I’m hoping if I get my Indeed profile updated maybe the Mets will give me an interview. Can’t be a good sign we have been rejected by everyone.

Raquel Ferreira, Red Sox VP, a candidate for Mets’ general manager opening, could become MLB’s second woman GM (report) The New York Mets have asked the Red Sox for permission to speak to Raquel Ferreira, starting a process that could lead Boston’s executive vice president and assistant general manager to become Major League Baseball’s second female general manager. According to Andy Martino of SNY, Ferreira is now on the Mets’ radar as a candidate to be the team’s general manager as the Mets try to stabilize that position after a year of upheaval. Twins assistant general manager Daniel Adler is also expected to interview. According to Martino, there are also internal candidates. www.masslive.com/redsox/2021/10/raquel-ferreira-red-sox-vp-a-candidate-for-mets-general-manager-opening-could-become-mlbs-second-woman-gm-report.html

Chili Davis goes scorched earth: Mets are broken after ‘dismal’ stretch Chili Davis was fired as Mets hitting coach in May, but his contract with the club didn’t officially expire until Oct. 31. Now free of that contract, the 61-year-old Davis, during a 45-minute interview with The Post this week, offered a candid assessment of his firing, the organization and what he views as a misguided application of analytics. Davis’ strongest words were reserved for former acting general manager Zack Scott, who was recently fired from the job following his Aug. 31 arrest for DWI (Scott has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting a Dec. 8 trial). It was Scott who fired Davis and assistant hitting coach Tom Slater on May 3, replacing them with Hugh Quattlebaum and Kevin Howard, both of whom were working in player-development roles. nypost.com/2021/11/05/chili-davis-goes-scorched-earth-on-broken-mets/

Here’s the thing. Cohen needs to thank Sandy for his contributions to the organization and send him packing. I’m fairly certain nobody wants this role with Alderson looking over their shoulder in Cohens ear the whole time. I refuse to believe it’s not part of the problem.

I’m fairly certain nobody wants this role with Alderson looking over their shoulder in Cohens ear the whole time. I refuse to believe it’s not part of the problem. It is pretty weird how many people have not even wanted to interview. You would think with a new owner ready to spend it would be a great gig for any GM. There's got to be a reason, maybe you are right. But I thought alderson was pretty well liked and respected in the league. Strange...

So Mets gonna hire a woman GM cuz I'm sure she is way more qualified than her male counterparts who have way more experience that her. Yay for diversity hires! Well, when no one wants the job in this cursed organization, beggers can't be choosy. Desperate times leads to desperate measures.

Eppler was a possible choice to replace Brian Cashman a while back.
Thor to the Angels? Where did that come from?

The whole Noah thing pisses me off after he said on record that he would take the QO if the Mets offered it to him. " it would be a tough pill to swallow not wearing a Mets jersey next year " ........ bullshit

And you never know with his arm. Could be a blessing in disguise.

The Mets also don't even have their front office situation squared away yet. Do they even have a GM right now?

He wanted to be in Cali and not NY. To me it’s that simple. With Cali taxes the money for 1 year is negligible. Plus he still has to pass the physical. Whatevs, dude hadn’t pitched in 2 years. More importantly try to keep Stro who will actually take the pill as needed.

In any case, we won't know if it was good or bad for the Mets for awhile. Frankly, I had concerns about his arm with the setbacks all year. Time will tell who wins this decision.

Because he used the offer as leverage after pining for it. If you really wanted to be here the Mets would have matched it in a second. Clearly they didn’t get the chance. Again, didn’t actually want to be here. Well played by him.

You sound like a Monty Python schech. Of course his agent influenced him, just trying to understand how you claim to know what he wanted and why. Do you have any real understanding about why he left?

If he wanted to be with the Mets with 18.5 mil on the table would he leave for LA for 21m without so much as allowing a chance to match? You don’t need to be madame ruby to figure that one out.

You don’t need to be madame ruby to figure that one out. He and/or his agent wanted either out of NY or more money. I'm not claiming to know why. You seem to think you know. We'll see how it works out. My bet is the Mets will be the smarter organization here.
