Well I'm very down on Dave. I think he was a terrible hire given today's NFL. I like the kid...so there's that. But Dave only gets away with his condescending style if he wins. So far I've seen very little from him. I'm fine with developing the kid. I get that. But we need to see improvement from the rest of the team. The "fixed" O line is as bad or worse than the old O line. Our defense is as bad or worse. Our WR's are far worse. And our "RB touched by the hand of God" had 1 yard in 13 carries.
So maybe the "DG haters" just don't like the way he's handled the football team.
I think your opinion on his moves is completely premature. I know it's been said 1000 times, but rebuilds take time. I don't believe he is through working on the line and the defense. Not every player is going to pan out. There is only so much you can change in one off season. Yeah...They can take time. But during the process you need to see elements of the team get better....Right?
My guess is that Shurmur will be out after this year along with the coaching staff. I would be shocked if Dave was out. I'm sure he'll stay. But he better learn from mistakes because he's made plenty. This team is actually worse than it was two years ago.....and that has nothing to do with Daniel Jones. I'm talking about everyone else. We just lost to the Jets. That wasn't on Jones. He threw for 4 TD's. That's not a product of developing a QB. That is just a bad football team.
Dave brags about "Hog Mollies". He's drafted essentially ONE O lineman in two drafts.
Am I being premature? Maybe. But I'm ****ing sick of losing.

EVERYONE is sick of losing, but you can't allow your "feelings" to be your barometer. The Giants knew this rebuild was going to take time and that it was going to get ugly before it gets better. Some of our "new" players are not good, some need more time. Baker looks terrible, but even you said you believe he will be great. Again, can't do everything in 1 or 2 years, ESPECIALLY when you inherited the cluster**** that DG did AND when you changed directions between years. They made a mistake by not starting the rebuild right away, of which is on Mara. "Eli has years left" was nothing more than towing the company line. They also knew fans were going to be impatient. Owners HATE pulling the trigger on a full rebuild.

Right. 6 #1s and 14 #2s worth. It’s a little known fact. Is this your way to deflect the ignorance of DGs choices? By being over the top and exaggerating? The moment Mayfield was drafted I was thinking we were going to trade back with Denver with the prized possession of Darnold still there and the Giants obviously still stuck on Eli. Figured they could get Denvers 1st and 2nd in 2018 and Denvers 1st and like a 3rd in 2019. Why would we try to have an easy rebuild with multiple high draft picks over the next few years when we could put all our chips in on a RB on a shit team with no OL? Oh well. I like 10 year rebuilds. Not at all. If it’s a fact I’ll wait for the proof. Otherwise this is just a real housewives of the meadowlands circle jerk. Also, I’m fully aware there will never be any proof provided. Facts. lol.

if thats true than that question shoudl be asked of DG. Of course he wont admit it but ask anyway. Sounds way too good to be true and you would think any GM would take that offer in a second I am pretty sure it’s accurate based on the reporter. And it wouldn’t surprise me. Gettleman wasn’t picking up the phone.I said it from the day after Barkley was drafted and I was ridiculed. If he refused to pick up the phone to listen to an offer, that should have been a firable offense.

Sounds more like they got offered a #1 for Collins.

Really It didn't delay it, as any GM will tell you they are always building the Giants have a complete rebuild they needed to get all the quitters out of the building, As for letting good players go Pugh and Richberg were terrible last year and mostly bad here why would anyone keep them, then there is the debate of Snacks who at 31 has fallen off big time after he held Deriot up for more money, Kennard 3 sacks in the first game hasn't'rt had a QB hit since and Okwara with a grand total of a half sack this year, by the way the way Peppers is playing at a tenth of the cost of Collins I will take that every day all day. these are what some consider mistakes.

This is what I've learned from this thread: Gettleman refused to pick up the phone and listen to an offer of two 1s and a 2 for the Giants 2nd round pick.
Thanks to everyone for the enlightenment.

Nope. I think some people, ver much you, hate on DG for personal reasons (ie...he's a liar, he's pompous, he treats the media badly). Has he made mistakes, absolutely. But he has drafted very well imo and getting rid of overpaid players from the old regime is great imo. How everything pans out remains to be seen, but you guys have already decided that he's a POS. Well I'm very down on Dave. I think he was a terrible hire given today's NFL. I like the kid...so there's that. But Dave only gets away with his condescending style if he wins. So maybe the "DG haters" just don't like the way he's handled the football team.
Here is the problem, either his behavior is not acceptable or his behavior is acceptable, winning or losing should have no baring on this. If you selectively apply these principles, then the principles themselves have no merit. If your problem is the losing, then stick to that instead of finding a righteous excuse for the irrational personal dislike you have for a person you have never met. Because if those reasons only bother you because they are losing, those are not the reasons you dislike him.

Well, that will be never. Which is surprising given that it's stated as a fact. Although the timing of dropping this little known fact reveals all you need to know about it. A year later now that the results are in, Denver's media mole is helping them walk back their repeated failure at the QB position.

Are you guys not believing Denver wanted to jump the Jets to draft Darnold? Or just the value they were willing to give up?

Are you guys not believing Denver wanted to jump the Jets to draft Darnold? Or just the value they were willing to give up? No there were rumors swirling that Denver wanted to trade up. Now the fact that someone is saying that they were willing to give up 2 firsts and a second is inaccurate. I've had many issues with Gettleman, but I never once questioned his ability to move around the draft board. I have no doubt that if they actually offered that, that DG would've done the deal. A lot of you guys seem to forget, but there was one team that offered him something (which I think may have been Denver) and it was an insulting offer so this is how he responded to them when he was asked by reporters.

And he also said there was one significant deal offered, but he couldn't give up Barkley. That could have been Denver for all we know too. “We had such a strong conviction on Saquon. I was talking to people. Not a lot, but we all had such a conviction on this kid. At the end of the day, very frankly, today, Baker Mayfield goes. The only reason that pick wasn’t in at 9:58 was because we had to wait till the five-minute mark,” he said Thursday night. www.bigblueview.com/2018/4/30/17304910/ny-giants-2018-nfl-draft-dave-gettleman-saquon-barkley-no-2-pick-trade-offerHe didnt even want to work the phones to see how great a deal he could get.
