How is Gleyber Torres a potential 40 HR hitter now at age 22 as a middle infielder? Where did this come from? Jeez. Good guys win 4-1 Judge hits a 2 run to start bomb Gleyber solo shot Romine tacks on a RBI Bullpen game on point. On to BOSTON Funny, we dont see Morehead around much anymore. Loved seeing Gleyber sporting that Barkley jersey at his presser. Dude is a Yankee for life.

Hopefully we can end any chance of playoffs for the saux this weekend. The Sux are toast. I'm more concerned about home field advantage against the Astros & Dodgers, than the stinkin, low life Red Sux. And I'm not taking the 1st round for granted either. The Indians, Twins & Rays could easily beat the Yanks in the ALDS, if we don't play our best baseball.

Hicks' setback could end his season BOSTON -- Aaron Hicks’ season could be in jeopardy after the outfielder experienced a setback in his recovery from a flexor strain in his right elbow, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said prior to Saturday’s game against the Red Sox. Boone said that Hicks has been unable to resume throwing following the injury, which he sustained in an Aug. 3 game against Boston. Hicks was sent for a dye-contrast MRI this week that revealed no new concerns with his ulnar collateral ligament. www.mlb.com/yankees/news/aaron-hicks-suffers-setback-in-recovery

Severino, Betances impress in rehab outings TRENTON, N.J. -- While the Yankees battled the rival Red Sox nearly 250 miles to the north, two of New York’s most important players got their first taste of playoff action Friday night. That would be the Eastern League playoffs, as Luis Severino and Dellin Betances suited up for Double-A Trenton, helping the Thunder punch their ticket to the Eastern League Championship Series. www.mlb.com/yankees/news/luis-severino-dellin-betances-pitch-at-double-aThe rest of the team popped champagne corks following the 12-2 win over Reading. But Severino and Betances are hoping their contributions to the team’s big victory were a sign of things to come after they've missed the entire season with shoulder and lat injuries.

Yankees reinstate Urshela, Estrada from IL Prior to Sunday's game against the Red Sox, the Yankees reinstated third baseman Gio Urshela and infielder Thairo Estrada from the 10-day injured list and recalled catcher Kyle Higashioka and infielder Breyvic Valera from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Urshela has been outstanding for the Yankees this season, hitting .331/.370/.555 with 18 homers and 67 RBIs in 414 plate appearances and helping the club overcome the loss of third baseman Miguel Andújar to season-ending right shoulder surgery. The 27-year-old required a minimum stay on the IL with a left groin ailment. www.mlb.com/yankees/news/gio-urshela-thairo-estrada-return-from-injured-list

Dave Dombrowski is FIRED as the GM of the Red Sox, while they are still the defending champs. Wow. What's next firing Cora? I was very surprised as well but I will say that the two huge contracts he paid out this off season to Eovaldi and Sale were foolish. Combine that with the dumb contract for Price and you can see how he has put the organization behind the 8 ball.
And calling our staff "talented" was dumb. They are terrible. The only decent starter left (ERod) was the only one Dave didn't bring in.

So you get less than a year cushion in Boston? Thats dumb. He unloaded the farm sure. But it payed off. And its not like they talent isnt there. Devers, Xander, Mookie, BEnintendi, Vazques looks good now. 3 reasons the 2018 RS won and were so good, Sale, JD and Pearce. All 3 were Dombrowski. Enjoy your off season.
