is under the most intense microscope too. 100%
We rattle off a few wins here and the talking heads will praise us once again. It really stinks we screwed ourselves early in the season. Would we actually be a different team if we won those games though? If we played Dallas and we were 4-0 would we have suddenly won? I doubt it considering the injuries. Judge talked about this last year after missing the playoffs, we have to take care of the team in front of us. Nothing else matters. 1-0 each week.
