Honestly, I think its probably for the best that he is gone. It didn't make sense to me to keep him after starting over with a new GM, HC and OC.
It felt like something Mara was trying to influence by keeping him. I don't want a retread either like Wink or Fangio. Keep trending to younger, modern thinking coaches, with upside. Find another Demeco.

I think he was probably pretty comfortable with Josh McDaniels. I don't envision being assistant in Miami under flores who was firing coaches like shit through a goose was very comfortable. His base was gone here his best friend out and he didn't get the head coaching job, last I'm sure Josh got Marc Davis to throw the bag at him. Wait wait here. The HC said our DC job was his if he didn't get a HC job. What the heck happened? It's a lateral move. What happened is if they let him go before the HC positions he was up for were settled they wouldn't get the 2 thirds. Now that those are not happening, they let him walk to a new DC position instead of terminating him to hire the guy they actually wanted.

Who are some of the young DC talent out there besides any BB guys. They all seem to play to many games just like he did when he was Bill Parcells right hand guy with the Jets left them hanging when it was his time to take over for BP. And headed for New England. John Butler secondary coach Buffalo Bills he's done a great job with the DB's there and he's highly regarded around the league.

Wait wait here. The HC said our DC job was his if he didn't get a HC job. What the heck happened? It's a lateral move. What happened is most likely just like with Judge he had a good working relationship with McDaniels and being an ivy league guy when Davis probably gave him more $$$ with lower taxes graham more then likely said my best friend is gone and I'm getting more with another buddy of mine with less taxes they count for these rich folks you know. I'm out of here to Las Vegas. Do you think as he weighed his options the song Viva Las Vegas started playing in his head? ....lol

Wait wait here. The HC said our DC job was his if he didn't get a HC job. What the heck happened? It's a lateral move. position wise its a lateral move. Team wise its not lateral at all. The Raiders are in better shape than the NYGs. Its a better job I would think. Don't blame him at all for wanting to go. Daboll and Schoen said the job is his if he didnt get the HC job in Minn. Doesn't mean Graham wanted the NYG DC job. Also Graham was interviewed for the NYG HC job. Maybe that sets up a weird atmosphere. Plus he has a longer leash in LV starting fresh. Plus he has young pass rushers.

Wink Martindale or Vic Fangio come on down! I would also add Mike Zimmer to the short list, he's run some very good defenses

Sounds strange to me. Especially after the Giants made it clear they wanted him to stay if he didn't get a HC gig.
But hell, it's the Giants. Like a soap opera in the meadowlands these days. 🙄

Good riddance to this guy and his "bend and break & give up points" defense that gave up tons of points in the last few minutes of halves. Now let's get a real defensive coordinator that wants to be here. Exactly

Strange because the Raiders run a strict 4/3 and really don't have the personal to make a quick adjustment.. Crosby is a bad fit.. HC addressed that they are subs 85% of the time anyway. 3-4 and 4-3 base is not what it used to be. Crosby is a 4 down starter DE that can't play standing up Ngokue is best as a 4 down hand in the Dirt DE... That's 2 squares in a round hole right there

This is a lateral move, which means the Giants could have blocked his interview. My guess is that he feels an allegiance with Brian Flores and asked to be allowed to move on. This is pretty hard pill if that's true. I don't think it had anything to do with Flores' situation. IMO, it had to do with: 1) Having to come back and be under the guy that beat him out for the HC job. It would have been awkward for him to come back. If it wasn't, he would not have interviewed for those other jobs. 2) Going to a better team and getting a faster track and better chance at becoming a HC. Being a coordinator for a playoff team is better on the resume than being a coordinator for a bottom feeder that is at least 2 years away. 3) More money 4) No state income tax Graham is good and smart guy from what I've been hearing. He will be a HC in the near future. I was hoping that he would have gotten the Vikings job. I wish him the best going forward.

When asked about Graham, if he hadn't decided to keep him, he would have simply said that they haven't made any decisions about the DC job. The only way he would have said they were going to keep him, is if that was their plan. No other explanation makes any sense at all. Let's keep it real here.

He took a step down from asst, HC/DC to DC. The Giants would have had to approve the move. Their had to be another reason than those you mentioned.

I wish him luck. I liked him but I’m the camp of if there a change of GM and HC you clean house across the board. I wonder who the dc will be I wish him luck too. But when it was 3rd and 3..... 5 and had the Defense lined up in a 2-4. I would want to pull my hair out.

It'll be interesting to see what Graham does with them being that they run a 4-3. I wonder if he'll keep those fronts in the playbook or scrap them entirely. He certainly didn't shy away from multiple alignments when with the Giants and dolphins, I'd like to see what he does with 4-3 fronts

Agreed. Having him on staff would not only help our defense, but it will give a rookie head coach an experienced voice to listen too. As Joe Judge and Jason Garrett prepare to file for unemployment.... Which means absolutely nothing. Judge was a putz, and Garrett offenses never fit to the modern day NFL. Daboll would be doing himself a disservice with inexperience at two of the most important assistant positions on the team. Again, the point was Zimmer is a good defensive coordinator. And his experience as an NFL head coach could help a young head coach.
