"...overwhelming data shows that running backs simply are more a product of their environment than their own transcendent talent." When I discovered Dave Gettleman was a bad GM Alex?... As I sit and watch the senior bowl, and listen to DJ ...let's play GM, can't do any worse than our very own DG. In free agency, after further research, I am letting go of the Conklin affair. His tape on pass blocking is not too exciting, actually meh...we might end up with Solder 2, overpaid average. I'm holding onto Solder for another year cause we have to, and going tackles hot and heavy. In free agency, I see a deep class of pass rushers, corners, and safeties with a weak class with tight ends, centers and OL...I'm spending our much heralded cap check, as I see absolutely no reason to collect it... no interest earned. I'm signing, or bidding...on a pass rusher, maybe two...maybe a safety and maybe a corner. OL gets a pass, weal FA class...I've experienced Dave Gettleman "depth" signings...I want no more of that on the OL. It hurts. And can posters please stop with the "it's free agency, we need to overpay" when it's a player you want...vs... "we'll be stuck with an overpaid player" when it's a player you DON'T want? Please...it's kind of generic and played out...like Led Zeppelin's stolen tunes from poor black folk with immense talents... Let's bring it on home.... Panthers offered for the 4 pick, and I accepted...pick 9 and 20. 9: R1P9 OT JEDRICK WILLSALABAMA 20: R1P20 OT MEKHI BECTONLOUISVILLE 36: R2P4 C LLOYD CUSHENBERRYLSU Bam, one trade back and our offensive line is revamped...with the overpaid crapola Solda still kept...Dave Gettleman?... why did you sign him again? We knew what he was when you signed him, while even an Irish Mike, roses are red, nothing bad about the Giants can be said, posting about this signing has nobody fooled...well, now all realize even the "we had to overpay" crap was just that...a huge pile. We're keeping him?... because, well...we sort of have to...cause the GM locked us into the LT vault. 107: R4P4 LB TROY DYEOREGON Needs weight, but he can cover. Not too great at shedding blocks, but sideline to sideline he is a motorized maniac. If we can get Patty Queen, whom I thought was a sophomore ... well, he's the linebacker with athletic abilities supreme. The supreme Queen? 110: R4P7 WR DENZEL MIMSBAYLOR 150: R5P4 Mims and Van Jefferson says, we have a lot of quality receivers for Jones, whom has a lot more time due to Barkley running in A gaps that the talent creates lanes, and running precise routes and catching anything thrown near them...has anybody ever watched the catch radius of Mims? It's quite sick...in a good way. Oh, another tidbit...due to the vast supply of receivers this year in the draft, you might get a sale in free agency...same with running back...another deep class. CB LEVONTA TAYLORFLORIDA STATE 152: R5P6 Slot anyone? This is a talent that was the best corner prospect on the flat planet earth...coming out of high school. I'm talking 5 star...and the BEST. 2 years later? He has size issues. The talent is still there...I'm saying you compete at the slot with Pride and Bassey...we're sure to find a sud from those 3. WR VAN JEFFERSONFLORIDA 183: R6P4 The combine winner...scouts are loving this guy. I was mocking him late in many mocks...if you watch any SEC you see the immense routes...the coaches son...he's moving way up. I'll still enjoy him in the 6th round. CB TROY PRIDE JR.NOTRE DAME Smaller track star who is moving up the ladder in the senior bowl. Another mocked many times ...now the word is out, and scouts get to work and bam...they rise. 218: R7P4 OT JACK DRISCOLLAUBURN A possible starter in the 7th round? Okay, sure...my 3rd tackle...but the OL will be set for the next GM...me. 238: R7P24 CB ESSANG BASSEYWAKE FOREST Bassey vs Taylor...our slot will be in good hands. 247: R7P33 LB MALIK HARRISONOHIO STATE Malik will be taken before this, but it's cool to take him in this spot.

He reminds me my dad's partner, whom never said anything negative about the Giants. I wish I could be that positive, but damn was Solder a huge mistake, a signing I chirped about at the time as oh no please no...only to be shut down by nearly, well...everyone. I was hoping Thomas would slide, but the way this turns out, Becton plays LT, until Solder finally realizes he is stealing our money...and Wills plays RT. I loved Conklin coming out...but in the NFL he has issues with pass rushers...big time. He was always a bit of an overachiever and why we see him grind away on run plays...but his lack of athletic ability shines on obvious pass downs. Read a stat, he is the most helped right tackle, in regards of blocking, on pass downs in the NFL. Seems the coaches see how porous his pass blocking is. I've also noted he wants a LOT of contract with the ultimate GM...

