When the New York Giants take on the Tennessee Titans this weekend, the defense is going to have to step its game up to try and slow down both Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill. Well, the uphill climb in getting that job done just got 1,000,000 times more difficult thanks to the latest news on pass-rushers Kayvon Thibodeaux and Azeez Ojulari. Don’t expect these two to take the field on Sunday, folks. The Giants just released their latest injury report for Sunday’s matchup in Nashville and unfortunately both Thibodeaux and Ojulari are listed as doubtful to suit up. Right now, it feels like only some sort of a miracle is going to help these two suit up. There was hope that at least one of the two playmakers would be able to play in this one, but the fact that both are not likely to play stings. New defensive coordinator Wink Martindale is now going to have to get extra creative to try and have things run smoothly for the defense. Plus, others will need to play better too. Up front, Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams are going to have to play lights out for the G-Men. That was needed in the first place, but now there’s going to be extra pressure on them with Thibodeaux and Ojulari going to be missing in action. We don’t have to tell you that the secondary needs to wake up as well. Tennessee has a ton of talent on offense, with Henry of course being No. 1 in terms of guys who can really do damage. Not only that, but the aerial attack for the Titans is always going to be dangerous with Tannehill throwing the ball. gmenhq.com/2022/09/09/kayvon-thibodeaux-azeez-ojulari-ny-giants-doubtful-week-1-vs-titans/

No surprise here as Thibodeaux is hurt……..another first round porcelain doll……the full set includes DJ, ODB, Saquon, Thibodeaux & Kadaverous…..the Giants only seem qualified to pick offensive linemen that don’t crack when touched in the first round.

Not trying to be funny but the team has to step up, play smart. Drafting smart would be good, and instead of choosing injury prone people like Thibodeaux would help……the Giants could have taken another offensive lineman……but of course they mistakenly chose a “pass rusher” from the low rated PAC 12……they should have known better and figured if he was really good he would have played in the REAL college football conference.

Good point. It wasn't as if that shot at his knee was anything serious.

Time will tell! No, no it wasn’t a tough block and something most LBs see in High School. It wasn’t a bad or sneaky block, but something Thibodeaux could not handle. Carl Banks made it clear it was a very basic block…..but then again “playing defense” doesn’t seem to exist in the PAC 12.

Kayvon's injury is more serious then thought to keep him out of this game! He wasnt expected to be playing until week 3-4 from initial diagnosis. They are just glad (and shocked) it wasnt the ACL. And so am I.

Our pass rush will be none existent without those 2. Well, maybe I shouldnt say that YET since I havent seen Wink and this roster yet, butit doesnt seem promising. Roche and Smith and Ward are going to have to step up week 1.

Roche and Smith and Ward are going to have to step up week 1. And considering the low quality of the Defensive backfield coupled with no pass rush will leave the Giant D more than weakened. The Titans live and die by rushing the ball, but they will not pass up the opening in the pass game that will be available against the Giants.

Vrabal knows football. He will see the weakness in out unit on defense and attack. Then when they have it, they will start pounding with Henry. Losing Tomlinson last year and Blake this year really will hurt our run D IMO. Someone needs to step up in the middle. Crowder is ok but not Martinez. McFadden? Calitro? Someone needs to.

Kayvon's injury is more serious then thought to keep him out of this game! Yes, it appears so as it was suggested he could be ready for week 1, UNLESS the injury didn’t heal as quickly as expected…..this is looking more and more like 2021. New coaches and GM, yet things strangely the same.

This was excepted and its no surprise. It would have been more of surprise if he was ready to play this Sunday.

The Giants will have to blitz….it is their only option to try and survive, but will leave them open to some 80 yard TDS. The Titans will play action and do well passing, and if the King breaks the first line of the blitz on one of his many rushes, it will be off to the races for the Titans.

Even Thibs said he has to see that and play it better....of course.
