How many times are we going to watch this guy run down the field, not turn his head, and get beat by a WR with ease? Absolutely zero improvement since he started in this league.
I think we should consider cutting him by end of training camp. The next guy up is not any worse. We don't need this garbage player and locker room cancer on the Giants.

Well, it's only one preseason game. Apple hasn't been what they wanted from him......I'll hang in for the real season and see, after that?

Know what you're saying, but I was more worried how the depth played, shit open all over. then again, I don't like thinking too much over a practice type game.

We have what we have Talent wise. That's not going to improve. They are what they are a 3 win team that made an 0-16 team and a team that's won 1 game in two years look GOOD

If I was an opposing QB I would be throwing back shoulder throws on him all game.

It's only one preseason game, but I keep reading camp reports about receivers making plays on him in practice.
There's a really funny live draft reaction on Youtube from a Giants fan named "Bengal" who flipped out when Roger Goodell called his name. Sadly, that video is aging like fine wine.

Jenkins also got worked... Awful game all around for coverage. Collins looked good in the box though. Never liked Eli Apple. Never thought it was a good pick. Hope he can at least provide depth. Very disappointing Sam Beal is out for the year.

Leonard Johnson looks encouraging. Agreed. They really need to get Donte Deayon and William Gay out there to get some reps in live pre-season action. Same goes for Curtis Riley at the FS spot.

The both need to get off the sideline .They have hammy issues. Those types of injuries can be tricky . One week too quick coming back is the difference between playing and IR.

You can’t cut Apple. We have no one better.
That being said, his play on the field has not even come close to living up to his draft position, and last year he quit on his team.
JR ... the gift that keeps on giving ....

On one play, a back shoulder throw near the sideline, Apple was so awkward that when he tried, late, to turn his head, he stumbled backwards, travelling completely out of position to make a tackle. Not a good look. And he's supposed to be one of our 2 good corners? Yikes!

That's the most difficult part of playing the position. The DB's are taught not to look back until they are "in phase" with the receiver. They need to be able to get in lock step with the receiver before they turn for the ball or risk losing him.

More like the player wasting his opportunity. He seems lazy and maybe a bit uncoachable.

JR ... the gift that keeps on giving .... I know he ended up breaking his leg but I would feel much better with Ross Cockrell on this team. I see the secondary as the big big BIG problem with this squad. Why did they spend that money on Jonathan Stewart again?

Crazy thought. Would Eli Apple make a good safety alongside Collins?

Started for the Steelers...spot-started for the Giants....it’s not like they grow on trees. In today’s league you need them. It was a bargain to get him for a 7th rounder and he should have been locked up. Now we’re pulling out CBS from the grab bag smh
