According to Graziano the Giants seem to like Maye, but if they aren’t able to trade up to get him they also like Penix and might be willing to take him at 6 and the sense that he got was they are “very open, if not desperate” to get a QB, tomorrow.

If there is a guy you want, then you move heaven and earth to get him, however, desperation can also lead to mistakes. I want a QB, but I don't want them to get one because they think they have to come away with one and are settling. I like Penix and get that he won't probably be there after the Raiders or Broncos, but...

Penix has some things to like for sure.
Personally, I can't get over the fact that Andrew Thomas would not be protecting his blindside, but maybe I'm wrong about how big of a deal that is.

It also changes how your WR's and RB line up. I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned more with Penix. Like you said, maybe it's not as big of a deal as it seems.

If we reach for a QB with this swiss cheese roster I'll lose my faith in the front office.
People didn't like it with DJ, and Im not going to like it with Maye or Penix.
Why make the same mistake all over again. Build the d*mn roster!

Damn! these reporters are good! they know information they weren't even told and IF they were, it was obviously not true. some people are gullible as hell, we keep hearing about how we so fixated on a QB which pretty much confirms were not even targeting one at 6

Well, he's been often injured due to a historically bad line and only 1 winning season in 5. I obviously like Jones but can't call that a success. If Eli couldn't get it done after winning 2 Super Bowls, hard to expect a Duke QB to jump right in and be a winner. Should have signed a vet. As much as I like Barkley drafting a RB a year before was arguably even more stupid. That's not a way to build a team in the modern day.

Wow so much smoking about QBs they are begging teams to trade up essentially. Could 5 QBs go top 5?

I hope Mara doesn't want this because he'd probably be willing to give up the house and car keys to get him due to his resemblance to Eli Manning.
He has the voice, mannerisms, even the shoulder twitch down like Eli had.

They shouldn't take him period being he has a longer injury history than DJ, If the inkling crosses their mind they should do it by trading down not wasting more valuable capital trying to trade up. After Maye and McCarthy all all fro grabbing someone later Rattler or Milton Rattler has a real chance Milton needs 2 years maybe 3 of development but if he hits wow he has everything else.

About 25 teams are looking at Penix as an option after the top 4 guys are gone ... lol

I’m cool with Penix in the first preferably not at 6. It wouldn’t kill me if he got selected at 6. He’s very talented he’s my third favorite quarterback in the draft behind Daniels and McCarthy. I’ve been promoting him being over his injuries and worth the risk for a while now just not at 6. I don’t think he’ll make it to the second round however. It is what it is.

Damn...said the same thing the first time I heard DJ speak, but Maye sounds just like Eli. He even has that subtle lisp, or whatever you want to call it. Crazy.
I actually think Maye is a great fit for what we need. He has everything you can ask for physically, he's more than willing to push the ball down the field, his arm is strong enough to cut through the cold winds at MetLife come December and January, he's only 21 and still has plenty of growth and upside to look forward to, etc. He seems like a relatively safe bet and, in my opinion, he's the only QB not named Caleb that's worth trading up for. High ceiling, low risk.

Milton has had the same tools since he came out of high school and has sucked ever since. He sucked at Michigan got beat out by both Cade McNamara and JJ McCarthy. He went over to Tennessee where he barely won the starting job and was even benched last season. Huge guy with some speed and goes down like a house of cards. Huge arm - strongest at the combine but he’s not accurate enough and he still hasn’t learned to be consistent with touch on the ball. QB coaches including Harbaugh worked on him for years - basically same results. He ain’t got it. Back up at best IMO. Of the 2 Rattler is the easy choice. He’s not that great either though. Pratt from Tulane is the later round person to be interested in. We all have opinions that’s mine. 😀

If the Giants cant get Caleb Williams or Jayden Daniels, they will move to Drake Maye or JJ McCarthy who they really love. However if those options dont work, Penix and Nix are also on their radar and they really love them too. And dont be surprised to see Hartman or Rattler called at 6 by the Giants as I heard from a source they really love those 2 QBs as well. Now, Jordan Travis and Joe Milton II, those 2 QBs could be targeted by the Giants brass as well, knowing they really love those 2 QBs in this draft.
But they might also not be targeting a QB at all, as they reportedly love other prospects in this draft too.
Thats all I got. Back to you Jim.

If the Giants took Michael Penix at #6 I would be fine with that. This is a very deep WR class. They can draft a fine WR prospect in RD 2.

Close your eyes, that's Eli talking lol. If Mara can draft a reach like Dan Jones all because he shared the same college coach and has some mannerisms as Eli... Imagine the hard on Mara has right now for this guy

The concussion from when he decided he could run straight over a Cowboys D lineman or the neck injury when he had plenty of time to step out of bounds against the Eagles or the ACL which also had nothing to do with the O line? If he didn’t take unnecessary risks on 2 of those 3 injuries we wouldn’t be talking about it right now. The ACL is just a freak deal. As to his 2nd injury against Miami, again, we wouldn’t even be talking about it if the first one didn’t happen. His lack of pocket awareness and poor decision making has a lot more to do with the cause of his injuries than the O line.

He even wore #10 at UNC. Man, that video makes him sound like the Eli/DJ continuation. Lets see, Eli is now 43 years old. Maye is 21. Eli play out that way in 2002/03? lol

Of the big 6, Penix is the worst fit for the Giants. He looked terrible, under pressure, in the NC game against Michigan. He's also the least mobile QB in this draft...that's not a good combo with an OLine with JMS, Neal, and no depth.
