Should have said the D played them really well. Either way we played "the greatest team in the universe" much better than damn near everyone here thought we would. People didn't think we would score, didn't think we would get a first down, thought they would put up 60 (or 90). Anyone that watched the game would say we played them well (I think). I agree the game was closer than the final score indicates, and we played them close for most of the game. But we didnt even cover the ridiculous spread. It's just sad to me that we Giants fans are at the point where we are saying we played well in a 21 point loss. Ugh, not really considering who the Giants had at WR, no running game at all and playing at Foxboro. If the Giants had their starting offensive, that game would have been a nailbiter until the end. You have to realize that the Giants tore their team apart mid 2018 season. They are playing established teams and playoff teams with the youngest roster in the NFL. If the defense can build off that game it actually can be a stepping stone...

Rams had an AWFUL day dealt Peters to deal 2 Round 1s for a marginal upgrade in Ramsey. This trade will sink the Rams moving forward.

The defense gave up 35 points...when was the last time our offense scored more than 35 points? I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but I have a hard time buying that we played well while losing by 21 points. Yes, the defense showed improvement. Yes, we played them hard until they ran away with the game. Yes, we had a bunch of injuries on offense. So what? Maybe the NFL should start a handicap system so we can finally win some games...

Some times we play well and lose by 21, sometimes we play like crap and win by 14. I can tell you for sure the Pats fans didn't wake up Friday feeling like they played great...even though they won by 21.

How do you rate corners? Breaking down coaches film? (They do). I’m being serious. I’m all for anyone dismissing PFF, but their guys watch every play of every player. So if that’s not good, what is a good measure to grade corners? Peters is 26 years with 24 career INTs and 67 passes defended. He was on the forks in a defensive battle in the SB last year against NE. He picked off Jimmy G last week as they had the Niners passing game shut down.

Agreed. Having just watched the game tonight, I'd say we played pretty damn well despite the score.

We held Tom Brady to zero TDs and 1 INT. We were the first team to throw a TD against the Pats this season, without our top WR, top TE and top two RBs. Not sure how anyone can seriously say we didn't play well. The D looked really damn good, although they gassed bad in the 4th.

A) Gave up over 400 yards B) Pats were missing 3 Olineman C) Wind was effectively a 12th defender Those are how I can say we didn’t play well. We made 1 play on offense. We made a nice stand early and 3rd and 4th and short, The sack, fumble TD Brady held the ball forever. Total brain fart by him. I think the Jets are gonna beat the Pats Monday if they get Mosley back, Pats are a mess on offense right now. No TEs in a scheme that loves TEs and the Oline is in shambles.

I don't "rate" corners. But if I was interested (for some odd reason) to try and figure which CB's are the league's best; I surely wouldn't look to the nonsense that is PFF.

I asked what you would look at? Tell me what it is and we can see where Peters stacks up.

D actually gave up just 21 as the other 14pts were scored on a "blocked" punt & a fumble recovery for a TD. A fully healthy NY team & we mighta actually pulled this game out or at least made it very close at the end.

Last year we lost 5 or 7 games by less than a TD, or in the last 2 minutes. Who cares? It's putting lipstick on a pig. Win some games.

I don’t want to hear a word about playoffs or division titles until we are .500 or above. Until that it’s just Unicorns and pixie dust talk. How about this - let’s win a game that we’re not supposed to win. That will get my attention.

When reality is ignored and we pretend we are the only team in the league some of this analysis makes sense. The fans who think we played well, showed improvement, yada yada on Thursday have a really low bar. They also are completely ignoring the issues the Pats are facing on offense. The Pats are being carried by D and an incredibly weak schedule thus far. Their Oline is a wreck. They have no TEs. They signed Brown because they needed Brown and had to let him go.

Were they missing 3 Olineman? Did wind forced errant throws, a missed FG, and going on 4th twice in FG range because of the wind? No. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.

I missed the last 2 games but watch the condensed version of the Pats game last night. I have to say that we played much better than the score indicated.
Looked to me like the defense has made strides, and our offense playing without Shep, Evan, Wayne, and Saquon were pretty scrappy despite being short-handed.
Bottom line is we went toe to toe with the best team in the league for much of the game. I'm pretty optimistic going forward.

LOL, ............................." Running Backs don't matter".This poster doesn't matter either, yet people still feed the troll Being realistic is not trolling. The team is 2-4. Rest assured my comments will reflect what’s actually happening. If we are winning I will 200% be positive about that. The Vikings and Pats games in the 4 day span were not a good showing for this team. If some wanna ignore what happened in NE that’s up to them. Weather aided this D and a backup Oline aided this D. With the aid they still gave up over 400 yards of offense. That isn’t a good performance.

After cutdowns we weren't even in the top half That ranking includes Eli, recompute and the Giants jump around the top 7... Also, Jenkins is going to be gone next year so they will even be younger.

Then you should know the D did not give up 35 points. I never said they did. The team scored 10 and gave up 35. If you want to describe that as "playing them well," have at it. IMO, the only reason anyone would say they played well against the Pats was if they bought into the BS in the media (and here) that suggested we should sit DJ so he wouldnt get hurt, or that we might get shut out. I actually saw a post here suggesting we forfeit, although not sure it was serious. Lets agree to disagree. But it makes me sad for our fan base when I see posts like I've seen here around the Pats game.

As for why people would say they played well...because they clearly did and 99% of the people that watched that game would agree. If you hold Tom Brady to zero TDs and 1 Int and stop the Pats on 2 4th downs and score a defensive TD against them and have the only passing TD on the year against them that is pretty damn good.