Seems every hyped lineman coming from Alabama has been some sort of bust in the NFL... Though I like him more than Leatherwood(the prototypical tackle from that school that is overdrafted and a slug at the next level),who got owned by Chaisson in their game vs LSU all day

So Little change in strategy Not buying an o lineman in FA...Conklin is front running fools gold that gets exposed when the Titans have ti pass it more than 12 times a game....
So
Cut Ellison Martin Ogletree
Resign/Extend Golden Williams Tomlinson
Sign Byron Jones Dante Fowler
Have cash left over to roll into 2021 and still hit the floor
Traded back one spot with Miami and got their 2nd and 3rd..who then gifted me the chance to trade back one more spot with the Chargers for their 2nd because they chose Wills..
3 early 2nds and in effect getting our 3rd back we traded away for Williams..
6: R1P6 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA
We have to protect Jones and dominate the LOS on this side of the ball.. This helps the defense as.much as throwing a high risk pick for an athlete with no defined position bu controlling clock and scoring at will..
Starts day 1 at RT and is a 10 year starting LT in 2021.
36: R2P4 EDGE BRADLEE ANAE UTAH
This guy was a forcd watching as.many Utah games as I did.. A 4 man edge rush rotation of Anae,Golden,Xman and Fowler...I like this
37: R2P5 C LLOYD CUSHENBERRY LSU
Instant day one upgrade starter at C...line almost finished
39: R2P7 TE ADAM TRAUTMAN DAYTON
Yes this guy has freak written all over him...possibly makes Engram trade bait
70: R3P6 WR JALEN REAGOR TCU
Easiest way to open up the run game in the modern NFL 1.dominant o line (hopefully built) dynamic X factor playmaker outside that forces teams at the very least have to play 2 deep zone...2nd half of the Championship game the Chiefs gave the Titans a dose of their own medicine by slowing the game down and going extreme run heavy because they were frightened by Hill and Hardeman.. Establish Reagor early and Slayton taking the next step and Barkley can threaten Dickerson's record
98: R3P34 LB TROY DYE OREGON
Instead of risking a top 4-6 pick on a boom or bust athlete,I took a linebacker that does a lot of those things from his inside position...behind our D line and Connelly coming back hopefully..I'm really liking this front 7
107: R4P4 OT LUCAS NIANG TCU
Has he been beaten yet? Future RT that seasons a bit before starting next year when Soldier is deleted.
150: R5P4 LB JACOB PHILLIPS LSU
Most great defenses find their linebackers between rounds 2 and 5 This guy hanging around round 5..insurance in case Connelly isnt the same .. An inside LB group of Phillips,Connelly,Dye and Carter(who I think will flourish as an inside SAM)..me likely
183: R6P4 CB LEVONTA TAYLOR FLORIDA STATE
Slot prospect as most of our young guys are prototypical outside corners
218: R7P4 RB PATRICK TAYLOR JR. MEMPHIS
Depth behind Barkley who is also good in the passing game.
238: R7P24 S JULIAN BLACKMON UTAH
Daym this guy is down here?
247: R7P33 K RODRIGO BLANKENSHIP GEORGIA
Basicly a "throw away" pick..but late give this clutch kid with the Buddy Holly glasses a chance to compete with Rosas.. TRADES TRADE PARTNER: MIAMI DOLPHINS SENT: ROUND: 1 PICK: 4 RECEIVED: ROUND: 1 PICK: 5 ROUND: 2 PICK: 7 ROUND: 3 PICK: 6 TRADE PARTNER: LA CHARGERS SENT: ROUND: 1 PICK: 5 RECEIVED: ROUND: 1 PICK: 6 ROUND: 2 PICK: 5

Becauae dumbass Washington took Okuhda and Detroit took Simmons... So after signing Barrett and franchising Golden of course this happens to me.. Best player in draft, can't ever have enough pass rush...opposite Barrett and with X man and a franchised Golden...see below what I try to end up doing..
44: R2P12 C TYLER BIADASZ WISCONSIN
Dire need of O line help..gets the C spot and interior solidified..
47: R2P15 TE ADAM TRAUTMAN DAYTON
Sadly no tackles left of value...he makes possibly Engram expendable in a trade down the line..
55: R2P23 WR K.J. HAMLER PENN STATE
See above..a bunch of recievers stacked in this area...Mims went one spot ahead of me..get the best dynamic X factor WR on the board to open up everything else with Slayton..
75: R3P11 LB TROY DYE OREGON
A little early..but now add a highly athletic interior LB to this front 7..
98: R3P34 OT LUCAS NIANG TCU
Future starter at LT,maybe pushes for a starting job at RT this year...
113: R4P10 G DAMIEN LEWIS LSU
BPA..let's be proactive and get Zeitler's replacement on the roster now and with depth.
165: R5P19 OT CALVIN THROCKMORTON OREGON
Didn't have the best senior bowl week, just missed out on Driscoll...dunno what happened but maybe some solid coaching and we get a solid RT out of him
183: R6P4 CB LEVONTA TAYLOR FLORIDA STATE
Slot corner prospect
218: R7P4 OT YASIR DURANT MISSOURI
Because I took Young and missed out on the top tackle prospects its spray and pray time at OT..
238: R7P24 S JULIAN BLACKMON UTAH
Why is this guy back here...depth for secondary
247: R7P33 LB DE'JON HARRIS ARKANSAS
BPA
I.. Well...when you have a chance to get a unicorn edge guy like Young, you don't pass on him...even if you go into the offseason not expecting to get a guy like this and go the FA route so we wouldn't be shopping hungry. So paying 2 bigtime FAs and this haul The starting defense would look like in a 3/4 Lawrence. Tomlinson(who I extended 5 years) William's.
Young.... Connelly/Dye/Carter(2 of 3) Barrett. With X man and Golden in rotation
Jones Peppers Love Baker.
this defense looks a lot better on paper with someone who claims to be able to scheme players and not the other way around..
Now
Would you try to trade Golden for a 3rd or 4th?
The downside is that other than center where we got a legit beast...its hold your breath and hope one of these guys work out at T ....

