I still say Scheme is the biggest issue here as well as Inconsistent Pass Rush up front Yesterday, Trubisky was getting a lot of time and the Bears Offensive Line is suppose to be BAD Baker is going to be a Good CB let him Ballentine, Beal all go through their Growing Pains as young CB's in the NFL they will be fine. I'm sure Rodgers is really going to go after Barker and Ballentine this Week so it won't get any easier They will be picked on until they can't be anymore because of improved play or they will be off the field.

Man, is Trubisky bad .... Man didn't they trade up for him, he was decent last year can't call it just yet he can still get better. But right now he stinksI mean bad. I’m calling it. The kid sucks. If Dave Brown and Kent Graham had a kid it would be Trubisky.

Isnt getting rid of Jenkins and Ogletree creating more holes though? I dont know our cap number for next year, but $90m sounds like a lot. My problem I have is I have zero trust in Gettleman spending it correctly. What exactly would we be missing by cutting tree other than the occasional int? What exactly has Jenkins done to warrant staying? I asked this question before. Who replaces him?

Draft pick? And if we are uncomfortable with just the kids in the secondary use the money saved on Jenkins for an actual younger upgrade like Byron Jones..

From what I watched. Everyone. Well, Allen Robinson was running free all game long so .... Go re-watch the game. Robinson did not have a ball thrown at him when Backer was covering.

The stats indicate that he had two balls thrown his way and no completions. It's a good start against a very bad offense. Let's see him continue to improve before we fit him with a yellow jacket.

Anything to make the kid look bad . He was not benched. he took 65% of the Defensive snaps. It does not change the fact he did not give up one yard in the passing game. Probably good for him . He was not getting over used, had some rest and remained fresh. He could actually run and make a play without being winded. Apparently if you do not play 100% of the snaps as he was ( no corner can) The click baiters assume he was benched.

So when he plays bad it is open season on him. When has a good game it is dismissed . Gee it sounds like another player the Giants have. In the 10 games prior to today he was ranked the worst CB in football. Let’s calm down about one game against Mitch Trubisky before we start in with the “I told you so’s”... He rookie and he played like a rookie. If anyone has to say that. Than you must never watched a football game in your life. There "I told you so" But keep it up you knowledge of the game is insightful.

I haven't been able to watch the game again but I read Baker didn't play at the end of the game and was replaced with Beal. I'm on vacation so I didn't even have a chance to see the end of the game but if this is true the "rest to remain fresh" might not be the case.

He did not play in the final 2 Drives Chicago had , Probably because they were not passing the ball and running the clock down.

Beal and Baker were rotated every couple plays and they will continue to do so. Ballantine was targeted 14 times for 12 receptions. Clearly they were going in one direction with the ball. Trubisky was awful, and once they went up 19-7 they severely limited his throwing.
Im not taking anything away from Baker, this is such a pointless conversation to have right now. If there is improvement happening, were going find out much more against Rodgers as opposed to a QB who will be a backup next year.

The entire Defense looked better. There is always room for a lot more improvement. They are showing signs of playing more as a unit and less as individuals. The best sign is the did not hit a celling . Giving up only 19 is a start.

I do agree in general that AT TIMES our D is looking better, and I am glad to see the rooks get some snaps, regardless of the results. One positive note is we are pretty good against the run all year. But we continue to give up huge chunk plays to wide open WRs. This has not changed since game 1.

OK you said what I was thinking but people are afraid to cut loose expensive anchors it seems I was only commenting that they might not even have to add a player and I do hope they cut Tree. Mayo had a good game yesterday and the jury is certainly still out on Connelly. Make it down we are in agreement again.. GO GIANTS!!

Heh I was never really keen on the tree trade and hated the restructuring. I actually think, especially if we get Young, move Carter inside where I think because he is good at a lot of things but just not a great edge rusher(he is litteraly a clone of Lennard Floyd in every way and his play drastically improved when they got Mack and wasn't relied on to be an edge rusher)with Connelly and having Mayo as a high end backup (let this sink in...having a MLB as a backup that isnt a liability.....which is what we should be aiming for )..that is now a nice group inside

I wish we would stop experimenting with 2 down linemen when we have 4 starting caliber guys for a 3 man front plus Mckintosh as a rotational penetration guy. We should be base 3 down linemen at all times, its when we get pocket push on passing plays and teams cant run on us at all in this front.

Too me he's the back up in your plan at best unless he improves with his strength and tackling better is a result of that.

I asked this question before. Who replaces him? Carter moves inside? Draft pick? And if we are uncomfortable with just the kids in the secondary use the money saved on Jenkins for an actual younger upgrade like Byron Jones.. Sounds like a lot of hope right there. Carter never has played inside despite that article saying he could be good there that came out a few weeks ago. Draft pick to replace Jenkins? Like Baker? Beal? Ballentine? Im not in disagreement though moving on from them as I stated we should have moved them at the deadline for picks. (Instead our genius GM trades for players with draft capital in a lost season.) Next year we will need: TE, WR, 2 OTs, C, maybe even a G is Zeitler doesnt pick it up, a pass rusher, 2 LBs, a CB and a FS (Unless thats Love). Oh and possibly a new K. Other than that we are looking good in 2020!

I've been saying this but I'm more reactive to them making quicker changes then you so I'm curious why you are on board with not letting him develop like you are with all these other players? After all we got to witness the other option this past Sunday it was awful.

I meant everybody that stood in front of him. he covered his guy like you would want. You baited it so I have to ask. How is acknowledgement for a rookie playing a good game equate to " fitting him with a yellow jacket" Who in this thread has even implied that? Obviously, the yellow jacket thing was an exaggeration.
You created an entire thread singing the praises about a kid who had one good game (during which by the way he lost snaps to Sam Beal) playing against an absolutely putrid QB and offense, after playing like absolute dog shit for the first 10 games, admitting that he wasn't studying hard enough and getting caught loafing on national TV.
Forgive me if I need to see more before I start acting like a lovestruck teenage girl......

What I did was show the rookie played well and gave him credit You pointed out his problems in a few threads . It is ok for you to take note and admonish as you did . It is not admissible to show for agknologment for good play . Don't you think that is a bit of a double standard?
