That kinda sucks for him, but if I'm not mistaken, his highest PFF grades have been on the left side. Last season when he filled in on the left side he did a good job and people wanted him to take Solders spot.
Then he gets moved to RT and looks like a bust. Some guys can't adjust and play both sides and that is a reality. Peart is obviously better on the left but not as good as Andrew Thomas. So what do you do with him? keep him as a swing a develop a new RT or maybe trade him for a RT while his stock is high as a LT.
He is night and day on the right and left side based on my eye test.

It does seem like he's a better player on the left but to be honest before this game he's been pretty bad. Not expecting the Giants to move Thomas or move on from Peart.

He was actually really good at RT against Dallas.. Other than a botched screen and that inelligbe player downfield he seemed to have a good game ...
What's its proving (other than the Rams game where he was thrust in cold there )is if this trend continues that we have a guy that can play good at both OT spots ,not a bad thing
Honestly if possible I'd like to see Cunningham at RT over Solder.....get him some reps... If somehow we get out of this season on offense with Both our OT positions filled and a functional backup A franchise QB An elite dynamic playmaker that forces teams to have to defend the entire field An O line coach that can make anything off the street look like a functional O lineman if needed
We are set for a long time on that side of the ball, just some reinforcements in the draft day 2 inside on the line is all we would need

This oline shit needs to end after this year even if it's over drafting for a day one starter..

Very deep though on the interior (the C from Iowa could be a borderline top 15 guy possibly, even if he moves inside)

Who knows what the future will be likw with him. Gates....cant count on him. They need it all on the OL......

Peart is a big strong guy .
Not sure why his game is still so poor.
Guess his technique is not good either

To my eyes, he was a better player last year. Which is weird.

Peart was really good at RT last year...then he got dinged up late and didn't perform well. They really need him to be decent.

Peart best game was in Dallas on the right IMHO he was still off balance but he gove up 2 pressures and 0 sacks on the left he has had some issues to me anyway. Hopefully they draft over him may the best man win and the other is depth.

Who he faces has a bigger impact than which side he is on.

Peart seems to be an inigma, 1 game he looks like he could POSSIBLY be a future starter, the next it looks like his 1st organized football game.
It's way too early to give up on him, but I'm not sure he is the answer. This is a good year where he can test himself on the proving grounds. With Thomas out for the season, this is time for him to shine or fold, by the end of 2021 we will know what we have in Matt Peart

Who he faces has a bigger impact than which side he is on. I think coming in he was a college Right tackle most of his career that is why he is better there to me he is comfortable in that spot, he has played left but mostly right, I think he has a pretty good shot to develop then again if I am who ever is calling the shots 1 of those 1st round picks is gonna be a stud Right tackle like Wirfs who's home has been on the right.

Thomas isn't out for the season It's the 3 week IR OK, so the season isn't a TOTAL loss He can still prove himself on the right side when Thomas returns that is where he will be if he starts getting it and he is not as bad as Solder.

At this point I'd take an out of shape Isiah Wilson over Solder. At least Peart has some sort of a chance to be a better player. Solder is on the back 9 of his career and already showed who he is and what he can do

Yeah I agree. It depends how the draft board rolls out but Pass rusher and OL are the top two moves if I have a choice.

Yes, but he was doing the same move multiple times (schemed?) in a short sequence. They didn't get to him though, not sure this in particular is on the linemen - was there a TE involved?

I'm not sure which is the deeper position that one would be second 1st round pick and the one with less would go first.

I think you need to grade the players and take the better player if he is there no matter if he is OL or edge rusher. The scary thing is that Bears pick is not even that good right now. They have 3 wins. 10 teams have less than 3 wins and another 10 teams have exactly 3 wins. The Bears pick could be 20th if the season ended today lol.

That is like she luck Bears might mail it in as a team the way things are going for them couple more bad losses.