The year we finally draft an offensive line and fix this crap of a team. Yeah, I get it...not shiny, not sexy, not touching the football, not creating direct fantasy points....boring players nobody EVER pays attention to until they allow a sack. Yet, the most important aspect of any team. The idiocy stops this year. 9: R1P9 OT ANDREW THOMAS GEORGIA 20: R1P20 OT MEKHI BECTON LOUISVILLE 55: R2P23 Oh baby...a trade down and still get Thomas and Becton. I'd still take Thomas at 4 all day long...and come away from this draft happy we are set at left tackle for Jones...adding tiny B to the right side only makes Barkley and Jones more dangerous, and that makes our receivers more dangerous... Speaking of catch the damn ball guys.... WR JALEN REAGOR TCU Reagor at this spot is about right with the depth of this class. Triple tap...OL, OL and OL....Solder can sit to preserve Dave Gettlemans job, as Daniel Jones is protected by a intense running game...and some tackles that can pass block well.

In starting to think Burrow doesnt want to got to Cincy.
Could he pull an Eli/Elway?
Imagine Washington giving Cincy 2020 (1), 2020 (2) 2021 (1) and Haskins (Ohio St) for that #1 and go Burrow.

I really liked this draft. Simmons in round one gives us a dynamic player who can make plays all over the field. Would finally have someone at LB who can cover tight ends. His versatility would be a big asset. Anae in round two is someone who plays hard as hell on the edge. He is really good with his hands and would be a really good piece on this defense IMO. Ideally I would have liked to go OT earlier but Niang is a really good player who could become an eventual starter for years. Dugger is a big safety who has speed and can play everywhere. He has return ability, good tackler, and can also cover TEs. He came into the Senior Bowl a sleeper but he’s getting recognition now. He is supposed to blow up the combine. Gandy-Golden is a big WR with freakish body control and athleticism. He’s very similar to JPP as far as the flips and all of that seen before the draft. Hopefully his impact would be more on JPPs level and not the “JPP of TEs” in Robinson lol. Amik Robertson is a smaller CB who plays much bigger. Very psychical CB for his size and has good ball skills. Just has a nose for the ball and has drawn some Honeybadger comps because of that (might be a bit of a stretch but that’s kind of his style of play). I would have wanted to go C before I did but getting someone with that level of experience at a high level program is encouraging especially at that point in the draft. Taylor is a physical RB who would be a great addition to the rotation. Gipson is a solid edge guy I like late. I think he could produce a lot for where he’ll be picked

So what did we learn about the Super bowl that can apply to us,other than inept coaching kills?
Speed wins in the modern NFL,both sides of the ball These were the 2 fastest offenses according to next gem stats
Both teams had dynamic weapons that helped open up the running game.
So ..no plodders..big is not better if they are ponderous

2 trade backs...after watching the Chiefs and 49ers with their dynamic players outside I had to fight the urge to take Lamb here... But Lamb would be useless with Jones looking up at the cloud formations all game Deep draft, acquired a ton of picks...the playmakers will be addressed Let's build a great line Thomas...he seems to be the girl you have been dating for 2 years but she is getting stale and you start looking at others... Not me..best tackle since the last decade
39: R2P7 C TYLER BIADASZ WISCONSIN
No brainer Plug and play top badass center from day 1...loving this line..

1st 2 picks are arguably my 2 favorite players in the draft. Starters for YEARS to come.
3rd round- Anquan Boldin remake, awesome route runner, PHENOMENAL hands, not the blocker Boldin was, but equally as good catching over traffic
4th- Rangy coverage specialist who can play the 1 high spot allowing Peppers and Love to run free
5th-
6th and 7th- Pass rush specialists who in time can contribute
7th- Pass catching threat, smooth, fast, agile
7th- Durant has the size, speed, and power to e something special.... unfortunately he has t-rex arms

Tried something a little different in this one. Missed out on any decent OTs til Adams whocis a HUGE risk HUGE reward pick. If healthy he could be a top OT, but thats a HUGE IF, rhats why i drafted Driscoll immediately after him.
Love Zack Moss, he would be a change of pace, beat em up type RB to compliment SQB

I know you don't, but I'm guessing a LOT of posters never seen him, and are thinking we're getting a Josh Allen/Von Miller type player vs a coverage linebacker who lines up at safety quite a bit.
