"According to Jon Heyman, The Yankees were one of the few teams that made a serious offer for Ohtani at the trade deadline."
Chris Kirschner: "The Yankees have tried on multiple occasions to land Angels star Shohei Ohtani. Under contract for just one more season, Anaheim could explore moving him if it thinks he won’t re-sign to at least recuperate some assets instead of losing him for nothing"
Kirschner: "That could mean the price to land Ohtani might not be as exorbitant as some might think. We’ve touched on Aaron Judge’s star power, and if the Yankees did lose him, there’s only one player who rivals him in the sport: Ohtani."
Kirschner: "If Judge leaves, the Yankees will do what they can to land Ohtani. Even if Judge re-signs, it wouldn’t be stunning if the Yankees found a way to add Ohtani."

Rizzo opted out.
Told Cashman to go **** himself.
I made the 2nd part up.
He still walked out on the Yanks. Assuming because Judge won't be back and Rizzo wants a team with a competent GM.

I've decided that you're a fan who hates his teams. It's a weird form of self loathing. I respect that...in a twisted way.

Cashman and Gettleman are nearly cut from the same cloth. Nearly. If Gettlman was a car he would be a Ford Pinto, and Cashman would be something like a Gremlin. Slightly better but who gives a crap they both suck anyway. If Cashman losses Judge for nothing, he will be remembered for that and that only. And I'm not joking when I said I may put my Yankees card on the shelf for the year if he is still the GM. He completely screwed the Yankees over this year and for the immediate future and somehow keeps his job. Maybe Rizzo is smart here though. Knowing Judge is leaving, he can basically steal some more of that money from the Yankees in his fin couple of seasons in MLB.

Justin Verlander: Cy Young winner, World Series Champion, married to Kate Upton. Dude is winning life I'd just settle with Kate Upton. But you probably need the other stuff to land that 😉

He did it to cash out, not to kick anyone in the teeth. He simply wants the payday, and he'll most likely get it too!!

So everyone is on Colts backs for hiring Jeff Saturday, a former player and broadcaster, as new interim head coach. Yet Yankees did same thing with Boone as manager, arguably worse because it wasn't even "interim." Yet there was never any push back from the media?

Baseball doesn't have quite the same level of public scrutiny on coaching hires, not even close.

Luis Trevino won the AL Platnum Glove award. Wow. That goes to the best defensive player in the league regardless of position.
Impressive.
It's the first time a Yankee has won the award, and first time any C has won the award.
Held on to Gary Sanchez way too long. Lol

Rizzo is reportedly coming back on a multi year deal I'm happy that he isn't going anywhere He's one of the hitters that really sets up will for the rules changes on shifting. Good signing for us, he really compliments the rest of our lineup well, and is about as good a defensive first baseman as you will ever find.

Mets claim pitcher Stephen Ridings off waivers from Yankees The Mets took a flier on an intriguing crosstown arm that could help their bullpen next season. The club claimed reliever Stephen Ridings off waivers from the Yankees on Tuesday, giving the hard-throwing righty a chance to pitch even closer to home. Ridings, a 27-year-old from Huntington, N.Y., did not pitch at all for the Yankees last season because of right shoulder impingement, which limited him to just two minor league appearances during a September rehab assignment. nypost.com/2022/11/15/mets-claim-pitcher-stephen-ridings-off-waivers-from-yankees/

Yankees ready to pay top dollar to keep Aaron Judge: ‘Not gonna stop us’ Hal Steinbrenner sounds prepared to do what it takes to keep Aaron Judge a Yankee. The Yankees’ managing general partner said Tuesday he told Judge he wants him to stay in The Bronx and indicated money won’t prevent that from happening — at least to a point. “We know where we’re at,” Steinbrenner said of the team’s payroll. “I can tell you, that’s not gonna stop us.” Steinbrenner added in the conversations he’s had with Judge — including a single, face-to-face talk between the two — since the season ended, that he’s made it clear he wants to keep Judge a Yankee. nypost.com/2022/11/15/yankees-ready-to-pay-top-dollar-for-aaron-judge-contract/

The Yankees are many things. What they are not is a team that isn’t willing to spend on their home grown talent. Judge bet on himself, and came out on top. Now it’s the Yankees who have to return the favor.

The homers out here on AM 830 are already whining because Ohtani didn't win it. I think that Ohtani is one of the best players ever, but this was Judge's award. The price to bring him back has increased even more. That picture you posted are all updates to his resume. 45-50 million a year from San Francisco.

The thing I never understood is, they all want to talk about Ohtani hitting as well as pitching, and rightfully so, but with Judge they just talk about his hitting. Hello, he is gold glove caliber OF too who plays CF as well. He robs HRs and makes driving catches all the time.
