Maybe they plan to allow the manager to run the team? I realize that's not the norm with most sabermetric apostles but if you're a slave to sabermetrics you don't win championships.

Stats work on some cases and (his batting average drops against lefties.) Fails against others (He has a no hitter going into the 8th, but his pitch count has hit its celling. Bring in the setup man)

Shame on Terry Collins, generally a respectable guy, for airing every ounce of Matt Harvey’s personal struggles. Damn, that was shitty of him.

Cohen gives 2 middle fingers to the Cohen tax. Won’t be deterred. Sweet! May have something to do with the fact that the guy valued at 13 billion at time of purchase is now valued at 16 billion. Wonder if Freddie wants to play first for us and Pete can DH. 😂

I’m not even certain that’s true with the players added Pre lockout. They could also put Dom at First and let Pete DH. Love Pete, but DH is where he is best suited. He has made great strides in the field to become mediocre.

He has made great strides in the field to become mediocre. I think he's a solid defensive first baseman at this point. And making him the dh would not be a good move. IMO, Dom will be traded.

good that we picked up Bassitt , we desperately needed some more pitching depth

Soto will be on the Mets radar years from now.
In the meantime, i can see the Mets trying to pry Ramirez away from Cleveland. Now that would be exciting imo.

I literally saw pitchers being told not to swing to prevent injury. And most AL pitchers are basically automatic outs. It time, IMO.

Not sure if it happened but the shift has to go away too. It's ridiculous a hitter cannot figure out how to push the ball to the opposite field.

With his wife and their dogs driving in a different vehicle, right behind him. Imagine seeing that happen to your spouse, but they're all very lucky it turns out.

Not sure the Dodgers are beatable. Lineup is essentially an all star team.

Not sure the Dodgers are beatable. Lineup is essentially an all star team. The good news is the Mets have the right owner now. So long as something insane doesn’t happen in the market. The Dodgers, yeah but they are out West so Padres have to worry about them along with the Giants, etc more than the Mets. Lot can change come October.

Hopefully this is a sign of the Lindor we are getting for 2022. Also MLB.com ranks us with the best starting rotation in baseball. LGM!

My way to early observations on spring training:
Nido can hit and for power?
Our 1 and 2 starters are going to be filthy if they can stay healthy.
Diaz continues to give up homers and leads late in games. I honestly think he can't handle the mental pressure of playing in NY. Certainly not as a closer.
Overall, I like the addition of solid veterans on the roster. We should be able to compete in the NL East.

This is why the Mets haven’t paid him and aren’t discussing it. The last 2 years it’s shutdown after shutdown. I no longer worry, if it’s not Jake we will get the right arm in here.
Personally I believe this will be another negative test. It’s as much mental as it is anything because he’s more worried about protecting his huge payday than anything. Meanwhile Max was out there throwing 6 innings in his 2nd spring outing. This team will be a competitor with or without Jake.
