if Jones gets 30 TDS if the line holds up is it worth it to keep Jones again? I think Schoen has shown that when he does draft a QB it will be the one he wants and believes is gonna make the team a contender year in and year out so if he could have gotten Maye or Williams Jones would more than likely be finishing up his Giants career. If he could get his hands on a top flight talent tha he believes in he will do what EA did with Collins word is he talked to teh Bears in January for teh #1 pick they said no he went hard at the patriots and they said no so he was looking it just had to be the right one. Oh, I’m sure he did Dog but that’s the point. He was looking at 2 of the top 3 prospects and passed on others that would have been ranked even higher most years. When does he think he’ll find a prospect as good as Williams or Daniels or Maye AND find some team even willing to trade AND would he be willing to give up several years of 1sts and 2nds and probably players to even have a chance at one of them? Now if Jones sets the world on fire with his QB play and manages to stay healthy OR if we end up picking in the top 5 then it’s all a moot point and my assessment of Jones and or the entire team is wrong. *With the exception if Jones gets hurt early in the season or we lose games with Locke, Jones domes in and then gets hurt or Locke put us in such a hole before DJ that we could end up picking in the top 10 again.

Honestly, I’ll say I’m a bit of a hypocrite because I’ve used TD’s both for and against arguments because that’s what everyone else uses but I think it’s a lame stat. I still prefer the eye test. Jones (or any QB) could have 20 of 30 TD’s from throwing several 5 yard slants or screens to Nabers but miss wide open receivers downfield on other series and we end up punting. It’s the same reason I don’t put a lot of stock into total yards. I could throw 5 yard one read screens to Barkley all day, he takes off for 30 yards, and I get the credit. Ridiculous. Same goes for RB’s. Give the ball to the true workhorse all day who ran for 100 yards but give the ball to the bruiser within the 5-10 yard line and he ends up racking up TD’s. That happened with the ewok and Pollard a few years ago IIRC and some of his dumbass fans would use his TD numbers compared to Pollards to defend his worthless ass when Pollard did all the work. At the end of the day it's about scoring on offense and stopping people on D. QBs need to be good decision makers and have the conviction to let the ball go with anticaption where the WR is supposed to be out of his break, Jones has trouble with that part give him time he can pick a D apart, it is when the time is short that he has 0 anticipation and accuracy goes down. Thats what got me off of Penix, now he might be just fine because it seems Atlanta is going to develop him correctly something the Giants botched big time with Jones. Also I like their approach and how the Jets are going about it once you have your guy they should still take QBs with promise and develop either they play for you or develop that 3rd 4th or 5th rounder if he does really well your gonna get good capital for him or he will be your backup at less than 1 mill per. First you gotta have your guy tho.

I really think this year in light of Jones contract he might have been like for some one special yes I will eat glass and pay later if it doesn't work out , there is a lot of over lap if they did it now with jones contract and the rookie deal. think when he fixes this he wants it to be closer to the last year with little guaranteed money left and a really solid roster to plant that QB seed into I agree tho he passed on all of them not even a flyer on Rattler or Milton or Pratt.

Like you said were the opportunities missed down filed or was the only thing available were the slants and check downs etc.

Those are my favorite fan comments.
If Jones throws 30 TDs I don't give a shit if he has -2 IAY (intended air yards) I'll be happy. It's about making the offense work...period. No one cares that Mahommes had one of the lowest IAY/Pass in the league (30th). He got the job done and that's all that matters.

This guy has freakish athleticism for his size. Now that he has a good QB throwing him the ball hope we see an increase in production.
