Unfortunately there are too many doctors that are flat out stupid and lazy. Let's just say I have personal experience with this; I had a guy prescribe me something a couple of years ago that completely contrindicated with another medication. Luckily, my wife is a nurse and she caught it. He seriously could've killed me. Good thing your wife caught it. Did you confront the doctor? Yes, over the phone. He couldn't have cared less. Needless to say I got a new doctor.

I’m guessing it was a while ago or did you blast him on social media? The thing about that of course is that the doctor must not violate HIPAA, although something makes me think this guy wouldn’t know or care about that either.

A similar thing happened to my dad before he passed away. He had a lot going on and had 3 different doctors, none of which checked with each other about the meds they were prescribing. A few were not supposed to be taken together.

This is the NFL policy:
"Players are responsible for what is in their bodies and a positive test will not be excused because a player was unaware that he was taking a prohibited substance."
Time to close this thread.

Time to close this thread. This may be true, but these days a team could be more proactive and make someone on the coaching staff review each player's proposed meds and be available for counseling / research.

Tate was married in March 2017 and already has two children with his wife.
The second child was born in February, 2019.
And he’s taking fertility drugs in April? Hmmm

It’s like smoking a joint and getting drug tested the next day and being shocked you failed. Guy knew what he was doing he just happened to get caught.

I fully expect him to be suspended for the 4 games. League has zero tolerance with this stuff

I mean, it's possible that they used fertility drugs for the first 2 kids also ... but usually people don't jump into fertility drugs until they have spent some time trying to conceive naturally. The timeline doesn't really make sense here ....

The timeline doesn't really make sense here .... No, and these players are absolutely aware of fertility drugs and the fact that a lot of medication used in these situations are banned. This is not the first time we've heard this story. If they dont know they're being ignorant.

I think Robert Mathis who played for he Colts was another who got suspended for taking fertility pills. He appealed, but was suspended. His situation was nearly the same. The league took the stance that players were provided a means to check if certain drugs/ingredience were on the banned list and threrefore took full responsibility for its use.

If they dont know they're being ignorant. Maybe it's just me but if anyone is ignorant it's the people make judgments on others without the facts. The facts are he tested positive for a banned substance. Unless im wrong?

What does that have to do with the fact that he tested positive for a banned substance? ............means the case is being appealed. Yes, it is being appealed. Thats great. Im still not trying to understand what you're saying here. You think fertility drugs having banned substances in them are a... new thing? Speaking of ignorance.

What does that have to do with the fact that he tested positive for a banned substance? ............means the case is being appealed. Eh, he is essentially pleading guilty with an excuse, so an appeal is not going to change the FACT that he tested positive.

Hopefully the league reduces the suspension to two games on appeal

............means the case is being appealed. Eh, he is essentially pleading guilty with an excuse, so an appeal is not going to change the FACT that he tested positive. maybe since he made it known prior to the test he will get a game or two chopped off the suspension.

I said at the beginning of the thread I thought the suspension would stick but I do believe he is telling the truth. Of course you do
