Not really liking the pitch clock so far. Nor the 2 throws pickoff limit.

Not really liking the pitch clock so far. Nor the 2 throws pickoff limit. I think the pitch clock we'll get use to it. It's the batter only being able to step out once and havng to get back in in 20 seconds is the one that is going to be called and when a pitcher is in his groove it's going to hurt hitting. Now this 2 pick off throws is going to really hurt pitchers. A base stealer after 2 pick off throws can you imagine the leads these guys are going to have. Even if the catcher throws after the pitch to first the lead will still be enormous. And with the bases being so much bigger 4 inches this year it brings the distance between 1st and 2nd, and 2nd and 3rd by half a foot. 1st and 3rd are 3 and half inches into the base line while 2nd base is an inch and a half on both sides closer. A lot more bang bang plays go to the runner. The challenges should be upheld a lot more. IMO the 2 pick off attempts is going to have a big affect on the games.

But it's all going to matter more in postseason. Can you imagine the last out of a postseason game being decided because of strike 3 because a batter was to slow to get into the box? I don't have an issue with it so far in regular season, but not in postseason.

Need to slow the game down because they are not confident in their swing. The pitch clock will only speed up the inevitable .

LOL Imagine 2 on and 2 out in a tie game we can have challenges that the batter was in the box when the ump called the penalty.

Nationally these games are so important to these teams. Itās unfortunate and it seems likely we wonāt see Diaz until 24ā. Going to have to overcome it.

I hate it too, BUT this happened after the game while celebrating. Not during the game from pitching or running to cover a bag. Tough loss. Great player to watch and had a real impact late in games. With all the Mariano Rivera talks and Diaz, comparing entrance songs, Mo also blew out his knee one year shagging fly balls in practice. That was a tough pill to swallow. Why you out there Mo?

However, I always want to see the best represent their countries. Do you hear Soccer fans crying about Ronaldo competing in the World Cup? Itās the same thing.

And yet itās the typical American snobs today bemoaning thisāuselessā tournament. Do you want the sport to thrive and grow or go away. Itās like railing against pitch clocks and pickoff limits. Even as a huge fan who understands the game I can support that it drags and that a pitches 4th lob over to first base is not necessary in my eyes.

I have kids who watch and play baseball. They are the exception. If you arenāt aware, most of them couldnāt be bothered to pull their heads out of their asses and TiK Toc long enough to have a conversation, let alone watch a baseball game.

Just listening to Ron darling on sny. He likes the tournament and was actually watching live.
His point was he doesn't like the timing. Said he would not be ready to play meaningful games in March. And not that it specifically affected this injury, but it could be a factor in others even later in the season. He suggested maybe taking a longer all-star break and playing when guys are in mid season form.
Fwiw.

I mean, isnāt the MLB season seven months long? Donāt see how a short tournament is the difference between passion and snob. I played ball forever and yeah, many kids opt for games like Lax, soccer b/c watching a bball game can be as boring as playing the game now. 12yrs and beyond is a better game yet regardless of sport all the kids a buried in the iPhone. Is what it is.

But, the players care, especially the Latino countries who take great pride in their numbers in the Majors and in particular wining against the US and winning this tournament. This is their Country's world championship, and it's endorsed by MLB, It's only existed since 2006, so there's not a whole lot of real history Not a single one of them thinks they're ever going to be hurt. They've played thousands of games in their lives and have finished 99% of them without a scratch. Remember McKinney fracturing his hand riding an ATV while on our break last season? These guys never think they're going to be hurt... they're young, strong, and in their prime, plus, boys will be boys and that's where their brains are at... they're young men playing boys games, and each feels they're never going to be hurt... especially in baseball. It sucks. He's just the best reliever in MLB and we'll definitely lose a few games he might have saved. But can't do anything but adjust to it and move on.

I agree that baseball has to do things to cater to the younger and more diverse audience. They really shouldn't be caring what a bunch of middle aged (I'm one) and old men are thinking about the game. They're gonna watch anyways because they're already sold. Even if some did leave, new people will buy in. The league is doing what they belief is best for business growth. It's a paper chase.

When the players speak the excitement and nationalism is there. People say people play for countries they arenāt even from, but that happens in all world tournaments.
